Anyone else running with a buttkicker? Its very disappointing to say the least... cant feel much of the rumble strips as its drowned out by lower end of the engine noise.

Before it becomes a bit too late, some pics from last round (mostly GT300):

(Ok it's mostly just me and Sonic, but whatever :P)

Sorry for leaving the lobby at the last minute guys, I got disconnected annoyingly, and I can't seem to get back onto the network for some reason. Hope to practice with you guys tomorrow.

I assume it's a little to late to join the lobby?

I would have thought people were ready to pack up by now.

Minus the weaving and stuff on the parade lap. Weaving doesn't warm your tyres up appreciably in GT5, and it caused all sorts of nightmares last week. All it takes is one little bit of lag when the cars are close and changing direction sharply like that and someone ends up punted into a barrier.

Yes, or just make sure that the cars have some distance between them. No need to stay so close to eachother during a formationlap..

And about the pit-line, is it ok to cross it? I did not think it was ok at all. I mean, in the end of the straight, you'd be doing 250 km/h, and someone who comes out from the pits will do 100-150.. Quite a large collision there. Plus that the car coming out from the pits that gets damaged will have to drive 1 lap before being able to repair the damage. "No one can ever cross the pit-line", should be a rule in my book. If someone needs to cross it to avoid collisions, it's another story, same rules as for cornercutting.

I'd say that crossing the pit-line at any time should be strictly prohibited, and hard penaltys will be applyed. It's a "major saftey violation" IRL-racing.. And for a reason.

Yep, the hard tyres are incredibly difficult to warm up at 45mph, but colliding at 45mph whilst weaving is incredibly easy to do if you throw a bit of lag in.

It isn't. It's a violation to cross the line when exiting the pit lane, that's all. But yes that should be penalised heavily, you should stick within the pit exit line till the line ends.

Actualy you can cross it when racing. Like to overtake a car at the next turn you will use the right side of the track.

I agree that in some tracks it can be dangerous, but i don't think thats the case at the Nurburgring.

Ok, I've always belived that no one could ever cross the pit-line. Anyway, we should get it sorted out from Masi, what rules will apply and what rules will not.

Good racing tonight guys, could only be there for a short while because I'm trying to upload my quali lap to youtube and that's hogging all my net apparently. First few laps were really close, Masi, hope it's like that for the actual race :D

Did everyone leave? Still not home until about 15 minutes. I guess practice is over. Its pretty l8 across the pond.

It's not a violation in RL racing to cross into the pit exit lane usually, but you better be doing it to avoid an incident or they will throw the book at you. Using it to overtake is pretty heavily frowned upon.

I don't think it's particularly cool if you're going to use the pit lane to overtake someone. If they're that far over that you need to use the pit lane to get past, it's obvious that their intention is that you should go on the other side. They COULD shut the door completely on you, but then they would be racing unsafely if there is someone in the pits. I think the rule should be don't go in there unless you REALLY have to, ie. to avoid an accident.

The exception might be off the start. By definition, there's no one in the pits then and there's a lot of cars side by side so every bit of road is valuable. I see no problem with people using all the road there.

You can see an example here at about 4:40. The Vette passes by using pit lane, but is forced to give the place back as it was deemed a shortcut.

Maintenance in PAL?

Anyway, good racing with Moleman until i touched the sand on lap 4 i think?

Masi.

Have You signed me for the series? I posted in this thread.
I understand there is only 2 hours left to post a time..?

The Seca video is way different, there is an obvious split between the "circuit" and "pit lane" - there might as well be a wall there instead of that kerb. I've never seen overtaking over the pit exit (ie. when the white line merges onto the track) ever penalised.

@ RamoSapiens - Nope. Deadline is tomorrow 6.00pm PST. I just forgot to update the rules.

You're in. Ill put you on the list once you finish friday's race.

Ahh, didn't realize I had so much time left. I'm a day ahead of you, being in New Zealand and all. My bad ;)

Forget this post.

I'm with Imari on this one. 1 st lap, you don't need to care about the pit-line as no one is in there. And it is seen often during F1 starts for example.

From lap 2, cutting the line should be strictly prohibited.

@ Andil: Are you sure no one has recieved penaltys after such a move? I can't recall one at the moment.. But I'm pretty sure I've heard a lot of commentators talking about the pit-line rule during races I have watched on TV..

* taking a few pics from practice replay for new banner.

Will post it in a few minutes.

Hey Masi, I think I'll switch to GT500 for the next pre-season races and stick with it for the official season.

Here is my official qualifying lap submission.

Anyone knows what is the max hp for the Calsonic GT-R after a complete engine break-in and oil change? Mine is currently at 518 and I've done only a few races with it.

Think I have first to Q for the race?
I`m aiming for the last position in division 2:)
