I don't want to get involved in this conversation. But that was a great event, i remember it as if it where yesterday. :) And nice to see those familiar names scrolling down the thread. Walk down memory lane
I don't really want to get involved in this conversation, either. :dopey:

Agree, those were the days, as it were. The great thing about the Prologue events was that organizing was so difficult, we attracted a very large portion of the participating community. With GT5, there are so many user organized online events. That was just not the case with Prologue. Sure, there were "pickup" races, specific times to race in the PD established online lobbies. But again, those tended to attract the entire participant base.

You wouldn't want to anyway as per the racing line really but it's fine
Hi Mate
Thanks for the reply, I will assume that it is ok but I do not follow the racing line and all four tyres are over the pit exit line before I reach the corner
Once again thanks
All the best

Be careful there markyboy, we are not supposed to give tips. :)
...even though it was nice from you to help.👍
I deleted his post, much too detailed with tips on improving.

Love to see that during weekly TT events, but not here.

Hello!
I really don't want to get on anybody's nerves but can you please tell me if this is legit? I want to know this as a future reference.
This is on Brands Hatch, corner 3 exit (Graham Hill Bend into Cooper Straight)
sry about the brightness, this ps3 seems to have a different brightness in games....

I can't give you a pass based on one photo, especially from that angle.

I will say that it looks like just a bit of the tire contact patch is on rumble with both of the left side of car wheels. If that's the case, throughout the corner exit, then the run is clean. If it takes a lot of work and a very specific pause point to figure that out, we'd really prefer that you run a new lap. It should be easy to tell the run is clean, at full race speed. Try looking from reverse angle (R1 button, IIRC) at full speed as well.

Oh, and don't worry, you're not "getting on our nerves". Have been irritated by some of the boundary rule clarifications from long time members, but you're new to the WRS and want to be sure you understand the rules.

It's the reason I put these couple of pics in the Qualifier thread as well.

Corrrr, that's using all the track :)

That photo is clean by a whisker, but id never submit something that close, especially in a qualifier 👍

@Turok134 I would have discounted that as dirty the moment I went through that corner in real time, I would never bother to check the replay to make sure because I know by looking at it that it's not even worth wasting time over, I wouldn't think it was clean from that picture, let alone before the replay that made that picture. I would just run again, because I know when I've gone too wide without checking the replay, even if it's not actually dirty and I can still submit with that time, I don't risk it.

I've found that to be that far over on your image is actually no faster anyway, as well as the fact that it makes the car somewhat skittish when coming off there so I try to avoid it if I can, two wheels may ride up there, but I make sure my left most wheels don't even go on the kerb, the car becomes unsettled a lot then. The kerbs really unsettle this car as it is, there's no need to encourage it.

Hi All
Sorry if this has been mentioned before. On Brands Hatch can you cross the pit exit line going in to the first downhill corner as the line is in the middle of the track. Sorry if it's been covered before but have had a look and can't seem to find any mention of it and just need to know before I have a good go at the qualifier.
Thanks in advance.
All the best.
Sorry that we've not gotten back to you until now.

We typically only enforce pit line rules in our online events, not for time trials. As I believe others have pointed out, it's probably not the fastest way around the track to be crossing that line, but it IS allowed within the event rules. Just keep 2 tires on tarmac or red and white rumble.

Thank you for your very prompt answers! :D

With 18 days until the dead line I will have a lot of possible laps to improve and I will never send a dodgy one like this.

Question for the Modo:

In reference to this thread: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/reply-gtp-nick-real-name-psn-id-read-op.293617/

and because of the new freedom of choosing your own name for the GTP Registry, would you accept the replay if the GT6 replay shows a different name than my PSN ID ?

My PSN ID is "GTP_MooCow"
But GT6 allows us to display our "nickname" different from the PSN ID. In my case i have chosen "M.C" for my in-game name.

When i go to submit my replays for the GTP Registry, will you accept them ?

Or do i have to change my GT6 nickname to "GTP_MooCow"

SOrry if this has been answered before, i didn't see the question/answer when looking.

It's based only on the PSN ID, which we will extract from the replay files you submit.

The Nick Name does not matter.

Cool ! So you got ways to check to whom or which PSN ID the replay belong to!
Great so i dont have to worry changing my in-game display name ;)

Thanks !

I'm assuming that the live timing doesn't work when watching replays for some reason. That's a bit annoying because I have several replays of virtually the same time and I'd like to have known the various splits for them to see how much I've got left.

As it is I think I've only been 1/10th quicker than my best for Willow, which I've managed about 3 times to a few hundredths. I think I'm pretty much done with that one for now; at least until I've gotten well into the BMW and laid down a good time there.

Willow is odd. Either my lap is pretty fast and not far off what the best will be, or I've totally misjudged what is left, in which case I'll be nowhere with it.

It's unfortunately a known glitch.

I think the splits show up in a saved full replay (Not Ghost/Best Lap). I know the splits show up if you watch the full replay immediately following your run, while still in the TT session screen.

Yeh I believe there is a bug with the timings screen.

Edit: Tree'd in more detail ;)

Yes, I've found the same as well. Can't say about the saved full replay either because I haven't tried it.

Hopefully the hotlap replay timing will be fixed soon, as well as the data-logger making a reappearance.

Agreed.

If/When they fix the bug, hopefully the splits will reappear in old, saved replay files during in game replay.

If you watch the full replay after a session, you click the timing button. You can then fast forward through the laps, your best splits will change colors. That feature is nice, as you can then switch back to the replay to rewatch that sector to see what you did, or you can note all your best sector times to see your theoretical best time.

There is a way to see your splits from a best lap replay.
Pause the replay, make sure the time in showing on the middle of your screen and FF to T1. Now you will see your T1 time. FF again and you hop to T2. Subtract T1 from that and you'll get your T2 time. For T3 you just need to subtract the time you saw in the replay at T2 from your laptime.
There you go, you now know all your sector times. :)

Thanks. That's going to help a lot.

Mad skillz!

As you are chasing those final tenths and in need a quick diversion, check out our registry qualifier picture contest. Get your cameras out! Maybe your pic will headline the official registry thread when it's released:

GTP_Registry Qualifier Picture Contest

Welcome to the GT6 Registry Qualifier picture contest! We aren't allowed to share our splits or times from the qualifier, but we can share still photos from our laps.

Use this thread to share your best still photos from your qualifying laps. Vote on your favorite pics from other participants using the like feature. Pictures receiving the most likes will advance to the finals. Members will then vote between the finalists to pick an overall winner which will appear in the OP of the Official GTP_Registry thread. Many of the finalists will appear in follow up posts on the registry thread as well as other supporting threads in the WRS forum.

Hey guys, sorry if that question already appeared, but I´d like to know when the submission starts.
Yes, there is plenty of time to get a good run, but I´m thinking that I exhausted my full potential. I started that conversation with WRSFetchbot, then the answer came that the submission hasn´t started yet.

Soon. Might be the early part of next week.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas

Finally I've been able to get started on GT6, and indeed this qualifier. I just want to get something off my chest: I hate the handling of the BMW M3 GT (at least with its stock tune). It has ten thousand tons of understeer, until you try to accelerate out of a turn when, without warning, it explodes into a skid that is impossible to control. I couldn't imagine trying to run an endurance race in that thing.

Yeah, I'm currently running a session that's not going so well.
