Formula 1 Gran Premio de España Santander 2012

Ginsters starting 2nd!

Hamilton looks like he's out of petrol. It's going to be an interesting race...

Great lap by Alonso - looks like Ferrari have made a step in the right direction, although Massa is being Massa.

Cracking lap by LH too. 👍

They need to crack down on this "not running a lap in Q3" malarky though, its a bit of a joke.

Wonder what the odds on the front two taking each other out at the first corner are...

Anyone know what the problem with Hamilton's car is?
As Martin Brundle said, all the teams would have been running very light on fuel to get the most out of the car. McLaren and Hamilton were obviously a bit too light on fuel to make it back to the pit lane. :sly:

EDIT: Spoke too soon! There was indeed an actual problem with the car. I probably missed that during the ad break...

You don't get a WDC for performing the best in qualifying so it has to be sacrificed for race strategy sometimes. It sucks for spectators, but it's all about the win in the end...

Geez! Hamilton, but what an effort by Maldonado. Love to see Williams back up The front on actual pace.
I think we can say with a lot more certainty now that this years Williams has proper pace; considering that Maldonado has been up there all weekend with consistent track conditions. I honestly wouldn't have expected this at the begging of the season since the car hardly seemed any different from last years atrocity, but what they have done has worked for them! :)

While I don't agree with banning the blown diffusers, though I agree with the engine-mapping crackdown, it's hard to argue with the results... Look at how damn close this field is...

Now all we have to do is find a way to slow down that McLaren...

Wow. Senna's spin was pathetic.

I can already see another flame war ensuing with this statement, better stay out of it.

Congratulations Hamilton and Maldonado, but high chance of both of them trying to pass one another and contact is almost likely. After all, this is Hamilton and Maldonado we're talking about.

I thought it wasn't fuel. I knew there was something wrong with the car. I just didn't know what.

Liquid
He's right, though. Under pressure or not, it was a rudimentary corner and he totally fluffed it with an insane amount of kerb. While he was 18th.

Spot on description of what happened.

Man, that was some really intense 🤬

Hamilton on pole - WOOPEE :) (hopes pit crew have had training)

Maldonado - great job, that was a really impressive performance. 👍

Red Bull; nowhere to be seen, just the way I like it :P

Lotus Renault; a handy starting position for both their drivers, could be interesting.

I watched the whole thing on BBC, so much better than Sky...

Lee McKenzie is so much better than Georgie Thomas as well, good to see her again :P

I don't either I just don't like the chicane before the last corner and as for Senna Mansell in '91 I can't comment on it as A) I was only 3 and B) I haven't seen it so I can't make comment on it.

No problem young man. Take pen and paper and listen carefully at the comments of mister Walker and mister Hunt :)

Moment supreme is at 01:20

Thanks and I bow down to your superior knowledge and age lol. I don't think any commentator can replace Murray as the best F1 commentator.
