Anybody out there following the Grand Am?

Congratulations to Spirit of Daytona on their first win. Seven or eight years in the business until finally getting that first win for the team. Hey- better late than never. So congrats to Spirit of Daytona and that lovely blue Corvette DP.

Congrats also to usual suspects, the #70 Mazda of Bomarito/Tremblay in the GT ranks.

I had an idea of what kind of carnage happened with all the dirt on the road, but I didn't exactly see the full replay of what happened. Guess it's time to bring on the next race...

I think Grand Am really needs to look at their caution procedure, there really only needed to be one full course caution for the above crash.

SPEED also shows way to many commercials, but that's nothing new.

Just watched some of the CTSCC race from Barber Motorsports Park. The start of the race was crazy! Lots of cool cars this year including some Aston Martins. After F1 , Sports Cars are my favourite racing series.I will definately be watching this year!

I haven't seen the end of the race yet.Had some things to take care of.
Cant' wait to see the finish!

Homestead Miami is tomorrow afternoon, should be a good race. Pretty sure the Extreme Speed Ferrari is racing. Anyone else watching?

I will be. Supposedly, a third Audi will be in the race.

I was going to bring this thread up for the Homestead event. Some good racing usually happens at Homestead. Pretty sure this weekend's race will be pretty action-packed as well. Best of luck to both the DP and GT teams this weekend.

Any more DP teams running this weekend? I know only 9 ran at Barber..

RACECAR
Only 9 yet again this weekend.

I'm hoping for a big field of DP and GT class cars at Indy. Looking forward to going to that race. There's the Continental series running early afternoon and the big boys later toward the evening. Then NASCAR all weekend. Its going to be crazy.:)

Apparently it hasn't stopped raining in Miami for 2 days, so it should make for an interesting race.. 20 minutes until flag drop.

Edit: my god it's a monsoon out there.

Interesting mutterings involving a possible Austin Tx visit and maybe, an Aston Martin DP.

It would be CotA, and most likely run on the shorter variation of the course that the Aussie V8s would run on.

Also, I've never seen a race run in this much rain before outside of F1.

And.... it's over an hour early.

Winners are:

Suntrust Corvette in DP

#69 Ferrari in GT

I've seen an Aston Martin DP before in Racer actually. It sold for $250,000 I think? But it if I remember correctly, it was a one off prototype.

This one?

Looks like a rebadged Riley.

Yep, seen that as well. I think though these are reffering to a maybe actual serious effort. With this new generation DP, It would be interesting as to what model would be represented.

Glad to see the Ferrari 458 take the victory in GT. And after all their struggles, I'm also glad that Suntrust finally pulled off a victory as well.

And on a side note, the red dragon breathes fire :D

How about that beautiful weather at Homestead! Great weather... if you're a duck. It was a rainy mess. At one point, I was away and wondered why Speed aired the Barber Motorsports Park round.

I think the next stop is New Jersey Motorsports Park. Hopefully, the weather will be much more pleasant in southern New Jersey than in South Florida. Congratulations to the winners in DP and GT at Homestead.

I see I am not the only one that was thinking about fire breathing dragons this weekend, agreed on the Ferrari showing 👍
