I understand about the steering wheel issue but have you guys tried using the zoomed interior camera you can choose in the pause menu? :D

2. The driver list on the HUD, I just want the option to turn all the HUD off apart from the rev counter and speedo on the standard cars. When in cockpit view on the standards that is all I want to see. I'm given the option to leave all the other HUD rubbish on and turn these off but not the other way around. That's mental !

This. And I'd also like to have the option, offline at least, to change the name that appears in there. Because strangely enough, my first name isn't GTP and my last name is most definately not Bradders3535! Haha. It just looks a little odd to me when I'm racing against M.Schumacher and T.He to have my PSN in there, not first initial and surname.

only two things in GT5 really really annoy me,

1. The horrible red flashing gear change indicator. I don't know of a single person that thinks this is a good idea or who finds it that useful. It messes with your hotlapings and braking zones. I keep thinking that with every patch they will offer the opportunty to turn the damn thing off but every time I am thwarted !

Other than these annoying things I'm as happy as a speeder when a police car goes past him even faster !

This so much!

I also hate the way it constantly prompts you that you are not signed in to PSN or that your date and time settings are wrong.

Everything in GT Auto section takes too long.

At the very least oil change should all be available quickly from tuning screen without sitting through the animations. Ideally so would aero parts, so you could change them while in an online lobby.

The way it is, it's additionally irritating that I can't see pp, hp or milage while in GT Auto. Would be nice to see how those numbers (are going to) change immediately.

- online menus structure (as you said it's not user friendly)
- the damn popping and low res shadows/smoke
- the damn stiff and unrealistic camera movement inside the cockpit
- relaxed hands on the wheel at any moment, they should shake with the movement of the wheel!!
- cars SOUNDS (it's not a little thing)
this is how the 3 points above should be: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kp2v3OyyTe0
- no paint preview ON THE CAR
- engine overhaul/body rigidity restoration's PRICE (what the heck! I take a car to the track in practice mode, crash, go back to GT Auto and restoration costs like 250-500.000 credits)

13 years and 4 games later they still havent made a "buy all upgrades" button

Also, a "full restore" button for GT auto (car wash, oil change, engine & chassis rebuild)

these 2 things would save me SOO much time..

^this

If you do the chassis and engine repairs first, then you don't need to wash or oil; they're included. Saves money and time. 👍

I don't know what time attack is but have you tried pushing up on your dpad?

You're correct, pressing up on the D-pad on either the DS3 or DFGT(Not sure what it is for other wheels) will toggle the ghost on/off in time trials/practice mode.

When I'm lapping traffic, and the car ahead decides to slow down as if a wall is coming up...

this is the first time i've ever seen anyone mention this!
i must be missing entire threads on this, surely.
i've watched racing since Senna was in a black Lotus, played since OutRun, and never seen anything quite so stupid.
This was the reason i was hesitant about damage, because the A.I. would do something completely unrealistic.

Can't turn off the ghost during time attack. C'mon PD, so simple, so basic...

I agree. This one seems like a no brainer. I haven't done too much TT's until the Vettel challenge and later the FGT seasonal TT. Maybe if the ghost could be lightened up. It gets in the way sometimes. Obviously, the idea is to be faster than the ghost, but making up for an early error is tough sometimes with that thing in the way.

I should try the D-pad up next time I'm in the Seasonal TT's.

One of the little things that annoy me is that there are some tracks in the game (Daytona Road Course comes to mind first. Monaco is another one. There are a few others...) that don't have distance markers going into turns.

I like to "hit my marks" and I use those distance markers going into turns as my indicators as when to hit the brakes and how hard to brake. When I'm driving down the backstretch at Daytona coming up to the bus stop chicane, there's no marker boards counting down 300 meters, 200 meters, 100 meters. For me, it's a shot in the dark every time. I can never get a solid feel on where to hit the brakes. Going into the first turn and coming out of the tunnel at Monaco are two others that are hard to judge with no distance markers.

PD really needs to get updated versions of those two tracks into the game via an update or DLC. If those tracks we're on par with the quality of Nurburgring and Spa, I'd drive them way more often.

Other little things that bug me... Passenger seats in RM cars. Really bad glare on some tracks using cockpit view with some cars.

That's all I can really think of. GT5 is a great game!

Practise with the Driving Line on until you know a fair braking marker, then you can turn it back off.

That stupid pop-up menu when you buy a car asking if you want to use it now, and then the one with the color. Im currently trying to collect every single car in the game. Imagine what i have to go through after couple of races and refreshed UCD when theres like 20 cars that i dont have yet. Its such a pain in the... aarrgghh!

I think the only thing that annoys me, is when I'm in photo mode and it keeps switching the frame from vertical to horizontal, you should be able to turn that off.

Any damage sustained in a race isn't permanent, it either stops after a while or you need to pit, depending on the settings, but when the race is over there is no additional damage/wear.

Engine wear/degradation is a gradual thing and kicks in when the car has driven over 3,000 miles, and even then you might lose just a few HP. As for body rigidity, not sure how this can be measured, but I just do it the same time as engine restoration.

I thought you could have a paint preview. I remember messing around with it, and though i didn't paint my car, I saw what color the paint chip would look on it.

I think many people want to see a preview of the whole car in the paint, not the strange little shape on the right hand side.

I have a list of very small and genuinely easy changes that could be made (most are simply LIMITS where there needn't be any) but i'll post it here tomorrow :)

Huh, I use a G27 so I'm not sure if this works or not (never tried it). Of course, I haven't touched GT5 since the big 2.0, which introduces full compatibility for the G27. I'll try this when I get around to playing again. Thanks for the tip.

EDIT: Works here now! 👍

All I know is that is one mean Mustang driver, you can't know how hard it is to be fast in that car without driving it.

Music in gt auto and tuning. Just play the same track throughout menus.
No paint preview...Cmon
Fast forward rewind in replay .Why not a simple L2 for rewind R2 for fast forward.
Options in arcade not in GT Life.
Going back to main screen unnecessarily.
Cant look around car on exterior view

I hate how only certain rims are available for certain cars.. like in previous GTs all wheels in the game were available for all cars, also the lack of second hand wheels is a bit of a blow too mostly because it was fun to mix n match.

I hate that when I enter the lobby it "checks network configuration" or something, then "connects to server" then it pops up a bunch of random lobbies. Though, this isn't as bad as exiting the lobby, where it then takes you back to the lobby selection screen where it "checks network configuration" and "connects to server" all over again. It locks the screen up for about 30 seconds each time I enter and exit a lobby.

But what really annoys me is after I exit Online and go back to the GTLife, I'm then struck with another pop-up telling me I have 10 cards, 10 paints, and 200% addition XP/Credit. Then you get the whole "you're time settings are incorrect" after that. I know adult websites that have less pop-up then GT. It just happens to me so many damn times, especially when I get a in-game gift or ticket... But its all situational, I come home and turn the old PS3 on right around 12:00 AM usually. Just annoying to have to deal with it when I'm trying to get things done and I'm dealing with all this freezing and loading... blah.

Congratulations, you bought a new car! Do you want to drive this now? You have recieved paint you can use for body and wheels. Your time settings are incorrect. You have recieved 10 cards, 10 paints, and 200% additional XP/Credit. Are you sure you want to buy this? Do you want to install now? Updating car. Checking Network Environment. Connecting to Server. Join this room? Connecting to server. Joining Room. Connecting to network. Load bar... Preparing Room Please Wait (load bar)... Checking Regulations. Exit? Checking Network Enivornment. Conencting to Server. You have recieved 10 card, 10 paints, and 200% additional XP/Credit. Your time settings are incorrect.
