I don;t normally drive MR cars but for this one I've been persisting with the 07 Scuderia for a number of the seasonals but just can't get the front end to bite to get me gold on this one. I'm losing lots of time through the corners that should be flat out. (07 M3 coupe will do them flat with no issues on SH)
Mods are just Fully Adjustable suspension and LSD.
SH tyres
Most suspension is as it was out of the box and a little more initial torque on the LSD
Dropped the rear camber back to 0.8 and softened the rear springs by 1.0
rear toe at 0.2 and that has fixed the snappy rear end on lift-off and given much better grip on power
dropped the rear brake to 4 also helped settle it.
But i've been up and down in stiffness, toe in and out, camber, but just can't make the car turn in naturally,
if i drive it like a go-kart and use the lift-off oversteer, it will turn in, but still lacks mid-corner grip.
Ok, here's the deal with the Scud you had me tune in the other thread. After I got it tuned for the other Seasonal, just out of curiosity, I came here with it just to see how it would do. Now, keep in mind, I hardly know this track at all, only ran it a handful of times. Having said that, I got Gold with the car on the 3rd lap I ran, 2'19.772, a very, very, conservative lap. Like I told you though, the car handles very differently here than it does at Laguna Seca. I fully believe that PD models different tracks surfaces differently than others, a bunch of us had this discussion before in GT5 and I believe it still holds true with GT6. Anyways, the car is very loose here as compared to Laguna Seca, much has to do with the tires, but also the track itself. By reading your post here, it sounds like you are simply over driving the car. Like I said, this Gold lap was very slow and conservative and I was still able to squeak a Gold time. With a bit more time, I could probably improve my time by a whole second or more with this car, you just have to be more conservative. There is no need to take those certain corners all out, I didn't. Anyways, as loose as this tune is at this track, it is still fully capable of a Gold time. If after you try it and if it is indeed too loose for you, try the following adjustments.
Rear spring rate down to 11.50 or lower
Try softening rear dampers a touch
Raise rear toe a little more - more positive
Lower rear ride height
If you are still having problems, give me a shout and if I have time, I'll see what else I can do. And remember, slow down.
It sounds counter intuitive, but slower really is faster sometimes. Slow in, fast out really holds true in this case. Good luck. 👍
