I thought you had a different strategy so didn't ask before race started  Didn't you see it when pitting?

The thing is, because I had damage so early I'd didn't question why in the first stint I was lapping 4-6 secs slower than my testing times, and after that.....well....let's just say it was VERY late in the evening.

I promise to do better next time and put up more of a fight!

You are kidding me? I didn't have RM's on?

That's funny. Didn't see much of you during the race but when we did come together I figured you must be on hards (how else could I have caught up). I just assumed it was your strategy. :boggled:

I'm going to blame the POS Toyota for just being slow. Surely I can't be that slow :nervous: I see by time trial times on my friend's list that my times are quite close to many of my friends in this group yet I was running 6 to 8 seconds a lap slower than the leaders. I had a hard time managing last place as I had to battle Gadget feverishly for it :) However, all things considered, Gadget and I probably had the best race and the most fun (please run RH's more often please) :) We traded places half dozen times a lap for a dozen laps and then something would happen and we'd get spread out a bit. We always seemed to catch each other back up after a bit, do it all over again and repeat the process. I would have loved to have kept the replay as it would have made a great YouTube video of what close competition and courtesy looks like in GT5. The title would have been "The Battle at the Back" demonstrating that you don't always have to be up front to have the most fun :) Kudos to Gadget for demonstrating patience and "give and take" .... he raced in the true spirit of the day (the actual 24 hours race) .... thanks bud :)

My understanding of lap times was that I would have been right up the front in the Celica at all the races, perhaps you just haven't un tapped its potential,

decided that i miight actually have a chance around nurb 24, so i might be a chance for that one, seeings that i actually know the track now :P

Will be good to have you back Mr P. Remind me which car you'll be driving because you swapped once didn't you?

To be honest I'm going to put a negatory on this one, sorry Pain.

Last race of the series and the most demanding so sit this one out bro and get yourself ready for the next one dude.

Get some consistency cranking with heavy damage and lap times, attend the practice sessions for the next series and you will see a marked improvement but best sit this one out dude.

Please don't take it the wrong way mate, come back bigger and better for the new series which won't be far off :)

no offence hp, and i guess i will take your advice but, how come youve run what 2 races out of the series so far? i dont mean this the wrong way either but from my side of the fence you dont seem to do very well at anywhere other than nurb.

but nether the less, i will sit this out then, and i will wait for the next series :) be nice to see you join us some nights for some of the C.O.C races and stock race cars :) have a good drive guys

I've had all sorts of stuff going on Pain and whilst I'd love to ignore RL for the virtual world it just isn't possible.

Whether I'm any good on other tracks depends on practice and since I've had none I'd suggest that no, I'm not as good on other tracks as I am on the nurb but I've spent scant time on that track since Feb so I'd not expect to be competitive if I raced there any time soon which is uncertain as there's every chance I'm doing a drag shift on race night and if it's anything like the 15hr shift I did this morning then I will be abstaining and going to bed instead.

Next series it would be great to have you on board mate, just remember that we will be having weekly practice runs on non race day and all drivers are requested to attend as many as possible so clear Sunday mornings from your schedule if possible :)

Cheers Mate

no problem mate :) will do, hopefully theres some decent cars in the next series, be more than willing to join in if it isnt as stressful as this one was with cars

I am unusually aroused and completely obsessed with the cars inspired by the N24 for the next series, we are just sorting the finishing touches and could be sending that final PM with all the regs any day now,

Dave, when is good for you to catch up in a room? Sunday arvo for me is best, just did a night shift then back this arvo then again at 6am then another night shift tomorrow night then sleep from Sunday morning on. Reckon 4-5 if that works then we can nail down all those pesky details :)

Hopefully that works for you?

I have a lot on this Sunday, perhaps later in the evening or better yet Monday in the early hours should be good, meaning 2-3AM

Although I love racing with you guys, I again have to pull out of our final race. Real life is making it impossible to race at night at the moment. I still enjoy endurance racing with heavy damage and hope to be a part of future events. But for now this season is over, which is a shame, as my RX7 is a joy to drive. Looking forward to the time I'll be racing you gentlemen again.
Cheers and have a great finale!
Bo

I'm having the same real life challenge as Cobani. It's early Sunday morning for me and there are errands to be run, so I'll be out for this last one.

A tad disappointed just when I think I got the Asparadrink figured out. Can manage under 3 mins passing Aremburg bridge, was looking to give you gents a good run.

Will keep checking back here for the next season. Thanks for having me.

Bob, Cobani, sorry to hear you can't make it. I can confirm the following WILL be there so far

Gadget334
I-was-ere
Pluxtheduck
Davidb
Heathenpride

Who else is joining for this scoot around the Ring in the Season Finale?

I should be, but I'm uncertain as I finish work at midnight and could potentially not wake up.

I've not run a lap in anger at the ring since the N24 either so if I do race I shall start at the back if my qual time is not up to par or if I crash as I don't want my lack of prep getting in the way of anyone else.

Mic has withdrawn from the final race for reasons known to himself and I, it is a shame but I don't blame him and next season there will be measures in place to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Please do not post here asking why he has withdrawn.

Cheers guys!

I've been watching the thread and race with Cobani sometimes. If you dont have a full field I'l like to give it a go. I've joined the room a time or two and watched. No pressure if its a problem.

Cheers

Hi SSF. If you join I guess you could take the RX7 seeing your mate Cobani won't be using it for this round....

Thanks Gadget. Been trying to get as much info as i can. i see rh and rm as the tires just didnt see how they need to be used. Also I could not find the date of the final race. I want to make sure i can commit.

thanks

The final race is tomorrow mate.

Tyre choice is up to the driver but only RH or RM can be used.

I've also already declined one late entrant so it wouldn't be fair to allow others to join I'm afraid.

The next season will start relatively soon, need to iron out some details first, and we'd love to have you on board for that mate :)

understood. not sure if i'm up for 4 hours straight anyway. if its okay i might just watch tomorrow. thanks.

Dude you're more than welcome to watch :)

Send a FR to Heathenpride as I will probably host in my lounge.

Guys, weather settings to be set to 25% at race start with changeability set to 1 based on the weather site today, it doesn't look like changing.

Race starts in 6 hours 15 min. Please arrive 15 min early to my lounge for prompt 7am(ACST) qual start.

Qual will be 1 out lap 1 hot lap then you will park to the left of turn 1, the usual deal.

Any questions?
