Personally I found Forza easy to control with a pad.

GT I found quite hard when I did try a pad. I suspect that buy the time a played GT 5 I had lost all my pad skills by then though lol.

Thats partly down to PS3's pad is absolute **** when it comes to driving games...those triggers are just a pain.

GT5's driving is very surgical, very responsive however almost too precise for most road cars.I can't really comment on FM3 since I only have the ****** MS wheel and that wheel itself has a lot of slack.

It's mostly to do with the steering assist we can't turn off. Forza 4 seems like they fixed it with the steering options.

Agreed I can see that.

The people who struggle now with assists won't know whats hit them then. Lol.

The only "crossover" I could see happening is if GT has a Forza branded car in the game and visa versa (which might happen if FM3 wants to include the GT5 branded Peugeot 908 from a couple years ago in FM4) or if T10 wants to put the Citroen GT in a Forza game. Beyond that, I don't see it happening.

Depends on the year. Forza 3 had the 2007 and 2009 Pug 908s and both sported the xbox360 logos in real life. If MS wants to include the 2010 or 2011 Le Mans Pug 908 cars and their liveries, then they either have an agreement with Sony (doubtful) or they just digitally exclude the Sony/PS logos from the models.

I doubt T10 wants to put the Citroen GT car in Forza 4. Like HIGHLY doubt it.

Why not the citroen gt would be a great addition to the game and I believe Turn 10 want as many supercars they can possibly get.

There's far more and better supercars and prototypes out there than the Citroen GT. Besides, why would T10/MS want a prototype car in the game that was designed by their main competition? Makes no sense

Agreed. 👍

The GT-R? Why? It's a Nissan, they're the only ones who are in charge of it.

More recently, [Polyphony Digital] were contracted to design the multifunction display on the new Nissan GT-R,[1] which displays performance information such as G-forces, acceleration opening, brake pedal pressure, steering angle, an "optimal gearshift map," to emphasize economical vehicle operation.

Notice that the GT-R's in-car display has exactly the same graphics as GT5 Prologue's HUD.

I find it funny that T10 had to model the multi-function display for the GTR that PD designed. I wonder if T10 will venture and do some work for real world cars or will they just stick to virtual world.

I like the fact that PD work with companies like Red Bull, Nissan, Mercedes, Citroen, Toyota and the others for different tasks such as concept cars to competitions. My favourites are GT Academy, Signature Edition SLS Competition and the X2010 Vettel Challenge. The first two allow you to the chance to do real world stuff while the final one allows you to beat the current F1 World Champion. You also have the Sebastian Loeb challenge which is fun to go up against the 7 time consecutive WRC champion. These are all things that interest me and go beyond just being a game for me. GT brand is very well known too and it is awesome to hear GT being talked about recently in an F1 practice session on BBC.

I wonder if T10 will get Microsoft to help them do such a thing.

Old news is old. But, it still isn't PD's car. Also, easy solution: GT-R's screen is turned off, as it was in FM3.

Also remember that T10 was miffed 'cause they couldn't get the GT-R when Forza 3 first came out because Nissan had made deals with EA and PD before hand, so the GT-R entered the game in a DLC pack.

A lot of car companies have big partnerships with Sony and PD. Like BMW and Ferrari both use the game to test new cars. In fact, the only reason why Ferrari is in GT5 is because PD struck a deal with them that, in exchange for putting Ferrari in the game, PD would allow Ferrari to use the GT5 engine to test cars.

Citroen and Redbull have also made big alliances with PD.

Turn10 has made similar deals, especially with Audi, but none are nearly as close nit as the ones PD has managed to obtain.

Are you sure about the screen being turned off? Look at the video linked below.

Any source, proof that BMW and Ferrari use the game to test new cars? I would think it would be the likes of Citroen with the GT and Toyota with the FT-86 that would test it on there if they did. I think Kaz said some car companies do try and test the car in the game before making it but I don't think he named any manufacturers.

Got that wrong witht he GT-R, I guess it was Sift 2 that had the screen off, then.

Do you have any sources whatsoever to prove that point about "Ferrari testing cars with the GT5 engine"?
Because, frankly, I don't believe they're using somethign as rudimental as a console simcade game to "test" their cars.

If this is true then when it comes to my next car purchase CHEVY HERE I COME!!!!
I don't think a car manufacturer would want something like that to get out. I know for certain I wouldn't touch a car from a manufacturer that made that claim no matter WHAT game it was. Forza nor GT5, if that's their testing ground count me out for that car's purchase.

PD would allow Ferrari to use the GT5 engine to test cars.

"Oh, the engine blew up? We never experienced that when testing the car!"

Wait, that does make sense, that's why Ferraris are prone to spontaneous combastion!

It could also be a license thing, but all we are doing is making assumptions here.

Do you have a source on your Ferrari/BMW thing? It's the first I ever heard of Ferrari going to PD to use GT5. I'd think a company as big as Ferrari would have their own custom simulators, as most F1 teams do.

PD definitely has more connections with the auto industry than T10. Afterall PD has been contracted by a few of them to design prototypes (Citroen), aero kits (Nissan), dealer demos (MB) and even press video demos.

Red Bull seems to work with both. They worked with PD to model the X1 but Forza 3 had 2 Red Bull cars in the game, which I'd assume required some license/agreement of some sort.

If you see what happened in GT Academy how well guys there performing. than you should know it's because of that 1 game which has the real physics and the best Driving Simulator.

I wonder what would happen if FM4 would make an own academy would it pass or would it fail?? in mine opinion FM4 is a good game no doubt about it like GT5. but i think FM4 is more like a Need for Speed game or something not a 100 % ''real driving simulator'' i have played it alot but it looks like more a normal Arcade game than a Real Driving Simulator. Which i think those guys at the Academy wouldn't feel the same on the real track. and using a kinect doesn't make it a real driving simulator but more an Arcade game.

GT5 - GT Academy ( Proved that they feel the same on the track i asked Lucas Ordonez on Facebook je Facebook because he will watch your comments and maybe answer them if you have luck and he said it feels the same GT5 and Real the only difference is that you are outdoors and at home Indoors with your stuff ). GT got also contracts with other companies which makes the game more intresting. if Kaz comes with new Cars and some new updates like new tracks than people will forget maybe the game FM4 :DD.

FM4 - No Academy - Good Game , But it is in mine opinion just a Arcade game with some Couple of 100 and more cars. I like the game the tyres are great but it's not a game where you think this is it ! i found a Driving Simulator Game !.

Who cares, anyways? The only car that I'd ever give a hoot about that PD had their hands on is the GT-R, and the Spec V was in FM3, so that's covered.

They can keep their Citroen GT and their X2010 or whatever they did to themselves, for all I care.
Hell, looking at the Citroen GT in GT5, what the hell did they do there in the first place? You can't even see out of the front of that darn Bat Mobile, let alone any other direction

Leave the car designing to car companies and go work on your game, damnit! Would help GT6 much more to come along nicely.

Would you mind borrowing that time machine of yours to me?

Another guy to speak without knowing anything, apopearently not even that the game isn't even out yet - and given that you've said "FM4" like five times in that post, it's no typo, either.

Also, might I mention thhat Lucas Ordonez, for example, had real life racing experience before pariticipating in GT Academy? Was handily mentioned during Le Mans this year, but strangely, Sony never seems to mention it, let alone their devotees.

Also, go play a PC sim, if you want a true driving simulator (as far as games go, obviously).

If you claim GT is a sim, then you must do the same for Forza.
Likewise, if you claim that Forza is an arcade game, you must do the same with GT.

Is that serious about Ferrari using GT5 to test cars. Honestly.

I'd like to see that confirmed. I've never seen that anywhere around here. Im sure the GT section would have that info.

Pretty sure Jordan would have posted that in the news section too, has he?
