Would it be worth getting FM7 now with all the updates since launch?
Yeah its a no brainer, you can buy it for like 35$. It was worth it at launch, now its even more worth it with all the updates and content it got recently. At launch there where here and there litlle problems but the game was still the best Forza and one of the best racing games of this gen. But just don't expect AC or PC level of simulation, its not that hardcore.

Yes, it's not even comparable to when it came out last September. I'd say it's a bit more like FM6.75 now, bringing back everything that was good about FM6 and just improving over it.

This shall now be the official "GTPlanet Superfriends mega cool leaderboard" or something, since we're the only ones doing it.

And here's a clip from a lobby yesterday, highlighting the different ways to build A-class cars, including my crap camera work.

The new Aston AMR1 is super competitive with the Mazda 787b. The Mazda is a little better in the corners but on the straights that AMR will catch it. Now to test it against the other group C cars.
The Jaguar XJR-9 and Sauber C9 are the Leaderboard Cars for that Division.

On the Track Day rivals, how do you disable the other cars? I don’t recall there being other cars on the track while setting times in rivals beforehand. I ask because when I check the #1 gamertag replay, they are the only car on the track, so I must be missing something. I checked all the options, but don’t see anything.

Some things I’ve noticed that was fixed:

- Dash view #2, without steering wheel, for the 2003 Audi RS6 no longer has a hole in it where you see the road beneath. I believe other cars had this same issue, Lambo Miura comes to mind (haven’t tested it)

- In rivals, when you choose a car, then color, the car body continues rotating but the wheels don’t, so it looked like the body was coming off. Haven’t seen it happen from the few rivals I’ve tried so far.

Worth it at launch I absolutely disagree. So many bugs, many features still “coming soon”. But fast forward to today for $35 I absolutely agree it’s worth it.

One of the best of this gen I agree it’s up there with GT:Sport. That is another title that had its launch problems (was scarce on content) but the monthly free additions of cars and tracks has been awesome. Also the introduction of the GT League has been great, even though it absolutely feels like it was added after launch and not being a core gameplay experience like in previous GT games.

You guys should do a weekly focus of a certain track and a certain car class so we can all focus on the same event instead of picking one of the 1800 combinations. :)

From judging the leaderboards this morning it seems Forza players are lazy and they just start with the first Bernese Alps tracks. :) I did a D class race in the wet on Spa and I was the only one on the leaderboards. Meanwhile the first Bernese Alps track in D class had nearly 60 people. :)

Go to the Microsoft Store > Menu button with 3 dots > Downloads and Updates > Get Updates

It should start downloading after that.

Thanks a million for this. I already copied it down in a notebook for future references.

Also...

The Drifting Suspension can be put onto the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor? Interesting!

The graphical glitch in Forzavista has been fixed. 👍

^ That isn't being upset?

No, that's asking a question out of curiosity. Then I explain how I see it, suggesting that there's probably more incentive to do custom races since these offer the same driving experience against the AI with post-race rewards as icing on the cake. I was trying to offer an eye opener - unless of course you could explain why there's incentive to use the new test drive mode. Someone else eventually explained it then.

Anyway, there is nothing "nonsense" about what's being spoke about here. I simply told you that the AI are no different to their racing counterparts. That was it.

The nonsense I was referring to is how the conversation derailed when you suddenly blamed me for being upset. I asked a few questions and you somehow ended up being offended by it.

You just decided to extend the coversation with the "What's the big deal then?" and thus here we are. We can have a conversation if it doesn't result into an argument.

Again, I don't know how my question was taken as the beginning of an argument. Keep in mind that you initially went "HOLY CRAP" about the new game mode. You made it seem like a big deal, so don't act surprised when subsequent questions follow from people trying to understand what has happened.

Then maybe I'll explain better next time if it helps.

Thanks. Let's move on.

If you're not a tuner I can understand how it may seem useless to you, but the fact that we had to jump through 26 different menus just to test out the tune we just made was kind of annoying. That it's now easy to access is practically godsend for that group.

To put it simply, there is no reason that test drive should be substituted in place of custom races, There's no point in that. The Point of it is to test out your vehicle, and now that it's there, it's much easier to do so without having to jump through so many hoops.

I think I'm going to bite the bullet today and re-download the game. Lets see how rusty I am.

Yes, like I said in the part you quoted, someone explained it after the conversation had derailed.

But yeah, I never really tune my cars. That probably explains why I didn't get the excitement at first, and the prospect of a track day vibe just sounded too good to be true.

Yeah, that's why I edited that part out :embarrassed:

Yeah I can understand why you're not as excited about it as others. I've tuned every car that I've planned to use, so the fact this feature is back is going to make my playing experience that much better.

Gotta. 👍

As it was explained above, it pretty much makes things easier and faster. I used it many times last night and boy is it a wonderful addition.
The nonsense I was referring to is how the conversation derailed when you suddenly blamed me for being upset. I asked a few questions and you somehow ended up being offended by it.
Well then sorry for putting you against the wall man. I wasn't actually offended by anything. Was only giving you what I "thought" was the same AI as racing against them.
Again, I don't know how my question was taken as the beginning of an argument. Keep in mind that you initially went "HOLY CRAP" about the new game mode. You made it seem like a big deal,
Haha, sorry. :P It was due to the fact that I never expected such a feature to be added to Forza.

It's why I gotten so excited and wanted others to know about it, because I was sure it would have been something they would greatly enjoy for fun. :)
so don't act surprised when subsequent questions follow from people trying to understand what has happened.
Okay. I'll keep that in mind. 👍
Thanks. Let's move on.
No worries man. It was fun while it lasted, hehe.

hello guys, I just joined, I greet everyone, sorry my English, I have a problem with the game fm7 on xbox one, I bought it 15 days ago, I installed it but the circuits of homestead and indianapolis do not load, the game stops and I have to close and restart, some championships I can not complete them for this reason, some of you have had similar problems or know how they can solve? thank you

Seeing all these improvements in the game have inspired me to to try to make some improvements in my driving. To do that, I'm going to have to stop using the assists. So I've turned off traction and stability control. I'm going to take a few days to get used to that. Then I'll turn off ABS and get used to that. Then finally it will be time to switch to manual. But I reserve the right to switch back to any previous assist at any time, because I play this game to have fun, not become a World E-Sport Champion.

It’s a lot more fun. I turned all that stuff off when Forza 6 came out, and went to a manual with clutch. I can’t stand having any of that stuff on now. You have so much more control over the car. My times have gotten way better too, I’m not nearly as fast as some people on here, but my times have improved quite a bit, and it doesn’t take me nearly as long to set a good time. I don’t even turn TCS on the high powered race cars anymore. 👍

Do it!!! I found that i've enjoyed the game more with every assist i've turned off, with the exception of the driving line, which just made the game require too much memorization. But no ABS and manual clutch have been super duper fun and rewarding to master (manual clutch more for the drifting than anything else.)

But also, I don't and won't judge you for finding your comfort zone and hanging out there in whatever way makes the game most enjoyable for you.

How well it goes also depends a lot on the car class and division, drive train etc. I love driving the cars up to A or S class without assists but for example for an LMP1 I prefer to have some (just like it is in real life). But especially for the classic cars you get a lot more feel (and personality) from the cars without assists.

I don't think I'll ever be able to play a racing game with manual clutch unless I decided to go get a wheel. Pressing the clutch button feels awkward on a controller when I have to brake.

Yep same, manual w/o clutch feels wrong for me on my controller too, but I love it on my rig (for the proper cars, as soon as it's about modern GT or prototype racing then I prefer the paddle shifters behind the wheel.)

Chiming in to co-sign on @prousonhairy's points. I turned off everything back when I first started playing Forza (just before FM4's launch), at the time under that misguided idea of "hardcore"-ness. But since then, I keep them off in 98% of cases because I just enjoy the experience more. I wish the clutch wasn't such an on/off affair, and I'll occasionally turn on TCS for high-powered race cars. But I love the feel of no-ABS braking in Forza, with a pad or wheel. It's easily one of the most satisfying iterations I've found in any title in two decades, which is saying something.

That being said, I do hope the Turn 10 team has a rethink of the driving aids for FM8. I really like approach PCARS2/AC has, with "real" settings. Of course, that then drops the devs down into another rabbit hole. No two traction control systems are created equal...

You know what has improved my braking of late? Braking with my middle knuckle instead of my fingertip, way more control on the pressure and modulation. I've checked the telemetry and I achieve around 80% which is the ideal, this also has allowed me to brake better on straight line without downshifting.
For acceleration I actually use the middle knuckle of my ring finger (!), again, better modulation and less wheelspin, which has made me use the TCS less and less (I also tune the race diff. for that.)
Finally it is worth trying lowering vibration to 50% or less, I feel the feedback is better all around.

You should all try the Ultima out without any assists. Its a lot of fun, but its also a lot of hard work.

I have barely played FM7 also, but given this new update; I think I may be about to make a return myself. I had a quick go yesterday, I am pleasantly surprised. I also think the drift suspension will be a very good upgrade for racing as well as drifting, I see potential for it.
