only a few people can use the app. How does this make you feel?

  • It makes me feel cheated. PD should make the app available for everyone.

  • I have an iPad, it works for me, so meh. I don't care about the whiners.

  • I guess I feel sad about it, I really wanted to try it.

  • Looks like I'm getting a tablet..

  • All this time I was hyped for this feature. Now I'm unsure anout my future and Gran Turismo.

  • ??? What do you mean not all of us can use the app?

  • I'll just emu it when it works. I really don't care that much.

  • Meh!

  • If it comes to other devices, I'll be really glad. I want to use my smartphone and/or PC.

RAM, I bet with you it's a RAM issue.
That depends entirely on what it does, and I haven't seen any real breakdown of how it works. If it is making your tablet actually generate the track, then uploading that track to PSN and making that track available to simply download to your PS3, then yes. If it is merely acting as a UI to use to upload instructions to PSN that your PS3 then uses to generate the track on its side anyway, then it's extremely hard to believe that couldn't be done on the PS3, even if it required a separate program from the game to do so instead of doing it in game.

@Janteag minor feature? Being able to create missing tracks and our own custom ones from daily driven roads is awesome. Not minor at all.

@Froudeybrand yeah I know it isn't there yet, but when it is I still bet it won't work.

PC would make it available to millions of more people though. You're a huge exception with not owning a normal computer. Heck, most people I know who own tablets have one of the Samsung Galaxies which don't seem to work, so this is just really, really close to a worst case scenario.

I certainly own a "normal" computer, in fact I own two of them. I use an iMac and MacBook Pro. And yes, if I wanted to spend time administering Windows, I can run Windows on them. In fact, I have Windows installed on the iMac in Bootcamp just in case I need Windows compatibility, but it must be many months since I did that!

If I wanted to, I could use Bluestacks to emulate Android on these computers under Mac OS X , but I choose not to because I like the touch interface of my iPad. The app works really, really well on my iPad 4.

do you have a link to this APK maybe i can force it onto bluestacks
You can only grab the APK with a compatible device.
If you find a way, send it to me and I'll try to make it run in Andy.
Unfortunately I don't have a link to the APK directly, but I bet if you were savvy enough and dug around in your browser's developer console you could find it.

Lol you said you didn't have a PC. A Mac is a PC so your previous post was really confusing. If this app was browser based it wouldn't matter if you have a Mac or Windows PC. I have a Mac too, but I say PC all the time because it is a PC :P

Well I finally found a device that is compatible, just to find out it's still not available in the US.

I should have read here first but I'll give my run down.

I log in on my PC, first account all 3 incompatible. I try my second account both devices incompatible. I tried googling it on my wife's tablet. Success! Then I get, not released in your country... It's been 11 hours...

I'm going to give them the full 24 hours to figure it out. If not I might be saying goodbye to the thought of GT7.

Don't know if this will help the friendly programmers here, but the tablet I got to say compatible is the, SM-T330NU, Android version 5.1.1.

Didn't someone say it is more likely to work on Android version 4.1 or something? (I'm an iOS dude so idk)

I've uploaded bluestacks and nothing :/

So apart from Tablet there is absolutely no way you can use it? I thought we'd at least be able to mess around with it on the PS3. I've lost every last ounce of respect for PD and GT now, which is a shame as I loved the game.

So, many common Android tablets don't work.
Emulating also does not work.

On top of that, the app is still not available (might not be PD's fault).

I am really disappointed. They could have just made it a function in the community area on their website, additional to the app.

Well done :grumpy:

But I remember when PD released that vehicle info app for iPad only, I was a little sad about this restriction, but I don't remember anybody complaining about it. Now we have to complain with all our strengths until PD finds a more fair solution for this Track Editor.

It could be useful, for now, that somebody make a list of WORKING devices, so we could try an emulation solution for this.

From what the site says it should be 4.1, I've read here though, people in the areas that it's been released, have been trying with 4.4 to no success. I believe it's something to do with with the Google Play Store. Cause there's still only 1 download. *starts up the Sims*

How does it make me feel?

Frustrated, disappointed and confused.

Poor presentation or not, it's quite ridiculous how many people are getting angry over such a minor feature

You're hilarious, I wouldn't class the biggest feature in the game to be minor.

A lot of people would say this is the main thing they were looking forward to in GT6, now most can't even use it!

Yeah, we got no reason to be angry... OK.

I only feel confused, I'm not sure why they would only make an app? why did they think that all GT players were using tablets? How did they come to that conclusion?

I think not being able to use it because of the fact that they decided to make it available to tablet users only is somehow a bit worse than not getting the course maker at all, we paid to be able to use it without having to pay to use it, because if the emulators doesn't work, it would mean that we'll have to get a tablet that works with it... so I guess I'd feeling a bit cheated but until I'm sure that emulators can't run the app, I'll remain confused by their choice.

My biggest problem is actually the fact i'm still unable to download the App on my android Tablet.
That's because it isn't actually in the Play Store yet. And while I'm aware that you know this now, it looks like a lot of people above you (edit: and below me) don't.

You can't search it. If you follow a direct link there's ONE download (which will be PD or Google, depending on how these things work - a test download either way). It isn't there yet.

All the concerns about what it's compatible with or not are, at the moment, unfounded. When it's actually available for download, we'll find out.

This is ridiculous!

I use a friggin Samsung Note!!! It's basically an oversized phone that is used as a phone/tablet called a "Phablet!", and I cant use it on this, when theres a million people out there that use this phone/tablet for much more complex programs that some tablets cant even handle...grrrrrrr!

So lemme get this straight....I can't even use it on my badass i7 Flight Simming PC either and the PS3 too?!?!?!?!

Ahhhhhhhhhhh.....I don't know if I should cry, scream or just start laughing spontaneously like a lunatic that just escaped the looney bin..
