Ah, glad you got a race in! Glad you hit your targets as well. Interesting that you used the BMW, was it just something that suited your driving?

Chosen partly because I just don’t like following the crowd, but I feel more comfortable in FRs. DBR9 is my go-to but it felt cumbersome here. Only bought the Z4 this week, never used it before, but it just clicked.

I must’ve jumped up into a higher B split - that 8th place was worth 20 more points than my previous best scores this year, and they were better finishes.

Last nights Nations Cup was brilliant. The open strategy options really spiced up the racing despite there being some META cars.

I opted to run the Lancer, and whilst it's single lap pace wasn't even close to threatening the BRZ-fest (over half of the 13 car field was in one) in Qualifying. The Lancer's ability to set consistent lap times without worrying about fuel on the Hard tyres meant that the P10 starting position was a P6 by race end (narrowly missing a Top 5).

And it was refreshing to have some clean racing given the speed differences between the tyres.

Did a no stop hards in the 911 for P7 in the end for this one with just over 200 points.

Not too happy with the ending though, last lap another Porsche came up alongside me after turn 6 and lost it on the exit, with their car having snap oversteer into me; causing me to lose traction onto the green exit kerb and hit them back into the wall as I try to save the car from spinning. Racing incident ultimately, but it never feels nice to end someone's race, no matter the circumstance.

Had 2 people doing no stop mediums on the last lap either spin or lose the ability to turn, so that was another couple freebies in the final sector, it was overall quite a nice race and I enjoyed the challenge of keeping the tyres alive.

Funniest part was me somehow queueing into Race C at the 10pm slot instead of the nations race, as I tunnel-visioned into Catalunya No Chicane and must've just autopiloted my way into C.

Guess i will be only person in Beetle in 7p slot in America, just gotta get in front of the BRZ meta users, and hopefully doing a no stop on hards will be an advantage, not a hindrance.. But the Beetle actually runs pretty well on tires and if the get lower, seems to keep quite bit of grip

Oh hey guy. Thanks for punting me out of 2nd on the last lap at nations a few weeks ago. Really appreciated the acknowledgment too
Did you watch back that one? I had been forced to brake on the dirty tyres, thanks to that character who in turn had punted me the lap prior.

In fact, if he hadn't punted me from 2nd place, you never would have even been in 2nd place at that point anyway.

But anyways, I even took the liberty of braking earlier than I could have, and it just didn't arrest the speed the same way it had the entire rest of the race.

It was a shame cos the 16 laps prior were some of the best racing I've been a part of to date, was talking with Jester and aside from that guy doing what he does, it really was anyone's win.

Still, much as I know I'm not getting an apology from him anytime soon, you may have an apology from me. I hope our next encounter is more enjoyable.

My guy, I lead you the entire race. I wasn’t lucky to be there, you were. I only fell because of my own incident where I did everything I could to avoid ruining the others races and had no issues with giving up places to right wrongs. I worked my way back fairly.

Now mr orange did little to disrupt your braking here, no one hit you from behind. You missed the braking point and did nothing to avoid me. If anything you turned towards me instead of just going on straight which would have been the reasonable thing to do. Further, you dipped on off with only the penalty you got causing the redress.

Dirty tires or not, it’s your own ability and judgement to avoid other people, and if you’re going to be all ‘OMG GAIZ I NEWRLY HAD 2ND SO FUN’ after the race than a simple ‘sorry for the punt it was an error’, you’re going to rub people the wrong way.

Anyway, this is old news and now I’ve had the opportunity to confront you about it I’m done with it.

Wow, ok, joined a lobby only to have a server error straight away. That's slot 1 scratched 🤦‍♂️
Same. Tried to join Euro slot 2. List of players came up, then kicked out with an error message.
Chupapi had to miss 2 slots in a row last night due to this.

He was baffled, thinking that the storm in his area might've had something to do with it.

Apparently not.

Well, I ended up in a really fast low A+ lobby and I helped myself by screwing up my qualifying lap, so I started last :banghead:

I really feel unconfortable with the BRZ, so I used the Porsche and the hard no stop strategy, hoping for the best :ill:

The best was a 10th place, so at least I finished not last :dopey: Although, for the first time ever, I needed to do tyres saving in the last laps as best as possible, 'cause I started to struggle :scared: In fact the only thing that permitted me to stay in 10th is because the BRZ behind me finished the fuel on the final corner :P

You're right, again I'm sorry. I'll learn and do better next we meet. Cheers.

Did a slot with my Canadian Alt. Q3 with a Huracan on pole, BRZs 2nd 4th and 6th, another Porsche 5th.

Ran conservative into turn 1 rather than try and overtake p2 on cold tyres. Turned to be a wise choice as p2 was running on softs. So were p4 and p6. By lap 4 p4 was pushing his way past and on lap 5 p6 did the same. As I ended lap 5 I was down to p5 but then both of the push to pass BRZs pitted. Back to p3. The BRZ who started second had cleared out to a 7 second lead and then pitted end of lap 6. Suddenly p2 behind the Huracan. For the next couple of laps I tracked constantly about 4 seconds behind the leader before another BRZ on a no stop loomed large in my mirrors. When he caught my slip it heralded 2 great laps of racing with several position changes. In the end he drove brilliantly to set me up for a turn 1 overtake and then he was gone.

I brought it home for p3, 4 seconds behind the Huracan and 2 seconds behind the BRZ.

Finally had a chance to do a Manu race. Was one of two Corvettes. Not a strong track for me but stuck it on P9. That starts you right on the hairpin. Was into 7th by end of the lap thanks to spinners. Pitted for Softs and came out in 12th. Had a 10 second gap between car in front and 5 seconds to car behind so was in my own for 12 laps. Final lap was back to 7th with 6th just in front with cold hard tires. 8th had brought the gap down to about 2 seconds. Had to take the corkscrew slow to avoid the slower car in front, then final corner I went down the inside to take him. Out of the blue, the Japanese guy in 8th dived from nowhere and punted me into the side of 6th and I ended up in the dirt. Of course it was intentional so he didn’t stop and took 6th for himself. 8th for me with about 128 points or something.

Manufacturers GT2 Asia/Oceania slot 1
Nissan SILVIA spec-R AERO (S15) Touring Car

I had little time to practice that one, so decided to just jump in the first slot and use it as practice.

Qualif Q7, quite a bit better than I what thought I would do. Start on hard, pit to soft end of lap 1.
Lack of understanding of the track made me do quite a few mistakes, but my pace was not massively off the other early pitters.
P7 on last lap after everyone had their 1 stop, fairly OK with that.

Then P6 completely miss his braking point at the corkscrew, cut the whole corner and I find them trying to reaccelerate at the bottom.
I go on the outside, but somehow they decide that the right thing to do is to push me in the sand while I'm passing.
Finish P8, a bit upset, especially since they leave the lobby instantaneously without a word.

Oh well. Not a terrible result considering I didn't put any time in the combo, but still leaves a bad taste, and don't feel like going again.
Since I started the sport mode a few months ago, races have been really clean for me, so I don't have a lot of immunity :ill:

I'm in the Silvia today as well,

Not had much practice plus maybe had too much wine last night 🤦‍♂️
Race pace is around 1:27.5 average, depending on getting a good run or making friends with Barry R.

Uneventful in the Vantage. Started 6th on hards. Lost a couple of places on lap 1 but didn’t matter as they were on softs, as were rest of top 7. Pitted at end of lap 1, clear track ahead but just didn’t have the pace coming through the slower cars to clear many of the late-stoppers. Ended up 6th again. Meh.

Porsche Cayman….Not much practicing, slot 1 starting 13th with a pathetic 1:30, while leader at 1:27. I decided to go hard tyres at start and hope the rest fight for 13 laps on their soft.

Race started, and one behind one in front did the same and pitted. But then someone Pit in lab 4 and 5….and I decided to take a spin on that weird downhill chican(?) because why not. Back to last. Race ended with me 12th.

I think I will skip next slot and watch how people take a couple of corner because I feel I’m breaking too early on some.

I swear this game penalises you for entering the pits too quickly. There's no reason it should take you 35 seconds to get to your pitbox!

Other than that, I can't really complain. I was able to have a nice clean race thanks to only 12 people making it to the grid (I qualified 8th, 1.2 secs off pole) which I was able to turn into 5th thanks to being able to run in clean air for 13 laps, and I only got pipped for 4th when exiting the pits.

Uh... guys... when are we supposed to be able to see the points we scored? Last time out it was imidiately after the race but my 61 points don't show... Do I have to exit the game or something?

qualified pole, had an awesome fight with the Spanish driver in second till lap 9 when we lapped a car in the turn before the corkscrew. I missed the braking point because of that and ended in the gravel. Repeated same mistake a lap later and quit on an impulse. Silly thing to do in retrospect, would still have had a podium. So will go again at 17.00 expecting mot to dissapointment myself again.

In practice the car felt great and did what I asked albeit at my snails pace.

Qualified P7 with a 29.1 which was my fastest lap so far.
Race starts me right at the last turn. So I am therefore 1.6 seconds off P6 at the line! WTF PD! Luckily P8 fared worse. Thanks to a couple of mistakes I'm up to 5th and in a group battling. Then my nemesis Understeer makes an appearance. I run wide at turn 4. Despite the car being able to go across the outfield currently the car spins to the inside and I end up with all the damage (literally!) and sluggish up the hill. I loose a couple of places and am now behind a Supra that started P2. We battle for a couple of laps before they run wide at Rainey and I go underneath them. However I then run wide after glancing the sausage at T6 and they are back past.
I pit lap 13 with everyone else. I am unsure where everyone else is but a German is suddenly on my inside at T4 and I have to make space and once again run wide. Thankfully there is a nice gap behind. But really that's not an overtaking space and they would have had a great run into T3 on the softs so just wait rather than send me off! I finish P10 in the end so I get my target of top 10's.

Now for a couple of week's break from GTWS due to my wedding. Good luck to everyone for the next few rounds.

Wasn’t expecting to do well but wanted to enter my first GTWS race of the season. Finished 13th last time at this track in a weaker lobby. Aimed to try and get a top 10.

Surprised myself putting in a qualifying lap faster than my free practice time and it got me 4th!! Started on Hards so pitted end of lap. Did lose a place to a Soft runner on the first lap.

Blew it really. Ended up wasting loads of time defending against a Jag nearly the whole race. Was fun and a good clean battle but it allowed others to catch. Then lap 11 I got a track limit pen on the corkscrew losing a place and and then made a few little mistakes after losing concentration allowing me to get caught again. Finished 9th :guilty:

I wish I’d just let the Jag past and kept it steady. Would have finished 6th. A result I would have been happy with before the race is actually now really disappointing.

No practice. The stupid penalty line meant I started... oh, somewhere near the back. Finished 10th. Had a nice incident with a TCR driver in an SLS who barged his way past me through two consecutive corners and did the same to a Subaru later on. Meh.

Also discovered the Silvia can't flash its headlights, I think.

Now for a couple of week's break from GTWS due to my wedding. Good luck to everyone for the next few rounds.

Congrats on the wedding, OJ! I hope you have a good time!

I think I need a shower after today's race. Those kerbs at Laguna Seca scare the hell out of me!

My race went really well, but damn did I have to give it everything. I broke into the high 1:26s in free practice during matchmaking, but then when qualifying came around I just couldn't hook it up and kept setting mid 1:27s. Then on my final lap, I managed to pull it together and set a near-personal best 1:26.844 to take P5. Couldn't have come at a better time. :D

I started on Softs and was just off the pace of the cars in front... and the Ford behind. It eventually caught me on lap 4 and got past at turn 5. 3 laps later however, it went wide at turn 5 and almost dropped it. With it struggling on dirty tyres, I managed to close right up during the last sector, get alongside at turn 11 and then pass into the Andretti Hairpin.

From there I just plodded along and got a bit of breathing room a little later when the Ford made a mistake and dropped back. Things started getting spicy later on as the Genesis in P3 got a penalty and fell back into the clutches of the Genesis in P4. They started fighting a little which helped me also close back up to them, although I still had to push hard. On lap 13 the Subaru attempted an overtake at the Corkscrew only to run deep onto the gravel, so up to P4. The Subaru managed to close a lot of the gap on me on the final lap (as I was being REALLY cautious on the Hards with such a strong result on the line) but never caught me.

P4, 228 points. Very happy with that.

Uh... guys... when are we supposed to be able to see the points we scored? Last time out it was imidiately after the race but my 61 points don't show... Do I have to exit the game or something?
Points don't get registered until after the last timeslot has completed in GT7, to the best of my knowledge.

I think you only see them at the finish screen. Then you need to wait until tomorrow.
