Eurogamer article features tons of stuff. Better go read it.

So Porsche is actually a possibility now. Wow.

One more thing,
EA! I. HATE. YOU.
A very interesting article actually.

The comments about the PS2 architecture particularly. The PS2 was a complex beast to work with, but you could get some interesting effects out of it with little cost - heat haze being one of them.

2037-2038 I believe
Kaz wants you to know that they are looking into the possibilities to add Porsche one of these days, maybe when pigs fly over Tokyo but they can't guarantee anything at the moment.

Kaz should be grateful that he has such a loyal public, you feed em a little bone and make a vague statement now or then and everyone is:

I would be willing to pay £20 for a Porsche DLC pack. I hope that PD can have a business meeting with EA to discuss a deal.

It's also good to hear from Kaz that he wants Porsche in GT, but that was already obvious. I just wish something will come of this. Turn 10 and microsoft managed to pull some strings and I hope PD and Sony can too.

I'm sure he's eager like he's always been, but in the end, it's not up to him. It's like me being eager to marry Keira knightley, doesn't mean absolutely anything.

In all fairness this isn't actually his fault. This is a contract thing.

Don't allow yourself to get this affected by it. ;)

The usual dangling the carrot by KY - really getting cheesed off with empty promises.

If they wanted it in that much, they would have made it happen years ago.. we're being taken for fools to be honest.

Can anyone explain why, if there this EA contract that locks out Porsches from GT, Forza games have this make in its dealership? Is Turn10 under EA by any chance?

So would I, but they will need Porsche in GT7 to win back customers - seeing as a ps4 purchase will be necessary for it.

That would be a start, I hope premium modern RUF's are on the DLC agenda

I hope so too but I'm generally not too optimistic regarding the DLC, especially not for cars that already are in the game. The first pack is five 15th anniversary cars and we also know that the Vision GT cars will be distributed as DLC. In other words, PD hasn't learned what people really want.

Oh man I really hope that is not the case. After all these complaints about choice of cars, you would think they would know by now. If GTPlanet makes up a list of cars, would PD take that seriously?

Considering the amount of wish lists that have requested a premium MkIV Supra, I would say that PD doesn't give a **** about what we want.

*Cue Heavenly choir*

I love Porsche and *almost* all of its cars (Cayenne and Panamera... :yuck:). I would love to race some of the new 911 GT3 race cars alongside the SLS AMG GT3 and others in GT6.

And of course an old 930 would be fun. :)

Maybe that explains why they have those diecast porsche models, they should have some of them already modelled just waiting for the moment they can get the license and then release them into the game

Except RUFs ARE Porsches.

No. Ruf tuned Porsches are Porsches, Ruf built (not tuned) cars are Not Porsche.

Turn 10 is under Microsoft and the only reason Porsches were in that game were because Microsoft were able to make a deal with EA (Likely with the liverage of having own the Ferrari license for both PC and Xbox).

Its not about being locked out, its about how much a company is willing to spend to get it in their game.

They shouldn't allow exclusive licensing for thing like this, where's the competition?

Just another interview answer, it means nothing.

If Kaz truly wanted Porsche he would lobby Sony to broker a deal with EA, just like Turn 10. The pitch is exactly the same, use the DLC revenue to offset costs paid to EA for the license.

But then again, why would I want to line the pockets of my enemy?

What most don't realize, EA will sub contract but the terms are ridiculous.

Turn 10 only got them by trading Ferrari but Ferrari being the merchandising company it is, won't allow exclusives anymore beyond limited exclusivity to certain models (le Ferrari will be in GT later I bet). I wish all manufactures would wake up and realize they are limiting their brand awareness... Or maybe it's just Porsche these days...

GT players would be more likely to buy a Porsche than any nfs player...

Prediction: PD will wait until the current contract with EA expires and dump a giant bag of money on EA's desk.

This is the way I see it as well.

DLC would definitely pay for the cost of the obtaining Porsche for GT. EA knows this so they would jack up the price for sure. I think after their licensing is up though, there will be no more exclusives, hopefully. EA, Turn 10 and PD all have titles in which many play. With these titles comes the demand for cars that gamers want to drive. Satisfy the gamers and you make loads of sales on the titles. Why would a manufacturer go for an exclusive when they can get a little cash from everyone along with marketing worldwide with these gaming titles. EA definitely doesn't want to share a piece of the pie though. Outside of Shift 2, I have yet to purchase a NFS title since Hot Pursuit II on PS2. I don't like the direction it has gone. It was great when GT got BMW, Mercedes and Ferrari. Small steps everyone and I am sure we will get all that is desired. At least we all know that Kaz wants this to be a reality.

I think the manufacturers see it as a way to get extra income so they allow it. But yes I agree that they are limiting themselves. I started with GT1 and I have been exposed to many many cars that I was clueless about. Outside of Volkswagen, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini and Ferrari I honestly didn't know much about European cars outside of the States prior to GT. I have learned so much about cars and its parts since playing GT.
