Been seeing a hell of a lot of disappointment surrounding this game...I'll have to truly see for myself on Tuesday, fingers crossed all is well...

The core of the game is great, but it seems everybody has at least 1 thing they don't like (for me it's the lack of a Storefront, for others it's the VIP Pass) and when you all up all those different things it can seem overwhelming.

So as it turns out, when the AI is driving the VW Bus it's almost guaranteed to fall over on its side if they go over a kerb. I just finished a race at Dubai where two of them managed to block the entirely of the track and hold up the entire field until they finally got righted.

It drives great for a game that doesn't aim to be a serious simulation, but the whole experience also feels like Turn 10 didn't have a very clear vision this time around. It doesn't really bother me though because I plan to make nearly all of my progress in Free Play, which has been improved considerably over FM6. There's also Forzathon lurking right around the corner, so I imagine that will be fun. Bug fixes are desperately needed though, so hopefully there'll be a decent patch shortly after the official release date.

That was fast, people finding farming methods already ;)

It gets even more efficient:

  • Change the game mode to Timed Race.
  • Set the timer to 30 seconds.
  • Choose Restart after you finish a race.
Now you don't even have to drive and get around 9000 XP per minute once loading times are factored in.

This is the kind of thing That happens, when they want to put these silly FE or HE cars with added bonuses in a Motorsport game. :) You think they would of learned after the great "Drift Exploit and Wall Tap Extravaganza of Fall 2016" that happened in FH3. I drifted for hours upon hours that fall, I don't remember much from that time, I was in a dark place....

I can live with the loot crates and VIP pass to an extent, but Rivals and Multiplayer both need massive changes. Homolgation would be fantastic if it was an OPTIONAL lobby on rotation or an OPTIONAL rivals leaderboard, but I'm already bored of multiplayer three races (and two people smacking me off track) in because there's no variety anymore.

I wouldn't consider it a glitch, because you don't have to do anything special.

It's more like finding a really good, but completely legal shortcut. :P
Yep, and it's all part of the ultimate edition, because I guarantee you this will be patched before or on Tuesday's release. They want to take our 2x VIP away, sure that's fine....:sly:

I'm pretty sure T10 knew people were gonna be searching for a way to grind, so they just enabled it in the most boring manner possible. Why else would they put such a large bonus on that particular track and vehicle combo?

Personally I've been using the Escort FE to do quick night races, the XP bonus is almost as much and it's not anywhere near as mind numbing. :P

Watch that car get patched in the next update :scared:

Race lengths can be extended in the Forza Driver's cup, by going to the setup/assist, down at the bottom of the list is career settings where you can change the from standard/long/extra long, probably depended on the track but the lengths can be 2 laps/7 laps/21 laps
Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks!

To note: I'm trying the Ram XP tactic now, gathering XP as we speak. :P

I'm going to be honest... I don't know if I like the whole car collector thing and how a fee cars are locked, I mean I like how it does make me play the career, and I am having fun with it. I'm just so used to every car being available from the start.

See post #263 above. Do this. Get lots of cars fast. Enjoy. Have a nice evening.:lol:

HAHA! I tested one of my cars. Did a few laps at the Top Gear Test track and guess what? It used up my mods!! I guess the game saw it as racing and applied the mod bonus for taking turns properly. Problem is, there was no actual race since I was just Test Driving, so no rewards!!! Rare mods lost!

Unbelievable...

Anyone else having audio issues with certain cars around specific tracks? Most cars sound like they're misfiring around Catalunya for instance, it's a bit like the popping of a popcorn machine. My Cayman GT4 does it pretty much everywhere, it's a bit annoying.

Did that. Goes faster when you’re watching YouTube videos too. Just park and let the clock run down.

Got to Tier 10 and Driver Level 89, got so many cars and one Driver Gear... Knight of the Round Circuit (Travel into a fantasy realm where you'll need to watch for dragons, evil wizards, and rust.).

I'm done for tonight lol, hopefully **** will still be exploitable tomorrow.

Got my first Forza Edition car from a level-up. At level 105, I was allowed to choose a 1993 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R Forza Edition for free. I couldn't refuse. :sly:

Oh buying from the Specialty Dealer has a neat little thing. I bought all 3 cars offered (Falcon XY, MX5 Super20, Nismo GTR LM), now go to your garage. Go to the cars you bought and you’ll see a Production Run graphic showing the number you bought (?) and purchase date. For example, my GTRLM is #5095.

I wonder when the dealer changes inventory does the value of the cars calculate based on your number?

Early first impressions all from Free Play:
-Environments look stunning with the new sky box. COTA showing sun & shadows with the SV looked gorgeous. As did Sebring. However, on Hockenheim & Laguna Seca, didn't get anything drastically different, I have read its random on Free Play though & on a second go at Laguna, it did show a bit more shadow.

-Car sounds are improved. I'm sure faults are to be found on individual cars, but the ones I've tried are good enough for me. However, much like I found inthe demo with the GT-R, the F50's in-car audio has a weird reverberation, as if it was captured from someone mic'ing the car whilst it was on a dyno inside somewhere; the reverb sounds like the exhaust bouncing off the walls of a building.

-Biggest flaw found so far; new cars look good. Old car with the F50 has a glaring fault I can show from a couple quick grabs off the phone. I know this isn't the most ideal comparison, but going into photomode on FM7 seems to correct some of the flaws. The top is FM6, the middle is FM7, & the bottom is of course, real.

Most noticeable are the areas where the grille curves downward where as in FM7, the model just slants down. The trim piece around the grille and taillights is more pronounced in FM6 as well just as you can see it in the real car. The area around the exhausts in FM7 is quite round as well as is the area the plate goes on. Now, I've only seen the car on Laguna so far, but I'm not expecting a major difference in a different environment. Both cars are also, not 100% faithful at the end of the day either if one spends enough time looking. But, my critique is that FM7 looks like it took a step back on the player model because in photomode, the areas at the top of the grille are curved as they were in FM6. And this worries me a bit if some of the cars I raced a lot in the previous game look like they have similar flaws.

It's not a game breaker & I'm willing to give it a pass IF the game corrects these sort of adjustments by being meant to be played on the One X where the game can shine. For now though, it irks me a lot.

Could have sworn my post was deleted...Oh well, let's give it another go. Is there an option to do multiclass racing in Free Play?

It should still be “exploitable” after the game comes out for everyone else it’s just the race settings and the type of car that’s being used were not altering the game.
