Anybody out there following the Grand Am?

What's the situation with Aston Martin? Dempsey Racing and TRG is in the running to run the Vantage GT4 but time is running out to build and adapt the car to run in the Rolex Series.

I assume Jeff Segal and Emil Assentato will have the number #62 possibly as I think the number cross over the classes and #60 is taken by Michael Shank Racing in the DP class with Ozz Negri and John Pew.

Segal is in with Max Papis in the #62. Emil's co-driver hasn't been announced yet.

Good to see another car on the grid. I wonder if the Ferrari team that ran the last 2 races of the year this year will be entering a full schedule this year. I really want to see more DP's rather than more GT's, but either way good for AIM Autosport to get Max Papis.

Its shaping up to a be great 2013 season for Grand Am.. can't wait. Going to both the Watkins Glen 6 hour and the "Super weekend" at Road America with the ALMS.

I think Dempsey will probably join TRG in the Aston Martin. Patrick Dempsey might as well be James Bond

I'm digging the future of the GT class in Grand-am more & more 👍

Now I'm really hoping to see the Z4s come over.

Too bad the Aston Martin won't be ready for the Rolex 24. :(. I wanted to see one while I was there.

Dempsey will stay with Mazda. Rumors he my join the WEC in the future. Mazda announcing their LeMans plans today- stay tuned.

Could this maybe suggest the possibility of a GT3 style class in the 2014 merger series? I can't see them investing all this time and money developing and racing the car just for one year..

I would hope so. If the DP had 100 more horsepower, the GT class would be a lot more flexible because the cars could be given more horsepower. That would put it a lot closer to the GT3 or maybe even the GT2 spec. I'm sure the DP will get some more muscle when the LMP guys from ALMS show up. I doubt the France family will allow the DP to be slower than the LMP.
