For about the past 2 weeks I've had literally nothing to do in Gran Turismo 7.
I went through (gold) all 39 menus, all missions, all license tests, all circuit experiences and all world circuit races in the span of less than 20 hours, and in those 20 hours I also grinded the pre-1.07 Fisherman's Ranch about 50 times to grind for the Jaguar XJ13 (which later I couldn't get because of the 1.07 update).
In the middle I also did a couple of Sport Races just for the hell of it. However, I am mostly, a single-player gamer, so I won't be enjoying online any time soon. The only time I'm forced to play online is if there are some trophies related to it (which this game has but I can do them later).
That was it... not even 20 hours and I had beaten everything that PD designed for me over THE LAST 9 YEARS (I can't stress this enough), and left me with the only thing to do being... to collect all the cars for that 100% game completion. However, to do that, I have to waste hundreds of hours of my life grinding the same races over and over because PD couldn't put enough content for me to naturally progress in the game, and left it all to "we will update some more later".
And if I decide to play online against other players or play by myself using the "custom race" feature, the time I need to get all those cars is up by the thousands of hours. No one but no-lifes or content creators have time for this, and they are but the 0.1%.
NO!!! I paid 80€ for this f* game. I want nothing but an absolute finished product, with updates just being extra DLC and not the actual career mode events, those have to be in the game in day 1.
Imagine other AAA games like The Last of Us or Horizon just giving you 1/4th of the campaign at launch and leave the rest for "lolupdates"??? The backlash those games would receive would be astronomical. For good reason.
9 Years since GT6... NINE. And what do I get?
-Less than 20 hours of career mode, which is way less than it's "beta/prologue" version (GT Sport);
-Event payouts so shockingly low across the board to force players to use micro-transactions;
-424 cars of which over 100 of them are fake generated cars or duplicates, and over 300 are carried over from GT Sport;
-Online gameplay that is worse than it's "beta/prologue" version (GT Sport);
-AI so horrendously bad that pretty much all of the races in this game have you starting at the back, in some cases 40 seconds behind, without any option of free practice and more importantly, qualifying, before a race. All this to give you the wrong idea that it's "competitive" when it's really not.
-Inability to sell any cars for the first time in any GT main title... Which is only going to be implemented in the game later because the backlash was heard throughout the entire gaming community.
-A "Next Gen" game that has mid-life PS4 level graphics... You can only get those amazing graphics in photo mode and replays and not enjoy during gameplay which is absolutely ridiculous. They didn't even gave us the option to play the game like that... Ludicrous.
-Marketing pre-game launch "engine swaps"... That ended up being a feature locked behind roulette spins that are rigged to give you the lowest payout 9 out of 10 times.
-Music Rally... ...................... bruh.... .......................
How am I supposed to NOT BE disappointed with GT7 when most of it's core features are DOWNGRADES in relation to every other game PD themselves have released so far?
Only good thing I got from GT7 is that I finally got to know a bit about scripting.
