Grand Prix de Monaco 2017Formula 1

Very happy result for Ferrari. Bottas did well considering the tight fit of his long-wheelbase Mercedes in a Red Bull sandwich. Interesting about that patch of track coming up near turn 1. Is that the extra weight, grip, downforce and speed of these 2017 cars making itself felt?

I know he's not trying to be condescending and more like that almost motherly/fatherly type but I think Kimi is aware that you're aware Nico "of how it is"

How people think the Monaco GP is the greatest race in the world is beyond me. It looks terrific but it's a bore-fest.

No, Valencia was boring — a complete and utter snooze-fest that 🤬 track was every single year. Monaco is...I don't know how one could call it boring? Why would you (not you, specifically) expect numerous overtakes on a track so claustrophobic without someone killing themselves in the process?

Granted, I think every race is better with the addition of rain but Monaco is just one of those events where its just exciting to watch just because.

Kimi got done by Ferrari and Verstappen by RBR, in the end for both teams it did not matter, but those two will probably not be happy.

First two thirds of the race was boring but last bit was good.

Best bit for me was Alonso telling Button to 'take car of my car'.

Ummm.....yeah!

:lol::lol:

I guess you never watched the 2012 European GP then? The track itself wasn't exactly memorable, but that does not necessarily guarantee poor racing. Monaco is quite a challenge for the drivers, particularly in qualifying, which is always good to watch here. But come race day, everyone's managing pace and hardly even attempting to overtake. It doesn't get an excuse just because it's Monaco with all its glamour and history, and I think you'd be in the minority of people who enjoyed today's race. I suspect most who didn't enjoy it are supporters of Kimi, though

To be fair on Sky, it would not surprise me one bit if Ferrari really DID tell Raikkonen to ease off and let Vettel jump him. This IS the same team that told Barichello to let Schumacher through in Austria 2002, even though no-one had a chance of catching him in the championship that year.

There's no controversy. Both drivers were given the opportunity to win it, Kimi was struggling before pitting and was being caught by Bottas and the red bulls, while Seb delivered a superb run before pitting. In addition, that the leading car was served first. I cannot stand the biased croft wanting to make something out of it!

Did you see Sebs pace after kimi has pitted? What's that has to do with the team!!

The team played fair for both.

Ferrari did choose pit Kimi into backmarkers.
So Sebby V just had to drive faster on a clear track than Kimi in traffic?

Good job they are not in the same team otherwise people may jump to conclusions... oh.

I don't remember what year it was — perhaps it was that one — but the race literally put me sleep. I don't remember a single moment from any of the events held at that circuit.

There's hardly anywhere to overtake, and any lead up to doing so is immediately neutralized for fear of cooking the brakes going into the corner. Perhaps I am in a minority but I like Monaco especially because it's different than everything else on the calendar and wouldn't be on the calendar period if it weren't already established.

I couldn't care less about the glitz nor the glamour and the same holds true for every venue. I yell at my TV every single time something other than what's happening on the track is being shown. :P

It's not. That wasn't Ferrari in 2002, that was Todt/Brawn.

Kimi just wasn't fast enough, Seb put in the extra effort at the exact right moment. Win deserved.
