This thread will be good to carry over into a GT7 section, whenever that happens, the other older thread here served well for talking about the idea of Porsche in GT6, so it'll stay that way. So no worries about this thread needing to be locked or merged or anything 👍

That poor dead horse .... I sorry, I said that out loud???

It would be awesome to at least get some modern RUFs in the game for the time being. EA has a vise grip hold on Porsche and chances of getting any any time soon is next to nil at a fictitious truck stop urinal. And knowing EA and their business practices ..... :scared:

Reading the whole article just reiterates how different kaz does things compared to other developers. The fact that he goes to Goodwood and adores every car (and maybe wants them all in game where most are missing, you must go to see) and how he knows how to drive and drive well. Messi or ronaldo dont develop fifa (and a few ex SAS did help on bf3 i think but got let go due to it). Hes pretty much got an in with most manufacturer (vision gran turismo for example) so being buddy buddy with porsche isnt a surprised but nice to no he has worked on it and when the contract does run out, hes got dibs.

Here's what i'm wondering.

Suppose they do add Porsche some time in the future. Does RUF get placed into the tuner category with NISMO or do they keep their normal car status? There's some people that wouldn't want to choose a 996 GT3 in arcade mode when the RGT accomplishes the same thing better.

Pretty sure it'll stay as a manufacturer since it builds cars.

This is clear indication that PD is NOT overly concerned about Nissans, as a lot of people normally think about PD and their car lineups. I know PD will do a damn good job featuring Porsche. That especially is granted how many Porsches PD can get their hands on and add to the lineup. You know there are going to be some Porsches that not a lot of us may not know about. I have already had my nightmares about racing that Ruf "Yellowbird" around Trial Mountain in that GT4 license test.

Now to go off-topic. For you all out there, if you want the best thing Electronic Arts has done with Porsche, it's called "Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed." I recommend the PC version. Every Porsche ranging from the 356 models to the 911 GT1 can be raced in that 2000 game. Playing that game will give you great perspective on what could be possible if PD wanted to include a vast variety of Porsches.

Still don't see that happening. GT5 had like what, ten DLC cars?

Well, we know that we're going to be getting a Vision GT car a month for quite some time. And those are of course all free. PD also probably has a back catalog of cars that they're putting the finishing touches on as well, so that they can be put into DLC down the road.

I will never buy EA games.

I hope Porsche will come with GT7...
the reason I i haven't bought a nfs game since the original most wanted

Plus remember the 911 that was in gt3??

Wasnt need for speed out before GT? When did Porsche put in the series? Wasnt that before GT? I dont want to google it. I rmember driving the M5 and 911 Turbo in a PS1 version. Unless that was the first Most Wanted.

Even if they didn't have the Porsche exclusive rights they still are the worst company ever. EA Voted Worst Company in America, Again

I don't disagree with people who don't like EA, all I'm saying is that anger towards EA with regards to the Porsche issue is somewhat misplaced.

The 911 was definitely on NFS: High Stakes on the PS1, which came out in 1999. I suspect that PD had a sniff of getting Porsche in GT3 considering that a Porsche was modelled, so I think that was around the time that EA signed (or extended?) the exclusivity contract.

Ahhh yes! Hiiiiggghhhh Staaaaaaaaaakes. That was an intense game. Especially trying to hide in between buildings at night. Cool game. Damn showing my age.

I get where your coming from. I don't have a problem with EA; however, I don't like how they won't let any other racing game have Porsche in their game.

I'm really curious as to when EA's contract with Porsche runs out. Until then, the best thing you can do to help bring Porsche to GT is to avoid buying any EA products.

Actually I believe it was 12 tracks and not cars. Cars I am not worried about. We will have 1200+. Now tracks is a different story. I mentioned this else were but if you had a choice between 1 car on 12 different tracks vs 12 cars on 1 track, the odds are much better with the tracks. It will have several layouts. Modeling just one track can get you 2-3 different layouts and that's not including reverse. I will take the tracks. I think they will have at least 3 different teams for GT6 DLC though. One for cars, one for tracks and one for patching and updating. I can't wait to see where GT6 stacks up a year from now.

Same as any contract. Until a contract is up, your bond by rules of that contract. If broken, there is a price to pay.

Sorry fellas. I tried to multi quote and add to my above post but it didn't work as I anticipated.

I'm pretty sure Kaz has always wanted to implement Porsche the last time a GT game had one was in 3 (not for every region though), and it was hidden. So he's probably wanted to have them in but didn't want to deal with EA BS.

Yea I know. People just want to be angry at a company who "hogs" one of the best car companies in the world.
