What driver do you need to use to get it to work on pc?
the steps below are how u set the game up when using over 200 degrees. For some games spring strength should be on but for most it should be off :)

Here are some files to install
.....................................
wingman profiler
http://www.wingmanteam.com/latest_software/latest_soft_main.htm

DXtweak 2
http://www.wingmanteam.com/latest_software/gadgets.htm#DX Tweak 2

............................................

Open the logitech software/profiler
Go to options. Open the Global Device Profiler
Overall effects Strength= 88%
Spring Strength= 0%
Damer Effect Strength= 100%
Centering Spring Strength= 100%
..............................................
720 Detection
then open DXtweak 2
under calibration
min=98
cen=512
max=923
Now ur wheel will turn in sync with the wheel in LFS
--------------------------------------------
540 Detection
min=195
cen=512
max=827
This is good for games like richard burns
rally.
I havent tried it in LFS yet.

@Koolad & Buggy Boy

Thanks guys.
I was starting to think in that direction as I tried plugging in the usb without the power to see if the lights still blinked (I had a feeling the leds were just fed by the usb).

I'll contact Logitech and see if I can get my hands on a european power supply.

Buggy Boy, thanks for the offer ;-)

Update: Ok, so I called tech support and they're sending me a European power supply, free of charge! Kudos for logitech on this one! :dopey:

OK i am in the process of buying a DFP and i live in uk, has anyone in the uk bought this wheel and if so where from, do shops sell DFP or do u have to order online which id rather not , help much apreciated.

I bought a DFP in the UK from Costco and its great. It cost about £70 but you have to be a costco member which is about a £10.

Anyway its great with GT3 and the 900 degree mode in prologue is really goo apart from the Rally and dirt stages as you have to I find it hard to turn the wheel quick enough even with the FF at minimum.

I just bought a second-hand DFP, but no manual is included...the seller lost it.

A few questions about this:

1. Is the manual necessary?
2. If yes, where can I buy or download a manual?
3. Is there software which needs to be installed to play the DFP?

Thanks a lot !!!

Best regards,

'Dutch'

there's no need to buy a manual, you can probably download it off the internet, but its not needed.. only thing you really need from the manual is how to switch from 200 to 900 mode(select+r3+right paddle), and 60% FFB to 100% FFB (select+R3+left paddle) i think

I searched the whole internet I guess....well...for at least...3 hours or so...but still didn't find a manual...:(

But if what you're say is true....It will be great!!!

Thanks for helping me out!!!

Best regards,
Frenk

ps: if anyone has a link for a manual...that would be great!!!

The manual's worthless.. it's just a few pictures of the wheel saying "This is the wheel, and this is the shifter" along with extremely helpful tips like how to plug it in. Yawn. You're not missing anything by not having it, believe me.

Using GT3 to rate the new wheels performance, is not a good idea . . . Best off just saving you DFP for GT4 or one of the demos, and keep it away from GT3 unless you want to feel underwhelmed with your new expensive purchase.

Phew, I'm learning this one the hard way. Got my DFP yesterday and spent the evening fighting with it on GT3. EVERY attempt at racing with it ended in a loss of input anywhere from 2 seconds to 2 laps into the run. Once it was gone, I had to reset the console to get any wheel/pedal functionality back. Unplugging & replugging wouldn't work, and if I used the DS2 to go back to the calibration options, it wouldn't detect that any wheel was connected. :yuck:

I tried it with Auto Modellista (my only other compatible game) and it worked great lap after lap after lap, but who wants to play that? Should I assume my hardware is OK and I'm having a problem because my version of GT3 is so old? I've searched through this thread and found many references to this problem, but it usually seems to happen intermittently. One post said it happened four times - hell, I had it happen four times in ten minutes! Any advice would be hugely appreciated...

thats weird, i have no problems playing gt3 with the wheel in 200 mode, or 900. But I've spent more time using the wheel for PC games.

Now that u've got a good wheel, how about some Live For Speed while your waiting for gt4? :)

How can you keep the car from understeering so bad on Live for Speed. I never gave that game "demo" much attention because the cars handle like crap. + they are so underpowered.

do you have any setup to fix any of those demo cars? maybe a way so it will handle better. I have the DFP connected to the computer but I only use on F1 Career Challenge.

any help would be appreciated...

This has probably been answered in one of the 40 pages of posts or elsewhere, but
does anyone know if an american dfp will work with a japanese PStwo? Also if anyone
could tell me what it would take to hook up the japanese PStwo to an american tv (if
it's possible) that'd be great

Both will work, I've run a Japanese PS2 with two US DFPs on a US TV... As far as hooking up the Japanese PS2 to the US TV, nothing is different than the US version except the power cord connector.

Well, it takes practice, and you have to do a few things to get the wheel to respond realisticly. I can drift no problem in that game. :)

My original copy broke,about a year ago, so i bought one about a year ago.

I know this is kinda o/t but I have the same problem with the DFP locking up in GT3 - are there actually different versions of the US game? I have one that came bundled with a new PS2 from way back when. Would I have better luck not having the DFP lock up if I bought a new "greatest hits" GT3?

CrackHoor
I'm thinking the same thing. Has anyone else solved this problem by getting a GH version of GT3?
well, i bought the greatest hits version a year ago, because my old copy broke. I havent had any of the lockups you all speak of.

sorry bud but the greatest hits wont help you. I have GH and my DFP has done all sorts of weird things. My PS2 and GT3GH i got in april 2004. got the dfp for x mas. So far i think it has screwed up three times. but this was only in 900 degree mode. Its usually the steering doesnt work and the gas pedal and brake pedal invert themselves and swap brake and gas. Its very weird. When im in 200 degreee it hasnt happened. but there really isnt any need to use 900 in GT3 since you cant steer fast enough.

The only problem I've had so far in GT3 (Greatest Hits) is that the force feedback cut out while doing a race, so I had to un-plug/re-plug it from the USB port, and the force feedback came back, but not sure why it happened.

Does anyone how if its is possible to turn of the force feeback on the two logitech wheels on the market ( pro en common wheel ).

I want my kid to have a go...but the force feedback is too strong :)

Best regards

Unplug it from power? I know that worked for the regular DF, not sure if it works for the DFP

EDIT: I think you can turn it off in-game in GT3 as well, but I dunno about GT4.

My DFP arrived yesterday - nice wheel!

My only concern are the pedals - they look a bit odd. Is it normal for the throttle pedal to be angled slightly further away than the brake pedal? It's a bit difficult to describe but as you sit in front of them, the brake pedal is almost upright whereas the throttle is angled downwards a little. I noticed when using them last night that my foot was starting to ache - probably because my foot is resting on a different part of the pedal when I'm pressing it compared to my old GT Force wheel.

I have the same problem, my foot is achin because of the steep angle of the brake and theres no where to rest it like the momo pedals have. could get serious once gt4 arrives

sorry bud but the greatest hits wont help you.

You're right - it didn't. I tried it last night and ran into the same problem, but I'm only using 200* mode. Your problem sounds totally different than mine.

Also, the force feedback on the wheel can be disabled in the options menu (in GT3) or by just unplugging the AC power connection (any game).

I'm sorry if this question already been answered...
But the connection of my computer is kind of slow...so that I can't read this hole topic before falling asleep :) Zzzzzzzzzzz.

But which games are best for trying out the LDF pro wheel???

Best regards,
Frenk

Has anyone used this with the Logitech Lap Attachment? I need something small and portable that I can put away when I'm not playing.

I would love to get the whole racing seat setup but my fiancee would KILL my ass.
