1100 miles of Indy next week...

Shut up man

Anyway, here's a little artwork for next weekend; only took me a half hour on photoshop so apologies if it's a bit sloppy. I used a base picture, cropped out the Grand-AM stuff and replaced it with IndyCar stuff.

Cheers guys!

What do you fellas say to a non points, Freedom 100 at Indy on Tuesday night in our usual timeslot?

I'm in slot permitting!

Great artwork, Tom. 👍

I'm led to believe some US students are off for Summer too like us.

Just gonna pop my name out there for anyone who has open slot for the Freedom 100 and the Indy 500.

I may not be the most decorated driver out there but Indianapolis is my strongest track. With my sole win and fastest lap being in Tom's IndyCar 0.9 Preseason at Indy Oval, I truly love the track to bits. I also scored my two other podium in the longer races of IROC and Trucks last season. If it wasn't for PD server lag, I would have had a chance to race in the Sprint Cup at Indy last season and if it wasn't for poor luck, I would have finished much higher in this year's Nationwide race. Yet to race 500 miles but I am relishing it. I recently just got my 60 Golds on my DS3 so although I'm not the most gifted road course runner, I really try hard and practice hard and run much more strongly on the ovals.

Of course with the Nationwide Finale being next week too, I'm sure I can organise a slot for you in that. :sly:

I think KV Racing Tech will have an open spot until Smuffy returns from Florida.

The Firestone Freedom 100 @ Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Tuesday 5th June 2012

40 + 1 laps (100 miles)

This is it. The most important racing week of the year on GTPlanet. With the Nationwide Finale, the Brickyard 200; the final Sprint Cup race pre-chase, the Brickyard 400 and the famed Indianapolis 500 Mile Race making up the 'Super Weekend at The Brickyard'. But before that, on Tuesday night, the stars of the IndyCar series take to the track for the opening race of the week; the non points paying Firestone Freedom 100. This will be the first time they have been on track here since the start of the season so teams will be looking to gather race data for the 500 on Friday evening.

Also, on the Wednesday, Thursday and for an hour prior to the race on Friday, there will be hosted sessions by an IndyCar official (Myself, Joe, Matty or Knelly) in order for people to make their qualifying runs for the 500. These will consist of 4 lap races from a rolling start and your times should be posted by the steward who watched your run in the thread. Not you are allowed a maximum of three attempts across the 3 day period, your fastest time will count. Points scheme for qualifying is as follows:

1st place = 15 points
2nd place = 14 points
3rd place = 13 points
4th place = 12 points
5th place = 11 points
6th place = 10 points
7th place = 4 points
8th place = 4 points
9th place = 4 points
10th place = 4 points
11th place = 4 points
12th place = 4 points
13th place = 3 points
14th place = 3 points
15th place = 3 points
16th place = 3 points

No attempt to qualify will result in 0 points and starting at the back of the grid provided there are spaces remaining.

You don't need to worry about open slots in teams, you can just be a freelance driver and race either for a team that is missing a driver, or just race independently.

EDIT: When testing setups for the Daytona twin races I found out I used my Indy setup last season instead of my Daytona one. I should be faster this time around. I've also not tested my Indy setup since we changed the weight, but that should be fairly easy to do in time for the 500.

I don't find this the least bit shocking since half of the city has poor roads and they plan on shutting power down to half of the city to save money. Very poor city with no money to fix things. Just speaking my opinion here.
