Is a room the same as a lounge? I test in my lounge but when I go a room I'm almost sure I'm faster.
My lounge has it's quality set to "high". Could that change the lap times? Would a "standard" room be quicker? Or does that just help lag?

All good questions.

I've only ever found one room I suspected to run slower times, but it wasn't my own, so I don't know for sure there, my lounge always nets me the same times as anything else though.

The main difference I'd expect from "standard" rooms is people with slower connections will have less issues with lag.
Just what I've observed.
 
Masi, can u open room for 4:00 pst, which is in 2 hrs and 39min? i would like to qualify i registered and am running the takata dome, also its in rec. garage, not personal, so i dont buy the car?

I need steward to open a room, for short course? im not sure im running the saturday conference.
saturday at 19:00 PST, which is 7:00 pm., or 8 lol im not sure

You dont need a car to run the qualifier. Qualifier uses cars from recommended garage, in this case the Supra '97 GT500 and 380rs. The tracks are Laguna and Suzuka. Car choice is after this, so forget that for now. If you need to qualify, I am a steward and I can qualify you at that time.

You are certainly not running the Takata Dome for the qualifier, nor have car choice for the season been decided.

Have you read the first posts of this thread to gather the proper information at all?
 
They say the grip's a bit different sometimes which is why I was a bit concerned. But as long as we're all on the same setting it's fine.

Most of the time I find rooms faster, the only time I was slower in a room than my lounge was a the first FMSC race (2 - 3 seconds slower, others had problems too). I think that was a separate glitch though.

If that was to happen in my qualifying room could I jump out before the first lap and ask to rerun it at a later time in a new room, on the grounds of a glitch?


I will change my lounge to standard if know noes for sure that there could be time discrepancies. And I will try to practice more in public rooms.

Side note: What if a full disconnect happens in a room (pilots, stewards, everyone gone)?

The qualifier has no tuning, but the actual series, yes it has and even though I prefer no tuning, it wouldnt work here as there are different cars so it is necessary to tune them to make them competitive. Sorry to hear that you are withdrawing, it would be nice to have you.

Ya thanks for the kind words bro.I would love to race in the series just looks like lots of work and time that i don't have .Plus i thing season 4 Miata will be at the same time.

I'm on my slower laptop now but it looks OK so far (subtracting the normal lag I get with it).
Tell Green I said "hello".

There are rules about disconnection here.

Stewards are the only ones allowed to host qualifier rooms from this point on.

Room quality will always be set to Standard. As for the regular season, that remains to be decided. Preseason races will be planned and run.

Yes but what if the grip glitch rears it ugly head? Not trying to be a cheat or "game the system" I just want not get in based on my driving, not a glitch.

Switch to Racing Hards Eddie. ;)

Then you can take the high-speed left at T2 in 4th gear and shave some seconds.

I can't tell for 100% cause my net's slow, but It's looking very good, easily watchable without lag on a 1.2 mb/s rate. 👍

Just found out that once the tuning is prohibited, it won't let you to enter the settings.

It won't ever let you enter the settings on "recommended cars" ever.
That's part of the reason the cars for the qualifier are from the recommended garage. ;)

just signed up for this & cant wait to post my time, great competition for GT5 users. Not played in a while but after seeing this its going to be good times getting back in the grove,, ,thxs
 
From what I'm reading I think I understand the quali but maybe not. It sounds like we contact a stewart to observ the quali and the stewart will verify the time?

Is there a place that stewarts post times that they will be hosting for the quali so we can just stumble into the lobby to wait in line for our chance?

I can keep going but this is enough for right now......... Thankzz
 
Only Stewards can host rooms from now on. Room numbers will be posted. There should be a room open everyday.

I need to edit the OP so its more clearer.
