I hate to say it but realism is out the window on comfort tires. I have raced open wheel cars before, and to b honest they are far mor stable and grippy than what we are using. You want realism, Step to at least Sport hards and then will be getting closer.

Sorted it Knelly 👍

They're absolutely fine Fox, it just requires some delicate car control. As I've said before, IndyCar's aren't as grippy and good in the corners as F1 cars are, add that to the fact that the racing compound tyres in GT5 are unrealistic anyway. We did test with sports tyres and the difference in drive-ability was minimal.

1:16.1 is my best but waiting to see how much quicker Joe is because I'm fairly happy with my time.

1:15.9xx for me as well but I think I'm losing time on the double hairpin but lets see what happens with the weight distribution and a tweak in transmission

Is it trickier? I haven't been out on it yet.

They become really slide happy on the brakes, and accelerating out of corners. Corner entry is better, but a lot harder to exit with.

I've not done any laps yet, but I always struggle exiting the double hairpin no matter what car I'm in. e.g in the 90's DTM I would gain on the car in front all through the lap, and then lose all the time at those hairpins.

I'll be on later Joe, if you want to put some Penske time in.

I know I had a big part in it but I just love the schedule here. Start at Indy then a your of Asia. Back to Indy and Daytona before hearing to Europe before finishing back in the States.

Great structure 👍

Best time currently is 1:16.5xx with a ton of oversteer everywhere. I'm sliding round every corner and drifting under braking into a good amount too.

When I tested the other night with the new weight balance I had to add a lot of understeer to the car. I finally found the high 1:15's consistently.

Well there's less weight now, not sure about this weight distribution though. I'd rather have close racing and less spinning from everyone than bang on realistic regs. We'll see.

I got mid 1:16's after 3-4 laps in a rush. Sure I could hit 15's with more practice, may open a room tomorrow night.

I agree with Cowboys, the old regs were better with your choice of weight distribution

I'm inclined to agree. Actually, thinking about it we can only distribute the ballast, which is about 160kg; IRL they would distribute the entire weight of the car (710kg) out 43/57 so we're not actually using the realistic regs for distro anyway.

Will most probably scrap it.

Keeping the new weight would be fine for me, it's just the weight distribution. Makes the car far too slidey and would most likely be a long race
