I'm not sure why numerous members seem to think they can ignore moderator instructions, so last warning - this isn't an FM vs GT thread. Take the discussion to the proper thread(s).

I kinda hope this new patch would give as opportunity to race against our Bspec drivers
and perhaps take photos from several cars at time.
And maybe giving a option to choose full damages on for all races.
cockpit thing, even it's similar to PSP version, will do greatly, since when driving from interior view, it's whole new dimension, and like someone else claimed, it's a start, but when actually racing, I can myself hardly focus on polished diameters anyways.
So this patch will come out next week ? I am also getting FM4 during the same time, but I am pretty much sure I will keep playing both equally
FM4 demo felt just like FM3 with polished graphics, tho cars were like made from chrome.

Yes, I do own both systems, which one is my facourite, neither, both has excellent games

If the a.i don't give up on positions so easily, that would be an improvement. If they are a fair bit faster, it would be an improvement.

But if both of these improvements are not present together, I'll be disappointed.

I'd like to be able to specify which tyres they use, too. And in "one make cup" race in practice mode, I'm hoping the a.i use the exact car you have chosen, not a stock unmodified version of it.

Oh yes, would be cool if could give AI using tuned cars, or if player chooses car with 500 PP, AI would use it too while with same tires, excellent idea.

Just consider the number of times you've posted "sales have no correlation at all with the quality of a game." No one believes that, not developers or publishers or gaming journalists, just a handful of naysayers.

The Toyota Corolla is one of, if not the highest selling car of all time......

Remember that when a patch is like 600 mb, it wont make game actually 600mb bigger on your hard drive, because in most cases patch does O V E R W R I T E coding, not expanding it by amount of the patch size. So around 800 mb is my guess here, which will be downloaded in less than 15 minutes if lucky.

The new opening movie alone is going to take quite some space.
I still maintain that the patch will be > 2 GB.
Many demos are much larger than this anyway.

Really looking forward to this update, all features that have been added are cool and am also looking forward to finding out about the DLC.

Am also sure that 2.0 will contain more fixes rather than features that have been announced so hoping for a better experience all round.

Probably my most wanted features were a better way to filter cars online and narrow selection as well as an improved shuffle mode similar to that of the PSP which was fantastic.

Depends much on the thing will the new opening vid be rendered or made from actual gameplay footage. True that some demos are now bigger than full games were in past years, kinda funny.

LogiForce
Only 50Mbit/s ? I have 120 Mbit/s ^_^
Although this is an old pic, the speed hasn't changed since then.

About the size... Spec 2.0 update is around 2GByte big, the DLC will be around 1.5GByte big.

That ent fair I only get 2 MBPS

Er... thank you for that news flash about a fairly nice, half-sporty, half-utile car line. Which in case you aren't aware, that's what the Trueno is, in America at least.

You claimed only "naysayers" thought sales didn't equal quality. I can think of examples from any industry that all but disprove that, gaming included. The (half-sporty :odd:) Corolla is a prime example - not the most "quality" car around, yet some how outsold every other car.

Large sales figures may indicate some modicum of quality (Toyota Corolla), but as sales figures drop, the level of quality in some cases rises - Ferrari, Porsche etc.

Just look at Wii Sports, the highest selling game ever. Best game ever? Of course not. Not only is the game not of the highest quality, it came with the Wii, making it's sales figures rather unreliable.

Just thought I'd share something, maybe get your input so as to keep on topic *wink wink;

Remember that post on the news page from 2009, titled "Inside Polyphony Digital: A Photo Tour", there were random pic's of the PD facility.

---

Remember this image:

inside-polyphony-digital.jpg

...this was back in 2009, before the release of GT5, if only we knew then that the vehicle being modeled there was going to be in GT5 (that's the Ferrari P4 Race Car btw).

---

With this in mind; There was another picture that I would like to point out:

25t7rjq.jpg

Looking at the picture;

I could see 3 colored stickers at the bottom (Red, Blue, Black) that read "Find Official GT Assets Here" & 9 other stickers.

7 of which are track logo's (From Left to Right: Laguna Seca, Valencia Circuit, Nurburgring, Spa-Francorchamps, Monza, Indy, & Laguna Seca [again]).

---

So let's see here;

Laguna Seca, Nurburgring, Monza & Indy are in GT5.

However, Monza & Indy are new to the series & in 2009 we wouldn't have known about Monza being in GT5, where as Indy was shown in an E3 Trailer in 2009.

Then there are the "Valencia Circuit" & "Spa-Francorchamps" logo's.

I remember Valencia Circuit being in Tourist Trophy & I also remember Valencia Circuit being part of those hidden GT5 track logo's:

Spa-Francorchamps was never in the series, but I remember that news post about it being studied by PD:

https://www.gtplanet.net/video-reveals-polyphony-digital-visitedstudied-spa-francorchamps/

gt5-screenshot-tracks-1024x640.jpg

^^Also, notice the "Pikes Peak" & "Valencia" at the bottom of the pic.

Which reminds me, I also remember a news post about "Pikes Peak" being in GT5:

https://www.gtplanet.net/red-bull-says-pikes-peak-is-in-gran-turismo-5/

---

In summary:

We could see, Valencia Circuit, Spa-Francorchamps, & Pikes Peak, as part of the "Track Pack" DLC that was mentioned.

I hope so!

Any Thought's? Comments?

The only thing I hadn't seen before was the picture of the P4. Other than that I'm glad to see it all in one post.👍

My thought is I like what I see. My comment is I want more tracks than 3 if one of those tracks is a TT port, we should get at least all of GT4's tracks.

I look at it this way. Most people won't be happy witht he update. I GUARANTEE 45 minutes after spec 2.0 comes out there will be a thread "What do you want from spec 3.0" because some retard didn't get the car or track he wanted.

I take whatever i can get. Beggers can't be choosers. If all you do all day is worry about whats gonna be in the update, maybe you should go find the nearest bridge and take a leap.

For all we know, all 25 track logo's may come as DLC...

Correct me if I'm wrong but Valencia (Cicuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo) is also in GT-PSP.

Personally I want Citta d'Aria- I would even take that over Spa (unless PD magically decides to model the old, old Spa). Citta d'Aria with the current GT5 physics and FFB would make me very happy.

Really good work! I hope you are right 👍

In my opinion, Spa should be in every driving game.

I dont know how true that was what Dan Greenwald said. But he said something about that it is not possible to implement some tracks because there are license problems and blah blah... That was his answer after somebody asked after Spa... He also commented that some tracks in other racing games *was looking to PD* are illegal in the game... He really is like a 5 year old child... If I cant have it, you also cant have it...

Anyway, I think they were too lazy to travel to Europe... That also explains why the half of the Forza tracks are US tracks and the Nordschleife in Forza is a disaster...

I miss Citta d'Aria a lot. Together with Costa di Amalfi =(

Has someone else noticed the fact that on the picture showing the new GT-R of Schulze Motorsports there are a couple of cars that don't exist in GT5 as of yet?

They look quite like more Race Modifications to me!!!

gran-turismo-5-spec-2-screenshots3.jpg

Look behind the black GT-R. There's an RX-7 with the classic GRAN TURISMO windshield decal, and with "Mazdaspeed", "Polyphony Digital" and "GT" decals all over it, as well as a wide body-kit, a rollcage, and a quite racey hood. Same story with the Subaru Impreza STI '11 behind it: Manufacturer decals as well as GT ones with a wide body kit and a big wing. Between the RX7 and the Impreza there's what looks like a Skyline GT-R R34, with the same sporty bodykit look and with a Gran Turismo windshield sticker.

I don't know you, but I haven't seen this cars in the game before and they look premium to me given that I can see their interior and driver clearly. They not only look great, but they have the classic traits of a race mod!!! Here's hoping for it to be true and more to come in the near future! :D

Yes it has been brought up. It looks like new RM versions of cars in the game. Or new cars with RM modification already done.
