I have been playing GT5 for the past hour and for some reason the standard cars look better. Has anybody notice this?

I have thought the same thing since the last few updates.

I'm telling you Max, I was driving on the ring with my Mustang Cobra R and I'm looking at the standard cars confused because they look so better. My brother was getting mixed up with the standards and premiums. It was funny because I know my GT and he's telling me which cars are premiums which really are standards while I race. I accepted your FR. 👍

The intro will make the files bigger but the rest is just code updates & some new skins + one new cars, some of the features could be just a matter of unlocking code thats on the disc or adding new code. I think 1.5 gigs would be a lot from reading the list.

DLC will be bigger I would think if its new content.

Please correct me but in GT5-P spec 2.0 you got 35 added cars thats were the size came from, here we are only gaining one new car,the Nascar update is only 2011 skins from how a read it.
So know new car models other than the above GTR so no massive amounts of textures & 3D models.

If they add a livery editor you all will be screaming "we want livery editor for standard cars too! But that's impossible." It will be like never enough I think. Or maybe not :)

Do you guys will be happy if they include it only for premium cars? Without whining (again) about standards? Without another disappointment?

Yes, they should leave standards alone. I don't mean to remove them, hell no! Some of them are too awesome, but workforce should go to making new premiums and tracks.

I'd love to see some day PD saying here: "Hi guys! We have small project 'Save standards'. As we all know textures on them are rubbish. Maybe some graphic designers from GTP could help us to improve them, as we are preparing new cars for you?". Enough of daydreaming, back to work ;)

So I read a speech which, after some blood and flooded me. ;)

I want to start that I do not know the developer of this generation who would just take care of your product (which was the hastily released, but this explanation later). Changes that are introduced are the result of our requests and to what the PD is in their heads, and did not manage to make the start of the game.

After all, you can easily guess that GT5 was released under pressure, I think Sony is a pressure, and worse, in my opinion Sony also dipped his fingers in that game went to 3D and 1080P, in order to promote TV. This is a bug in my opinion, because this generation is not suitable for such a resolution, and the best results taking into account the trade-offs in getting the 720P and I think it should be the target resolution of GT5. The second thing that strikes the eye, yet it is that the GT3/4 were more flattering than GT5, and is rather not the fault of the PD, only the fault of time, after such a big game like GT5 on this generation should be done with 2/3 times longer than that same game on the previous is obvious. But unfortunately not everyone wants to understand it.

In terms of FM4, it amuses me that this game portals called the best racing game of this generation. But the portals are mostly American, so I was not too surprising, they are less demanding of games, and even have to promote their platform. It's definitely not what you call FM4 best racing game of this generation:

- Remind me how many opponents on the track?
- Lack of changing weather conditions
- No variable time of day
- How many game modes (you have school driving? Rallies? Karting? Nascar?)

FM4 is a great game, but does not bring anything new to racing games on this generation (it is ok Autovista + Kinect, but that only 25 cars), what is worse, backs up against its first edition for the Xbox (at least there was the night tour). The best part is that some sites writing about these shortcomings indicate that the omission of these features is a very good and conscious choice by the developer ("right choice" - Arstechnica). :ouch: :nervous:

What we require from the PD is a bit better PR the players or the best for sites devoted to this series. I would like to hear from KAZ'a that GT5 will be developed as GT5P, that over time we get another SPEC 3.0 and can more DLC, and the GT6 will be the next generation if they want to do yet GT6 on the PS3 and GT5 will be on stage SPEC 2.0. So far we do not know the answers and we live in uncertainty.

I am very happy with the changes that will happen in GT5 with SPEC 2.0, although we evaluate them soon, I hope they come out for the better that we get a better game. That is what I wish you you would not bothered so much the things you do not have influence, and people who may also be some things were not too much influence. And a more rational look at racing games, and to distinguish between target and rather strange review of what goes on this generation of consoles.

See you in the world of Gran Turismo. :)

I'm thinking anywhere from 1GB to a maximum of around 3.5GB. Won't matter to me since I'm on a little over half a gigabit of pure speed.

You know, I was also thinking the same thing as well. When I drove my Prelude Si for the Japanese Seasonal, it seemed to be a lot nicer looking than usual. Then I did a replay and saw the pixelated molding around the windows and was thinking maybe I was wrong lol.

But I do think the standards have gotten an extra sheen to them in the previous updates, that much seems for sure.

Gonna have to delete a lot to make way for this...oh well, should be worth it. :D

Does anybody know when PD normally release there updates? (uk time)

I know this is due on the 11th but I want to try and get it as early as I can ......

It's not too hard to add, but the request isn't very high.

My favorite were the used wheels.

This was also one of my favorites in GT4, and the last straw, IMO concerning the inclusion of standard cars.

Substandard to begin with, by next-gen cabability, with the wheel feature it would have at least added a element of personalization, wherein you could say:
Yea its kind of a toad, but its my toad.

Since the standards, are hopefully on the way out, I doubt this feature will appear.
But who knows with PD.

why didnt they add rims to standards? aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh lol
Yup that still kills me too. The interior added to standards is greatly appreaciated and a step in the right direction but changing wheels on standards probably wont ever happen. Especially since the interior fix is a very generic work around. Its taking an existing view and adding an interior. Kinda like the person did with the electrical tape in the youtube video about a year ago. "Adding cockpit view to standard cars in GT5" Its similar to that and something is better than nothing.

It's more than just taking the roof cam view and adding an interior. The whole point of the cockpit view is for the replicated "blOcked" (blocked, just so people know I don't mean black) view you get from being behind the hood, the window, dashboard (even if it's missing lol), and last, the steering wheel. It's all that space that you can't really see clearly enough that makes using the cockpit view more challenging and immersive to an extent. That feeling of being forced to make different judgements than if you used bumper cam.

I know you didn't mean it literally, but for those who don't understand why people use it, there's one answer.

I don't understand why they won't release information about the upcoming DLC other than there will be 3 of them. I want to know what cars are coming, wether they'll just be RMs of existing Premiums or new Premium Racing cars.

Which tracks are going to be downloadable, completely new tracks to the series, GT4 tracks or just new course creator themes?

In Germany we have a saying: "Anticipatory joy is the greatest joy. ", but still, I want to know what those DLCs consist of! :scared:
Has PD released what content will be in the 2.0 update yet?

Sorry, i don't fancy reading through 112 pages to find out.

Thanks!

People like you are driving me insane! :ouch:

(just kidding, btw :sly: )

Yup the windows are still messy, but the car body looks better. What's funny Is i did the same thing you did. I notice how nice the Prelude so I did a replay and notice the body looked better.

Spec II has told us a lot about Kaz himself. I remember a while back during an interview he said that he didn't compare Gran Turismo to any other racing game in the genre and that he does not compete with anyone. If that is so then why is Spec II being released so close to the release of Forza 4? We now know that he is listing to our requests, which is great. Is this evidence that he feels somehow threatened by Turn 10?

Whatever the story may be I after some thought I have came to a decision that I will always be a GT fan (within reason). For most people Forza 4 will bring more enjoyment as it looks like it will please the casual gamer more, but GT has so much going for it. The choice of cars, the graphics, the physics... All stuff I love about GT5. That and I love the community over here (mostly).

Arguments over which game is superior is futile and stupid. I find it really shocking why such educated people in this community cannot comprehend that. There is nothing wrong with discussing and comparing the two games, along with stating your preference (as long as you explain why) but it's really frustrating to see such discussion get heated up so much. It took me a while to understand on GT Planet how to less things pass, If you see someone complaining or bickering then don't highlight this, let it pass. Of course you can reply to a post sharing your opinions, but there is no point starting an argument over it. This is after all the Internet we are talking about here. In an argument, no matter what, everyone involved turns out wrong in the end.

Oh, and by the way, I'm not here telling people what to do - I'm giving people advice. Take it or leave it, agree or disagree, I'm just trying to help. 👍

And I'll see you all in Spec II soon (hopefully)! Can't wait! :)

Honestly, the only thing I really dont like about spec 2 is the cockpit. I'd rather have nothing than a cardboard cut out. I really see no point. Then again, I'm not much of a cockpit driver. I just think the whole black cockpit view takes out the immersion.

So again, anyone think that the list was all there was? Or do you think there is more big stuff he isn't mentioning?

I think that both more tracks and cars have been confirmed, but I'm not sure wether that will be in Spec II or the DLC shortly after.
