As someone who's never really watched F1, I have this irrational dislike of Max Verstappen for really no other reason than he has a really punchable face and I was glad he didn't win. Past that, I don't think I really have a driver and/or team I'm rooting for per se.

Also, what is this crap that there's a time limit on races? Let them race the full length. The only timed races should be endurance races.
It was a lot easier to choose a favourite motorsport team back in the day. You just went with your favourite brand of cigarette.

Where was the race? There was nonsense with the rain and switched places because of tyre gambles/guessing, but no racing that I recall of as usual. Just people driving way under 100% knowing they can't be passed without a big mistake.
At this point let's just turn this into an exhibition race with karts around there.

Ugh, couldn’t watch the race, but watching the live post show now. Perez won?! Jfc what happened lol, sounds like Ferrari ****ed up Charles chance at victory. Russell still very consistent.

From the one replay they showed from Charles' POV it looked like he was just on the line, not over it. Picture wasn't very clear though.
Drivers may not touch the line at all.
Front tires aren’t, but a snap of oversteer caused the rearleft to touch it.

Jan Lammers said on Dutch television that if Max didn’t reacted, he would hit the Armco and nobody could pass. Which is dangerous and therefor Verstappen will not have a penalty for it.
I also agree, since Leclerc hit the pitentry line several times in Saudi-Arabia and nothing happened there.
On the other hand, wouldn’t be the first time stewards give a penalty to Max, and let others run away with the same or even worse action(s).

Can’t tell from this still, moving images give a better perspective.
From this picture I can’t see if the line ended here or not.

Edit: it is not over the line. Drivers may touch it.
This has been clearified since 2020

Stewards don't take anything like that into consideration. Rules are rules.
Untill last year, yes.
This year the focus more on the sport and less on the rulebook, it seems.

Binitto now aims at Perez and Verstappen for crosssing the line.

Regardless of the outcome of this protest, this sentiment of focussing on the sport more this year is rubbish. They've been nitpicking the hell out of most things.

In this instance, Binotto is right, race directors notes say stay to the right of the line until it ends at the exit of St. Devote. Verstappen didn't do this, I didn't see the Perez one. It should be a slam dunk penalty if he has gone onto the line in anyway.

Dutch TV don't think Max did anything wrong, shocker.

Drivers may not touch the exit line, the rulebook may imply they can, but the race directors notes say they can, that takes precedent. Leclerc going across the pit entry line, first and foremost wasn't protested as far as I know, Max just whined a bit (know he would do the same thing anyway). Monaco pit exit is a very different beast, and given the proximity of Leclerc, I suspect an unbiased official would penalise Verstappen and Perez should they be found to have touched it.

It is Jan Lammers. Not Dutch TV.
If it is fair, he will say so.

Jan Lammers, Dutch racing driver on Dutch TV. It's you who said he said it on Dutch TV. Now you're saying it isn't?

Either way, bias central.

I would like to invite you to watch it yourself. If you can hear it.
I am saying that your false comment perhaps is the case for television in your home country, but it isn’t for Jan Lammers.
He is straight, regardless who he is talking about. Could be Verstappen, Leclerc, Hamilton, Alonso. If it is fair, it is fair, if it is bad, he calls it.

Well unless Jan has all the data and angles to analyse it then he his comment is as false as any. There's no false comment coming from me but the race directors notes are clear. All in saying is IF he is found to have touched the line, he should be penalised.

Dutch TV has been extremely biased, and that includes Lammers as well whenever he was on (haven't seen Viaplay yet, but it definitely was that way on Ziggo)
It's the reason why I switched to English commentary on F1TV. They have their own biases, but not nearly as bad as the Dutch broadcast

Agree with Ziggo. That was a fanclub, instead of a commentatorship.

The reason why the start was delayed:

Just noticed Checo is only 15 points behind Max now. If he keeps this performance up for Baku, we'll see if Red Bull was serious when they told Perez he won't have to play No2 this season.
