sounds like were going to missing a lot of people nxt weekend which is a shame :( , at least if goruk isnt racing the rest of us might have a chance of winning a race lol :P.
when will we find out what track were racing ?

Well, right now there's a chance of 90% rain saturday. So big chance i'm going to be there afterall. But yes we need to decide about the track! I think I have seen a sign of life from JT. So what does JT say?

Thanks to Symp_4000 for the fantastic job in running this show while i was gone. I think that everyone involved in the series and group appreciate the effort and fantastic graphics that he has produced in the past couple of weeks. 👍

There are a few issues that i have noticed reading through the 2 or 3 pages since i left.
1. It seems we dont need to say which tyres we are changing to since the replay now shows the info we need. I will update the rules and hopefully we wont have anymore drivers leaving by mistake.
2. Ad-hoc drivers. I notice some drivers dont like them as they tend to be slower than everyone else. I agree it must be frustrating but we need a system to get new guys in and have fuller grids. If we lose the ad-hoc drivers then we have no way of replacing guys who cant race. We were all new once (some of us are still slow...) and as long as they use this forum correctly and race fair then i dont see any reason not to let them race. I, of course, am happy to listen to any suggestions as to how to improve the series.
3. Special Stage (this Saturday). This is my thoughts.

Special Stage

5 Races.
Qualifying starts whenever the room opens on High Speed Ring. 30 mins.
High Speed Ring (Weather) / 10 Laps / 24.9 miles
(Reverse Grid)
Autumn Ring / 10 Laps / 18.3 miles
(Reverse Grid)
Deep Forest Raceway / 10 Laps / 22.4 miles
(Reverse Grid)
Grand Valley Speedway / 10 Laps / 30.7 miles
(Reverse Grid)
Trial Mountain Circuit / 10 Laps / 24.7 miles
There will be a maximum of 5 minutes between each race so make sure you know your setup for each circuit before the race.

Points
Each race has points but they only count towards the Special Stage Table. Championship points are given at the end depending on the positions in this table.
Race Points:
1st - 5pts
2nd - 4pts
3rd - 3pts
4th - 2pts
5th - 1pt
Championship Points:
As usual = 1st - 15pts, 2nd - 12pts, 3rd - 10pts etc.

All cars will be 1100kg (or 1120kg for BMW M3) so no penalty weight. Penalty weight will return for the next race.
There will be no restrictions on Tyres and no mandatory pit stops.
Normal qualifying and start times.

Special stage sounds good jt can't wait, better start tuning my car :).

I don't think the problem with ad-hoc drivers was cause they were slow it was because they couldnt control they cars and were wrecking other people races. Some of them just turned up without setting up their cars which you really cant do in these races.

And well done symp for doing a really good job running DTM2 the last few weeks

Good to have you back JT  Hope you've had a good holiday!
And as we know you, you got it all figured out. I like the idea for the SS! 👍
Will start testing the tracks right away...

And thanks for the compliments guys. It was fun to do and a nice oppertunity to update my paint and excel knowledge. JT, it's all in the dropbox folder!

yeah i know symp is fast but i think anyone can win this special event because of the reverse grid. Good defence and overtaking skills will come into play alot more which i think will make for some good replays :). Just a shame im rubbish overtaking :(

Just thought, if you change the track does the 'reverse grid' still work? If not then we will have to think about it.

Also i think the races should be standing starts just to give a bit of difference from the normal season.

if it does'nt work you could just put it on fastest first then line up in the correct order in free run because it will put the person furthest round the track in 1st place. so after the first race last place would just sit on track and everyone line up behind him then start race.

I think it will work JT, a few days a go I was in a room with Green and it was set with reverse grid start, I won a race, the track was change, and I've start the next race from the back of the grid.

Wow... i thought your name was THE Goruk :sly:

So tell me...how do you do that?

I had to subscribe to premium membership costing 8€, then ask Jordan, the site funder, to change my user name.

You really must hate number 77

BTW guys.. it's official.. I will be there Saturday! :gtpflag:

On the contrary, I have all my RM cars with it...hehehe

Don't score to much Saturday Symp :sly::lol:

hey guys is weather on high speed ring going to be fixed ie are you going to make it rain or will it be random.

Don't know about that. I'll pass that decision on to JT! But I'm trained for full rain :)
And I noticed that whatever you choose it starts raining soon anyway (unless you choose sunny and fixed of course)

I think go with rain. It is the only track in the special stage that we can put rain on. It's a pretty boring track without something to spice it up. My best was a 1.17 in the rain but i think goruk got a 1.11. But he isnt racing this week. Just have to tip-toe round when it is wet. Might put damage on light because we might not get everyone to finish if it is heavy.

just wondering cause when i was practising in rain and then the sun came it wasn't long before i could stick inter's on and do better lap times than in full rain thats why i was wondering.
Plus sometimes i thought it was harder to drive on wet track with sun out because of the sun reflecting off the track maybe thats just me lol. So its going to be fixed rain then, this is going to be scary lol :)

Damage on light may be a good idea. And maybe also for the other races tonight since there's no way to come back after a pit stop in these short races.
After a very handy tip of Goruk I managed to make a 1:10 in the rain. So for the people who didn't know this already, the tip of the day is:

Stay out of the rubber by avoiding the dry driving line!

1.10 is a good time m8, think i was around 1.11, 1.12, any time i pushed harder i would mess up :( i'll get more practise today and see if i can scrape a 1.10 lol

lol.. i though i had to share that tip because at first i was driving just the normal lines and could not even set one clean lap! But that 1:10 was on the edge. Don't think i can do that in a race cause staying on the track looks more important than setting the fastest time...
