But at the same time, it seems that Gran Turismo is its own pocket universe. Who would have thought that the gaming public would ignore a massive amount of bad press about GT5 - in fact, two years of it! It's still selling surprisingly well new, in a market which is likely swimming with used copies. Another million since December 1st? Inconceivable!
In recent years, CAD data of actual cars are often provided to Gran Turismo thanks to our strong partnerships with automotive manufacturers and as a consequence, the time to understand the design of the car has been drastically reduced. The same cannot be said for the development time: a model will still take 6 months to create, and that is because the time and costs saved in the research phase are re-distributed into modelling to further improve the quality of the final product. If you think in terms of short-time development costs, this style taken by Gran Turismo may sound inefficient. But the passion and professionalism of each members of the modelling team further strengthen the trust with auto manufacturers, and that is what ultimately leads to increased collaborations with them. Gran Turismo has evolved into a project involving the auto industry, going beyond the boundaries of a simple video game. Take for example the Corvette C7: in the previous Gran Turismo 5 title, a "Test Prototype" was distributed on November 2011, and the "Final Prototype" was released at the same time of the official unveil of the real car at a North American Auto Show in January 2013. Has there ever been a Corvette that has been test driven this much around the world before its release? And of course, its final production form will be included in Gran Turismo 6.
Bit late but I just wanted to say that I cannot wait to get my hands on this. With the addition of timeless classics such as the BMW 507 and Shelby Daytona to the modern Karma and Huayra , PD are really taking notice in the variety department. Having also seen a Z8 last weekend (quite rare around here) and then PD announcing its inclusion was a very nice surprise. Vision GT is an exciting collaboration I'm really looking forward to as well.
With TGS up next, I expect the entire car list, surprise features (livery editor? event maker? engine swaps?), as well as the final status on the sounds/AI. Gimme a premium Veyron, the entire RUF roster, an F50, and a 599 GTO and I will be eternally grateful. End this gen with a bang, Polyphony.
Also an interesting bit from the website that hasn't been mentioned here as of late:
Yeah I just saw that thread now.
Just wanted it to be more visible. You can't deny that PD has one of the best car models in the industry though.

Pfff, not a chance, please dont get me wrong i love GT but its models are not even close to whats round the corner, Im a Pcars member and Project Cars model each part of the car, chasis, wishbones, suspension struts/springs, engine gear box etc etc etc then build the car within the game engine as if you were building that car from scratch, all moving parts move, even the stuff you would hardly see, remeber GT6 is a brand new game, it will get judged by a new standard.
ALL RELEASE DATES are subject to change , read the fine print XDJust went to my local EB Games store to upgrade my preorder to the Anniversary Edition and the sales assistant told me they have a release date on their system of the 6th of December. But it does have a subject to change note next to it.

I really don't understand why those people get hired. Can't they check their damn phones nowadays if for some reason they can't use a computer to check their store's site? Simple fact checking.I went to EB Games to do the same, and they dont even know of a 15th anv. edition.

Same thing goes for people working customer service for most places. It's D-sgusting.
So, in order to access the cars, you need internet access, because it's a downloaded update? Not a problem for me, might be a problem for Siberia, or such, for example. Not everyone lives near internet sources.
Let's scrap the entire internet then, as everyone doesn't have access to it. Someone send an email to the president of the world and tell him/her/it to pull the plug.
That´s how DLC works , you need internet connection to download the downloadable content
