only a few people can use the app. How does this make you feel?

  • It makes me feel cheated. PD should make the app available for everyone.

  • I have an iPad, it works for me, so meh. I don't care about the whiners.

  • I guess I feel sad about it, I really wanted to try it.

  • Looks like I'm getting a tablet..

  • All this time I was hyped for this feature. Now I'm unsure anout my future and Gran Turismo.

  • ??? What do you mean not all of us can use the app?

  • I'll just emu it when it works. I really don't care that much.

  • Meh!

  • If it comes to other devices, I'll be really glad. I want to use my smartphone and/or PC.

This is ridiculous!

I use a friggin Samsung Note!!! It's basically an oversized phone that is used as a phone/tablet called a "Phablet!", and I cant use it on this, when theres a million people out there that use this phone/tablet for much more complex programs that some tablets cant even handle...grrrrrrr!
All the concerns about what it's compatible with or not are, at the moment, unfounded. When it's actually available for download, we'll find out.
It's not actually available for download yet.

Don't think it's been released for Android yet. On compatible devices I believe it is still saying "nat available in this country" or something like that.

That's correct. So far Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 gives that error while spoofed. I'll keep an eye on the app with these 2 spoofed devices.

That's because it isn't actually in the Play Store yet. And while I'm aware that you know this now, it looks like a lot of people above you (edit: and below me) don't.

You can't search it. If you follow a direct link there's ONE download (which will be PD or Google, depending on how these things work - a test download either way). It isn't there yet.

In my case, on Google Play Store inside Bluestacks, it appear written: "More than 1 downloads" (in portuguese).

Furthermore, making a list of compatible devices could be nice because it tends always to increase. Differently of a list of incompatible devices, which could be confusing and tend to decrease while and if the app is not released yet.

@syntex123 Could you add to the OP post in big red letters:
The app is not out yet.

So that we can avoid anymore posts about how to download it? We've tried almost everything:
Emulators, spoofing our devices (and carriers for other countries' Play Store) does give a vague list of what tablets will be able to be used, APK downloaders don't work, and that 1 download is probably PD or Google test downloading the app. What else can we try?

On the other hand, as everyone without a tablet seems to be really angry, if I manage to make it run on my phone when it comes the app comes out by spoofing my phone, I'll put up a tutorial if I have time on how to do it.

Different regional Play Stores carry different items - rechecking just now, I still have just the one download showing. However I doubt it's actually listed in your local regional store. Can you find it by searching for it or do you have to use a direct link?

That's fine and all, but until it actually releases we don't know which is which - even if you see an error message that says it is incompatible. The list of devices getting that responses I've seen so far seems utterly ludicrous - there's no way a Google Nexus 10 is incompatible when an iPad Air 1 runs it just fine.

I think you need another option in the poll for those of us who actually think it's a good idea to use a more versatile device to create tracks.

Once it actually goes live and we've had a look at it, I'm sure we'll work out how to get it running on different devices.

Nexus 10 gave the "correct" error message for me.

Direct link from the GTPlanet News. You're probably right, it's not released yet for Android, and we have to wait a little bit.

Get an Android device if you are looking to save money. Just make sure it is a compatible device first. Should be able to find one for $100 or less that has as much or more processing power than an ipad. I'm not trying to start an apple vs android debate, apple has it's perks. But bang for your buck is definitely in android's favor
I know how the iPad works since I have a iPhone, if I get an android tablet it will take me a while to get used to it.

I'd say that the ipad mini wouldn't be compatible due to the screen size

As my samsung tablet is almost on par with the ipad mini if not "better" it the samsung has more ram and same processor be it 0.01 different so I am i assume it would be screensize issue, as some phones these days hands down outdo some if not most tablets.
I'm going to see if my friend can get the app on his Samsung tablet, I'll let you guys know if it works.

I have it working on Bluestacks! It's so funny! Thanks, PD!

Idk why this decision was made this way, I have a Samsung s6, and I do believe it's specs are more than the app need some to run, 8 core cpu, and a great gpu too, not to mention a 1440p screen.

it's a phone...

RAM, I bet with you it's a RAM issue.
I can see why it's an optional app, I can't see why only a handful of devices can actually run it.
I like to defend PD and their decisions, but this is the biggest screw up I can imagine and doubt that even 10% of all GT6 users can actually use it.

since when have more than 10% of GT users ever been able to use one of the new features on day 1 (2)?

LOL

Give it some time, people! If they waited until it worked for every device, you'd surely complain about that additional wait. At least we know now that it is a real thing that actually exists, and not some empty promise from Sir, Kaz.

How could the PS3 not be able to do the ability of creating tracks like the tablet does?
Ahhh you have a touch screen PS3?

haha jk, Watch the video if you have not and you will see why. Not to mention the work flow with dropbox etc for image and KML files. Right now the biggest downer is the scaling and the huge imposed starting line that you can't alter. All in all the fluid editing of this on the tablet blows the preset GT5 maker away completely.

What Touch Screen PS3 you mean?

on the phones issue...

PD (actually sony) is being sued for some stupid **** right now... so, think about how the exec meeting went when they talked about allowing people to potentially be driving and trying to use their phones to capture track layouts? Nevermind that this isn't how the app actually works, but a certain percentage of people would believe this gave them the ability to use GPS directly from their phones to create tracks in real time as they drive.

That could be one explanation for the phone thing.

Also, your poll is missing at least one answer. "This is the way it should be and there is no thing wrong with making it tablets only".

It works on bluestacks finally it's possible for everyone!!!

Not necessary. I have an older Mac Pro at home and while the machine works great given it's age and has plenty of free disk space and RAM, it's unable to run Bluestacks due to the emulator requiring either OS X Mavericks or Yosemite and the machine is upgraded as far it can go with OS X Snow Leopard. Maybe some of the other emulators will work, but I'm not holding my breath and I'm certainly not about to run out and purchase a new machine or even a tablet, just use a feature that should be available to everybody.

This is one of the dumbest moves PD has ever done. If it isn't available for everyone, don't put it out then.

I'll run it on Bluestacks nonetheless.

Does anybody know how can I rotate a figure on Bluestacks? On a tablet, we would use 2 fingers to do that. I need to know in order to put a figure of a track aligned with the initial straight.

Edit: now I see we can rotate the initial straight. But rotating figures may be useful in the future.

All this talk of Bluestacks and other such workarounds, Not only have I tried Bluestacks in the past in my personal opinion it was garbage, People should not have to use workarounds, The coursemaker was advertised years ago as being part of the game, As far as I'm concerned the fact it is an app does not make it part of GT6 and was falsely advertised for years.

Even if it was actually advertised from the start as a mobile app?
