The driving physics are the best they've ever been. The graphics are the best they've ever been. They added online... everyone else already had it because GT4 was on the PS2, remember? While I will always admit that the PD machine is slow to assimilate some ideas and improve (engine sounds, interface, career mode, AI etc...) you can't deny its strengths.
The graphics are better than they were on the previous generation console, no doubt, but that isn't raising the bar. That is simply keeping pace.
The physics are arguable. Some will quote many other products for their physics.
The graphics are up to par for the premium cars, but the rest are up to PS1 standards, standards that are a decade and a half old. They didn't recreate anything, they just resold us content that we have paid for already.
Let's look at the GT6 peeks we've had. It's an NSX concept and some tracks from GT3. So again, they'll sell us rehashed content.
I am eager to see what the big "must have" reasoning will be for GT5. Frankly, content from a decade ago isn't what I'll be paying for. Don't be shocked that in this very tough time for large scale games if many take a pass on this leftover.
