Stupid GT5 in game censorship word list

It censors any Hindu or Sikh name and any word thats from an Indian language (eg: Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu, Tamil, etc.) ...I can only really interpret this as blatant racism from PSN.

I've also noticed that none of the Japanese curse words are censored.... especially my perennial favorite : M________-taro

I don't think this is PSN's fault, but rather PD's or the master list they use.

"Gay" is French for happy or cheerfull. I'm playing GT5..., I'm so gay ! ;)
But yes.., the censorship is bizar to say the least.

Sorry I meant to say thats the only real reason I could think of to suggest why these are censored... as for the Japanese, I think its because censorship is more lenient over there.

Lenient censorship?:boggled:

The Japanese are known for censoring porn amongst other things. I don't want to know what words that are sacred here are censored there.

im fed up of the filtering system on GT5, I THINK what they should do is somehow tie the game to the account so that say for example the owner of the PS3 is 18+, they can have the option to allow only 18+ players to join with profanities allowed, whilest players below that age would be filtered to the "under 18" rooms.

Ok it's not a perfect solution but hey its a start at least :)

I have never been able to say anything. Cencors every single word. The rage after seeing a long sentence as *** ****** ****************** ** ******* ***** ******** ****** ******** ******* *** ********* ** ***** makes me wish that the coder swallows the fukushima nuclear plant.

How many innocent conversations has this affected I wonder. For instance, consider the following scenario: a group of people playing GT5 decide to take a break and one of them sends the following message to the others, with the PSN censorship filter's corresponding reactions:

Hey guys, the constant [Now, then sonny, that's not nice] engine [OK, that's a warning] sounds are contriving [Are you doing this deliberately?] to stress [You're getting me angry...] me out. Would anyone consider [You wouldn't like me when I'm angry...] a bit of multiplayer on Assassin's Creed? [WHAT, double 'S' in double 'ass'??? AARRRGGHH!! *YLOD*...]

:sly:

This thread makes me lol. I'm not sure if it has been mentioned but falcon is censored. I just tried to mention that I have a Ford Falcon, I didn't try to Falcon Punch anyone...

is there a way to turn it off?? sigh.. I guess that's what I get for buying an e rated game.. ~_~ the children will learn eventually anyways.. stupid sheltering. The sad part is most of the parents that complain's kids will end up buying mortal kombat

I have found an easy solution... A mic works wonders and you can swear all you want until someone kicks you or everyone leaves that is!

But seriously, It is REALLY annoying when youve painstakingly typed out a huge message with your DS3 and have it show up as....

**********************************

On top of that you havent even typed ONE SINGLE swear word...

Me and my friend found plenty of "offensive" words that are allowed. I'm not really sure if I'm allowed to post them here, but just know there are a lot out there.

I found "aids" is censored, but you can write out "driving aids" and it wont be censored. Thought that was a little smart.

PD has no control over the swear filter, its part of the ps3 itself. Its quite inferior, because it uses a system where it will filter words that are within words, so stuff like constitution because it has con, and tit, and engine is a derogatory word to indians, tho its spelled differently. Pd could remove its self from the ps3's interface for chat, but i'm sure its more effective to use the hardware than software to display and input messages.

it is in conttrol because pm in GT5 are diffrent than PM in PSN.

Chat for me is unusable in my language (polish).

I can easly type a lot of mean word without censorship but other words are just ******

This must be fixed.

Censorship just don't work.
