There are no saving grace from Poly-phony Digital. GTS' updates that didn't actually fix the game as a whole gave more than this and now GT7 only gave 3 cars per month, PD is getting lazier and lazier and shows more how the only update that needs to be done is not done in the game but in PD itself.

Only 3 cars and still leaving all the issues that plagued the game.... um, the franchise as a whole? Like the invitation system, AI, and countless others 💩. The selling cars feature was obviously just a lie, not that I was fooled anyway.

The quantity of cars doesn't matter if there are no worthwhile cars. PD's car list is just so oudated that it's sick of looking at them, because either the so-called car encyclopedia maker in PD genuinely lack knowledge of new cars or can never move on from nostalgia crap. Only pretty graphics, you drive the same thing over and over gain.
The christmas update I bet will be a really sad one this year. Probably just a couple random cars we don't want, a different configuration of a current track, and a few new races and that's it.

Jaguar? Spyker? Some Japanese one off concept?

I just don’t know.

Edit: as to what @Quakebass is referring, the front arches are the unique feature. The RX-V does have that arch, but it’s not that car. Mazda haven’t designed a roadster version. A sketch by an artist did draw one on the web though.
This Lexus EV concept looks close to what the front arches look like, but no cigar or e-cigarette or vape.

Okay... hear me out real quick

Wish there were more cars coming to updates, but I am happy with the GR010 and the GoPro Rampage Camaro are coming. Its cool to see everyone's guesses and predictions for the bottom left car since it is not as defined and could be multiple possibilities. Waiting for the maintenance notice to come and hopeful for new events and course layout(s).

This one has absolutely stumped me, hoping it's something real and not a VGT. Closest I've got so far is the Aston Vanquish Zagato Speedster

Has anyone looked at the 2023 Nissan Z convertible? I can't find the right angle picture, but it could be close. Also Kaz loves Nissan.

Edit: Oops, looks like what I saw was an artist rendering of what a 2023 Z roadster could look like.

Just doing some rough maths with plenty of room for assumptions (I know! But lets be asses for a sec) - GT Sport had 338 cars at last count, GT7 launched with 424 which is an increase of 86.

Regular updates for GT Sport stopped May 2020 (2 cars were added to GT Sport after that date) so basically PD have had 22 months to be working on modelling cars and 86 cars works out at around 4 per month.

I suspect that when GT7 launched PD added pretty much everything they had to get the headline number of cars as high as possible, and we are seeing 3 a month because thats all they can reliably do. Maybe there's one or two months with 5 and the odd extra Toyota in a bonus update etc but as far as cars go I don't expect 15 car updates or anything much more than 3 or so cars a month for a couple of years.

In the end quality over quantity matters too, just putting in the F1 W08 or a couple of SF19 cars allowed a totally new class of racing.

What time do we usually hear about the maintenance announcement? Is there even a usual time, or does it drop randomly?

The last few updates have had the maintenance notification posted between 12-24 hours before the patch. I think it varies on the content of the patch, so this is similar to last update we should see the notification 24 hours before.

Remember to account for cars that were made in the Prologue/GT5/GT6 era. Some are slightly updated while some are almost identical. Either way, they are not all being made from zero.

Working on GT8 engine
The GT8 engine.... For PS6? Why is there a need for a new game engine?

Yeah, does not exist and I doubt it ever will.

I Wonder how gr010 performance will be..since it's only lmH car? and in which class it could compete...it surelly can't be competitive against lmp1
maybe single spec races🤣🤣🤣
Why wouldn’t the GR010 be in Gr.1 when it’s 5-10 seconds a lap quicker than Group C cars. As quick as the early 2010’s R18, 908, TS030. And 10-20 seconds quicker than the CLK-LM & F1 GTR in Gr.2.

just gotta point out how unbelievably unprofessional this company is. this isn’t like some mom and pop business, or a non-profit foundation.

The idea that we could be 36 hours removed from an announced update, having received no information from the official channels… it’s just absurd. For those who (correctly) do not go on Twitter dot com, they’re just in the dark completely.

It’s not a question of people being impatient, or asking for too much. This wouldn’t fly for any product I purchase that claims it is offering me a live service. It certainly wouldn’t pass with any real-world business clients I’ve ever had.
