vandaliser, just because liveries aren't at the top of your list, doesn't mean PD shouldn't add them. Just look at forza. From what I've seen and played, the livery editor is possibly the best thing in the game. Add that to the pretty darn good car list, and you have a winner.

If livery is the best thing about forza then frankly it's just confirmed everything i knew about the series as a whole

Yeah yeah NOT.

...I really can't understand people like you. It's ok if you don't like it, it's fine, it's ok if you think that it's useless, BUT.

STOP with this stupid thing about NEED 4 SP33D KIDZ STUPID CARS.
GOD. EVERY car in motorsport have some kind of liveries, stickers, numbers, shape, colors, lines etc.

Like i said earlier. Livery should be at the bottom of PD's priorties. Adds nothing to gameplay. PD already wasted time creating a billion types of racing helmets and gears.

There are better things to spend that money on

I would like a livery editor to personalize my car and maybe others. Just to stand out on the track and it's easyer to see who is in front or after you.

And so what if people make a pink Jaguar with green neon stripes. If you don't like it, don't ride it. At our club is someone driving a pink Subaru with bright red rims this season. I find it ugly, but I'm glad it's not my car :). Let them be.

I also think that when you're driving in "closed" lobbies, you will not come across vulgairity or anything else distastefull. I assume you know the people you're driving with and you make agreements about those things, just like the racingrules within your group of racers.

So come on with this editor PD ;).

(probably not in this update, but I am hoping :) )

I would be happy with a livery editor with just redimensionable and movable squares. Simple and effective. Other than that, PD is doing their job, let's wait to see how things go...

On this i've been wondering...the "race car pack"...or the new RM cars, or whatever...I though that it would be later DLC, paid...but the cars are on the Spec II pics...*brainstorm*

Do you work for PD? Pretty good considering you're in the US and they all work and reside in Japan.... Therefore, how can you promise such a thing?

Because it's beyond obvious. It takes a tremendous amount of work to incorporate a livery editor. They're probably going to wait until the next GT installment.

Do you have proof of this "claim"? You appear to be able to say that with the utmost confidence which would imply you have a source?

I know, you're right on this.
I'm not one who is dying for have a livery editor or something, but that kind of argument to use against it doesn't makes any sense, just that. The colors of your team and the stickers of the sponsors are thing that we always have on race cars, we don't have this

Peace.

Anyway, i'm still waiting to know the contents of the dlc, i'm really curious expecially about tracks, a pack of old gt4 tracks it's an instant buy. With old tracks i mean motegi, valencia (from tt) and infineon too, real tracks : P
If pd is going to give us a pack of new real tracks...same, instant and happy buy LOL

I seriously hope that there will be roadcar DLC as well. A premium Toyota Supra RZ etc. should be a priority at this point.

Do you have proof to disagree with me?

Well apart from the lack of evidence supporting your side and the lack of definitive answers, no, I do not have evidence to support my argument, but then again, Im not the one claiming to know that a livery editor wont be implemented in GT5...

Be reasonable, a livery editor will more probably not be implemented. You know that, we all know that. It's just too hard to do it (yet we can dream, but...)

I believe at one stage we were also saying we wouldnt get DLC.... Look where we are now...

Look. Other games that have a livery editor have always had it to begin with. It's never implemented in a patch of some sort, ever. What makes you think that PD will go out of it's way for a livery editor? If they really wanted it to be apart of their game, it would've been on the disc since day one. Can you honestly tell me that you believe that a livery editor will be implemented in a patch?

Maybe because the games that have livery editor, had livery editor in an age when Downloading patches wasnt an option so everything had to be in the game from day 1. Honestly, I think they would do it. They've already gone out of their way to give us DLC, which if paid, wasnt supposed to be in teh game from day one.

DLC is just unfinished content that was made before released date. And patches have always been around since Xbox live and PSN have been up.

It's different, implementing a new car is different from a full livery editor...

EDIT: And the dude carries on...

Well yes, Im just saying, we once dreamt about DLC thinking that would never happen, we also never thought the game would progress this much in a year... Miracles happen...

Yes, but did the NFS series get a livery editor during the days of Xbox Live and PSN? What Im saying is that these games have had time to perfect it and therefore can be implemented in the games from day 1. GT series however havent had a livery editor previously... 🤬 it! Im over arguing this. Simple fact of the matter is we dont have a livery editor as of yet, no one can produce proof of it NOT being implemented in GT5, no one can produce proof of it being implemented in GT5. Simple as that.

Too bad console games arent like older PC games where you could modify skins with photo editing software. well not just older games, I know you can do this in rFactor, made a few myself actually(and in older games).

Every car gets a body kit. Some get race mods. Every car can be painted with a livery

The liveries can be customized from a set of predetermined decals and graphics. You would not be able to re-size or move each graphic, just choose which one goes where (ie number go on the top of the rear fender, or strips go on the top or the side) and what color. There would also be full liveries that would essentially do all the work for you.

This is a good idea, but it would take too many man-hours to position the decals on 200+ Premium cars. I dare say it would take less time to give us 1000 decals and let us put them where we want them.

I agree as far as "regular" cars, but in amateur and professional racing you don't get to "make the car YOURS." Certain decals are required to be ran on each car along side with the individual's sponsors. I'm not sure what you mean by "boxy numbers" but there is a standard for the number decal, ensuring the best visibility and readability.

Don't you think it would be cool to create your own Le Mans livery? I know that drivers in real life don't create their cars livery, but this is GT5, the world of racing is practically yours. And what I mean by boxy numbers is not about the numbers, but the fact that they are one of the few things that get added to the livery when you RM a car. I know that numbers have to be readable, and I was only trying to point out that PD makes pretty bad liveries if the main feature is just a number.

EVERY car in motorsport have some kind of liveries, stickers, numbers, shape, colors, lines etc.

AMEN.

Exactly. So what if people have an ugly livery on their car, the cars not yours, you should be glad you don't have bad taste like them. And if a livery editor gets included, hopefully we'll get a feature to disable seeing it.

And I'm hoping too, bro.

11 new premium nascar models, a new GTR premium model, standards will all have interiors and I suspect some of the standard to have been updated (like the trucks) because they look horrible. So like the guy said above me around 2.5gb. Models really don't take up that much space, but textures will be little more space consuming. I just always suspect that PD will at least add other things to the game besides just those new content. I mean how can you call the update 2.0 if the content added doesn't equal nearly as much as 1.0??? Never understood that at all...
11 new nascar

I share all the excitement as everyone else. (excluding those total downers. Sorry guys.)
This looks pretty damn awesome I must say. Quite surprising to see a game get such a large update so late after its release. Polyphony Digital has my respect for supporting the game like this. They'll gain even more respect when the update actually comes out.

Now don't take this the wrong way please; in as much of a light-hearted manner as I possibly can portray through text on the internet, I shall sum it all up with this:

Oh great, they're adding yet another GTR.

I'd like to see the enhanced weather control system to be applied to all tracks, but I don't think it'll happen. Nevertheless I'm excited about the whole spec II thing. Amen.
