only a few people can use the app. How does this make you feel?

  • It makes me feel cheated. PD should make the app available for everyone.

  • I have an iPad, it works for me, so meh. I don't care about the whiners.

  • I guess I feel sad about it, I really wanted to try it.

  • Looks like I'm getting a tablet..

  • All this time I was hyped for this feature. Now I'm unsure anout my future and Gran Turismo.

  • ??? What do you mean not all of us can use the app?

  • I'll just emu it when it works. I really don't care that much.

  • Meh!

  • If it comes to other devices, I'll be really glad. I want to use my smartphone and/or PC.

Even if it was actually advertised from the start as a mobile app?

It's a feature we paid for and "mobile" is a broad description. The assumption is that it would be phone compatible since that is the leading mobile platform.

I could do phones and tablets, but PD can't? Fail!

I think you need another option in the poll for those of us who actually think it's a good idea to use a more versatile device to create tracks.

Once it actually goes live and we've had a look at it, I'm sure we'll work out how to get it running on different devices.

Providing an ADDITIONAL option of using a tablet would be great. Artificially locking out players to force them to use a tablet is simply terrible.

The course maker should be in game first, peripheral support should be second.

Yes we did, as a separate app for mobile devices. And it is working on phones, on Android at least, but when you load it you do kinda get why they chose not to put it on mobiles as the buttons would need to be a lot bigger for it to be less awkward to use and there simply isn't room on a mobile phone screen (even one as big as a Galaxy S5's) for that to work.

So we have to download an app to be able to use the app that PD has 18 months to put together.

Brilliant. :-P
You don't need to download another App for the Track Editor App.

IT'S the TRACK EDITOR app...you only need to download it once.

Ahh.. I see, but unofficial, so PD has still failed us. It's sad that the faithful need to be so SO faithful that we have to fix the game for the professionals.

Why do they get a paycheck then?

If it were my team, I'd have lost my mind at this braindead choice to 1) go mobile entirely and 2) to not make it available for phones.

Bluestacks on HP PC running Vista: "Failure to initialize, your hardware does not support this application, sorry!"

You can get a tablet for less than £40. It is also possible to run android apps on a PC within Chrome.

It's not the end of the world.
And WHY would I want to buy a tablet for 40pounds (you do the conversion to AUD) after already passing out good money for a game I paid FULL PRICE for over 2 years ago, just to get a FEATURE that was promised as "coming soon".......way back then??
Ban me if you wish, I've moved on regardless, I just was hoping this might have been a fun addition to the game. :indiff:

I'm sorry to say this app (finally got it working in Bluestacks too) isn't as good as they said it would be. So many limits. Corners too close to the track some places, the corners can't be made as sharp as you want, you can't place objects wherever you want, and placing curbs is painful. Meh. I expected so much more.

You can use it on phones too so the thread title is misleading... You just need to downloading it from somewhere else , not Google Play.

No, it wasn't. The GPS companion app was, but that was obvious because the PS3 doesn't have a GPS logger. Extra hardware was always going to be needed for that, and I don't think anyone was confused on that front.

There was no reason ever to think that the Course Maker would only be available as an app.

Not really , i didn't need to "hack" anything to get it to work , just download , install and create mad tracks. You just need another source to download the app.

And for some reason some features dones't work in this "hacked" app.

From what i've seen so far it does look like an improvement over the CC in GT5. Everyone would have been over the moon with that, but then they make it tablet only

Must feel horrible for those who were waiting for this for so long, and who don't have a tablet. It's just a bit too expensive as an investment for many people if they would just end up using it for building tracks in a game. Wiser decision would have been to bring it out on PC instead, as almost everyone has a PC at home?

PD...

So, been working on an a track, and it occurs to me, there is some sense in having on a tablet, you can keep the track designer open, next to you, whilst you drive your test laps, if you find something you don't like, just hit pause, tweak it on the tablet, continue on with the lap until you find something else you want to change, then after a lap or two, quit the test run, transfer from the pad, do another test run... it's pretty slick actually.

It's NOT tablet only , have you just skipped through the last few posts?

@Shahar you don't have to call it nothing , it's literaly the same file as the one on the app store.
