2012 Malaysian Grand Prix

I think sponsors would get in the way of the aerodynamics.

I mean, look at Brawn last year. Did so well when they were new, and as they picked up sponsors, slowly fell back.

Is the evidence compelling enough???

I hope this is a joke.

To all of you blaming Karthikeyan for Vettel's puncture, think back to Spa last year, when Hamilton thought he had the overtake done on Kobayashi and drifted into the normal racing line then they collided. Who were you guys blaming then? Certainly not Kobayashi.

Now this time A- Button just smacked into him, no brainer whos fault that was. B- Vettel thought the overtake was done, drifted back in and took out Karthikeyan's implate. These backmarkers are slow but no doubt they cant drive on the grass or brake to 2mph 'cause Vettel/Any top driver said so'.

That's how the Vettel/Webber collision happened.

Indeed and guess what, Vettel do his 2010-Turkish again. This time on the HRT.

Narain Karthikeyan's in the way in Turn 9. :)

I have only seen one angle of the incident between Karthikeyan and Vettel and it looked like Vettel drove in to him.

"Ha ha. My cunning plan to cleverly drive in a straight line so that the other guys drive into me and ruin their own races is coming to fruition. The money I receive from Ferrari for this will come in good use"

Something like that?

clearly people have difference of opinion where Vettel's puncture is concerned, but the sheer number of the accidents surrounding Karthikeyan should raise suspicion, which is my point. Even if it's not explicitly his fault he definitely takes lines and course of actions that catch F1 drivers off guard.

p.s.: Even if it's as little as not being a pushover like other (to be) backmarkers.
If people are calling for Massa to be laid off, what is N.K. doing in F1??!

I was really impressed by Perez and Senna today. Alonso did brilliantly too, but then I expect that from him. He is carrying Ferrari along on his shoulders right now. I hope Perez stays at Sauber for the rest of this year as that Ferrari has the potential to kill his career.

Australia was really disappointing for Senna and Malaysia was shaping up to be really disappointing, but then he pulled out this amazing result. I'm very happy for him.

Totally agree. If you support someone you should be the first to recognize when your fav. driver / team makes mistakes. Expecially when they are so obvious.
He is pissed about the car, the fail of team radio, and he called the other "puncture guy" a "Gurke", which means cucumber. He simply wanted to say that the other guy sucks at driving and that it is the other guys's fault.

Oh Vettel.

That's a serious troll then. Vettel STFU. Learn to overtake.

Checo! I've been high on Perez for a while now. I believe his performance today confirmed my belief that he is the frontrunner to take Massa's seat. He was consistently the fastest driver on the track. Sauber did a great job in the off-season and have built a pretty good car. Of course I don't expect to see Sauber on the podium again unless they have favorable conditions much like today. And I question Sauber's ability to keep pace with the rest of the field in terms of development. However, none of that matters at the moment. Today will be a memorable one for Team Sauber.

Great drive as always by Alonso. Ferrari still has a lot of work to do. They especially need to improve the car's qualifying pace. But a win is a win and I'm sure that today's performance will bring some much needed enthusiasm to the team.

All in all today's race is one of the prime examples of why I love Formula One. I stayed up all night and it was well worth it. Unfortunately, we now have to wait 3-weeks for the next race.

I hope Perez stays at Sauber for the rest of this year as that Ferrari has the potential to kill his career.

I agree.

Fantastic race... I am really annoyed about Grosjean though. First he hits Schumacher, then he tries to blame Schumacher?! He ruined Schumi's whole race! I honestly feel Michael would have had a podium here. As for Button, I feel sorry for him, but that was mostly his fault. Good comeback attempt though, but I feel his tires weren't at the right pressure at one point. I think he probably could have done a bit better if they had been. Hamilton... I don't really know, he was fast at first, but then the McLaren just sort of dropped off.

Perez and Alonso were both fantastic, and though I am a huge Schumacher fan, I will also support Ferrari. So yes, Forza Ferrari.

Vettel: lol, just lol. I don't dislike the dude much, but nor do I like him
Maldonado: two races, two retirements... not so good for him. He may have some talent, but on the whole I dislike him, so not disappointed to see him retire from the race. But I do feel sorry for Williams.

Race Hero: Alonso, Perez
Race Zero: Massa, Rosberg, Grosjean
Luckiest Person: Perez
Unluckiest: Schumacher, Button, Vettel

I too agree that Perez should stay at Sauber, in the better car, as shocking that the Sauber is faster than the Ferrari can be. Would have loved to see the major underdog team get the win, but Perez ran the car just too far to the edge of the track going into turn 13 and lost grip.

What exactly caused Kobayahi to retire/be classified 10 laps down?

I also liked David Hobbs' explanation of Mercedes AMG being slow due to "half-assing the setup".

I don't why but this picture totally reminds me of this one:

Given that Sauber have historically been poor at developing their cars and Ferrari have a "new" car coming for Bahrain, I'd say going to Ferrari would potentially be a very smart move.

This wasn't his fault though. He can hardly be blamed for an engine failure.

What? Make sense if you're going to comment, I dont understand ramblings too well

I'm not rambling. I was merely responding to your comment that Massa always blames others for incidents. Please do not accuse me of rambling. Read what I actually said. It's very clear.

But there's no guarantee that it will be a success. Their current car is pretty naff and the conditions worked to Alonso's favour today. In a straight, dry race it's not much cop. So then again with that said, it can only get better.

Massa might even *gasp* score a point.

Driving.

Massa's moves on Button were borderline. He took a defensive position then drove out back onto the racing line leaving the slimmest of margins for Button to get by. Once you've given up the racing line, you've given up the racing line. But he managed to get away with that for a while. Schumacher on Hamilton last year showed that you can only do this for so long before the stewards call you on it. It was hard racing, and if it wasn't Button behind him, I doubt it would have ended as well as it did. Button is one of those guys who you can race to the wire and be sure of not getting tangled up with.

-

Narain, on the other hand, didn't do any defending at all. In one incident, Karthikayen drove slightly wide, Button made a (rare) mistake, outbraked himself and drove into his sidepod. It's impossible to pin that on Karthikayen.

In the other, Narain was on the racing line, Vettel drove in deep, overtook him, then drove straight back out onto the racing line. Karthikayen was already an inch or two from the curbs. Surely, you're not suggesting, seeing as how everyone who's edged onto a curb this weekend has spun straight off the track, that Narain should have jumped onto it?

The overtaking driver has the absolute responsibility to make sure he's 100% ahead of the other driver before getting back on line. Vettel didn't. He paid for it. Same thing he did on Webber in Turkey, and Narain didn't deserve that vitriol from him.

I can't believe the race has been over for hours and this is still being debated.

Great drive from Perez (almost lost it at the end) and if he had come into the pits one lap earlier he would have probably taken the win... well deserved victory for Alonso and a brilliant drive from Karthikeyan the moving chikane:rolleyes:

and a brilliant drive from Karthikeyan the moving chikane:rolleyes:

Indeed. Brave gamble by HRT starting on the wets and Karthikeyan running as high as 10th until Button and Vettel both clumsily ran into him.

LOL! Regardless of who's fault it was, Karth was only in 10th because of the pit strategies of others. He finished where he belongs, at the bottom.

Therefore his strategy was better.

He finished where he belongs, at the bottom.

He came second to last. Could have been higher if it wasn't for the stupidity of Button and Vettel.

What do you expect from a car with no testing and a DNQ to his name? Him running 10th was a big, big plus for the whole team.
