When did they ask Bottas to let HAM pass within the first five races of a season when the title was still wide open?
They dont have to ask via radio, it could be done behind closed doors, could be rando engine change like last year or box orders that lets lewis through

And Perez has been pitted for a chance at the fastest lap...almost feels like Red Bull trying to toss him a participation trophy.

So you don't have any evidence then. Got it.

They're just giving VER the chance to do the same.

There was absolutely no reason to not go for it. He had a free stop, so why wouldn't they?

Assuming Yuki is on relatively fresh softs, it looks like Mick is going to miss out on a points finish again.

E: And there it goes... those mediums are long past their sell by date!

Mexico last year.
Bottas gets 1st in sprint.
Gets engine change.
Gets put to the back of the grid
1 or 2 rounds later, swapping back to another engine.
Loses grid places.

Austria 2002. Oh wait, wrong team and it was the 6th race. Same energy, though.

Mexico. Race 18. Bottas not in the title contention. Even if your suggestion of purposeful sabotage is true, which is a huge stretch, it would have still made sense to do at that stage. It doesn't this early in the season.

1) Mexico didn't have a sprint race last year.

2) Mexico was the 18th round of the season, during a still very active championship fight. That's a tad more excusable than round 6 out of 22.

Shame Bottas couldn’t hold 4th, but bother great result for him. Russell is such a consistent driver, what a superb drive for Mercedes so far 👍

It's absolutely terrible. The whole point of a drone shot is to give you something you can't get with any other camera, to track fast moving objects. With the way this one is running, it's just a worse heli shot.
I don't know, would be sort of funny if they tried it at Monaco or Baku. Both tracks offer good chances for drone to say hello to building.

Wonder what happened that made it a DNF risk now versus something they could've managed before.
I did hear "Water Leak" so running out of coolant will be a DNF type thing compared to just a straight overheat by running too close or putting too much load on the PU.

Strange, all the people who always criticized HAM for "moaning" in the last few years were very quiet about VER moaning and raging for multiple laps because his DRS wasn't working.

Anyway, Sergio Rubens Perez certainly knows his place in the team now, if he wasn't already sure.

Bottas was excellent today.

Second Driver Syndrome is in full effect; look Bottas at Mercedes compared to Bottas at Alfa and then look at Perez at Red Bull compared to Perez at Racing Point. Not that Perez drove badly but being the number two for an A* team, that's just how it is.
