Yes you can. He's not asking for an exact number; he's asking for your estimated guess. Unless you have no conception of what numbers and percentages are, you can answer it.

You won't answer it.
Ok, I'd say... the majority... a 60% like standards to be kept in GT7. Happy now?

Same stuff as always... If you dont like standards, dont buy them, problem solved.

No, it's not, that's just burrying your head in the sand. It also means that you will not be able to complete the game, as standard cars are required for several events (in GT5/6, very unlikely to change in GT7 as the career mode is almost indentical from GT1 through to 6). Are you telling people they shouldn't be able to complete the game because they don't want to see PS2 models in a PS4 game?

  4. Whatever, we must keep standard cars if they don't have the time to make all of them premium
;)

Looks like someone deserves a cookie.

I wouldn't mind if they drop some standards, improve some of those cars and converting some other bunch of standard cars, I don't really care if they're not on release

Would I rather have standard BMW E46 M3, M3 CSL, M3 GTR, 2002 Turbo or V12 LMR, Or NO BMW E46 M3, M3 CSL, M3 GTR, 2002 Turbo or V12 LMR?
But when does it stop, where do we draw the line? Do we keep carrying over PS2 cars to PS5 too? We are on the brink of virtual reality and its acceptable to still use pixilated jagged cars from when Nsync and Backstreet Boys were popular? They need to start over and stop using assists from 10+ year old outdated hardware that's weaker than current cell phones(sarcasm but you get the point). It's not like they don't have PLENTY of time and money/resources. Upgrade the iconic and important standard cars to PS4 graphics and slowly bring the car count back up with up to par graphics. And please give us some new relevant exotics, Mclaren P1, LaFerrari, Koenigsegg, etc.

Interesting move by PD. I honestly didn't expect them to carry them over but I guess it was worthwhile to do so.

I have no problem with standards as long as they look like PS3 premiums.

If they look the same like they do now then GT7 should just be a PS3 game instead of a PS4 game.

PS3 looking cars on PS4 are OK.
PS2 looking cars on PS4 are NOT OK.

Like others have said, this is 2014, not 2000-2004, the competition is here and PD need to step it up in order to match them. Keeping standard cars isn't going to help.

Same stuff as always... If you dont like standards, dont buy them, problem solved. Game will be improved in every area, supposedly, because of a much powerful system. Standards being there doesnt equal to "same recycled content", they will be probably improved/fixed a bit. Anyway regardless of the standards we will see a much better graphics quality and surely a big sound improvement aswell.

And the same stuff here, defending this argument for it. It's recycled plain and simple if they're using PS2 assets in a PS4 game regardless on how they update it. The result is that it's still going to be inconsistent and it shouldn't belong in this game period. In addition, they probably won't separate them either, which likely going to happen. No I don't like to use standards and no I don't buy them, problem is not solved because the overall quality hurts. They should of ditched them in GT6 and worked on more important matters like improving the engine sounds. If they only had 400 premiums to work with we could of have better sounds because it would be easier to deal with. People like you value quantity over quality and areas like engine sounds suffer because they don't have the capacity to record engine sounds for 1200 cars in GT6 on the PS3. GT7 will get a major update while people who bought this game will get a partial update according to the article. All that time wasted on "prettying up" these standards that shouldn't belong there to begin with could have gone to creating the track maker, b-spec, better career mode, and improving the AI. If they happen to improve on all the standards, I would expect career mode to be rather thin because they are not going to have enough time to get everything they want in it. If you buy it regardless of the quality, that's your right, I'm not going to stop you or anyone who is excited for standard cars on a PS4.

I have no problem with standards as long as they look like PS3 premiums.

But then they wouldn't be Standards anymore, would they?

Honestly, they need to take 50, maybe 100 of the most popular Standards and upgrade them to 100% Premium quality. Ditch the rest.

That, combined with what's already in GT6, combined with whatever other new cars they add to GT7; you're probably looking at 500, maybe 600 cars, all Premium. If anyone out there isn't satisfied with that, you're just plain greedy.

Standards won't look like the current premiums that's for sure.

Shouldn't be too hard considering the other facet of this argument, the duplicate cars...

All this talk of standard cars made me break out my wallet and buy 20 of them today. Supra's, MR-2's, 300z's. Oh my!:sly:

They don't bother me. What bothers me are dupes, cars in bags, and Prototypes like the RX8, NSX, ect. that have the real car next to them in the dealership. For me, those can go.

Cheers fella's:cheers:

I can imagine GT9 on PS5 in 4K with PS2 cars ^^

Let them go Kaz.

So again the same blablabla with every new upcomming release of Gran Turismo. Fancy graphics more cars and probably still the same old 17 year old gameplay and same old boring SP. All those exclusive licenses with nothing special to add as just a name. How boring has this franchise become....

+1 👍

I wish Project Cars all the success, may it blow GT (was a big fan) and Forza away. The Career mode of both games are a joke... At least for real racing fans...

Like others have said, this is 2014, not 2000-2004, the competition is here and PD need to step it up in order to match them. Keeping standard cars isn't going to help.

PD already have 400+ premiums and most likely about 600 premiums by the time GT7 releases. Project Cars and Driveclub don't even have this many cars combined. Keeping the standard cars in GT7 isn't going to hurt PD.

If PD really wants to be competitive, they (and the fans) should worry more about the next-gen car sounds, physics, the A.I, and the online options. People get their panties bunched up when they hear standard cars even though there are ~500 premiums to play with, I just don't understand. There are other much more import aspects to complain about.

Wow, GT is really falling behind by trying to hold onto the past. Oh well, good thing MS dropped the kinect and made the XB1 $400.
I'm fine with PS4 for The Show and XB1 for Forza.

While I'd prefer all the standards to be upgraded to premium, I understand that just isn't feasible. I personally don't mind having standards in the game because there are a lot of fantastic cars that aren't premium but I definitely understand those that dislike standards. I think the best option, like someone said earlier, is to give us the option to install or use standard cars. If someone doesn't want to see standard cars when they race, give them the option to turn them off so the AI won't use them either. For those of us that don't mind the standards, have an option that lets us drive and race against them.

If GT7 has standard cars (and tracks presumably) then they deserve no plaudits for graphical quality, no matter how good the newer parts of the game may look.

Standards are a crutch that is stopping them from making a lot of good cars into premiums. Throw away the 🤬 training wheels and join the rest of us in 2010, Polyphony.

Even if they put filters, it will be a real mess, online with and without standard?!
Over the years, developers complain about hardware capabilities, now they have hardware and they still can find excuses to show bad work, or no work at all.
I started from Zx Spectrum 48k, and in that time i was amazed with the quality in games, we never complain, that's what we have, but now we are at 2014, really?
I don't understand why people will buy a 400€ console to play the same they have now.

I will buy GT7 regardless because I love the series since I rented (Blockbuster allowed you to rent PS1 games back then) the first Gran Turismo game which I then bought and have bought every other GT game since. I have mixed emotions on standards being in GT7. It is upsetting that these will be PS2 quality cars on a PS4 game, if it is released in 2015, the standards were made with technology 10 years old. However, it would be upsetting to loose those cars completely such as some of the LMPs, GT, touring, and rally cars that have still not been upgraded. I don't think PD should remove these cars, but they should IMPROVE them. When I say improve them I mean upgrading the outside of the car so that things don't look pixilated as much. For a cockpit I would do what Grid Autosport did or just leave them alone. That is the bare minimum of what PD should do.

I've voted for "If standards are in GT7, I'm out."

When will this madness ever stop? It will take them a very long time to convert everything to premium while still adding new cars. If that is how Kaz thinks, why any car was ever ruled out of a GT game? Those cars didn't have any fans? We should have every car that ever appeared in a GT game, in GT6, doesn't matter if the model is from PS1 or PS2.

If the way a car looks is not important, just make a box car and let people mimic every mechanic aspect of a real car and use their imagination to fill the gaps.

Moving on, people. Nothing to see here. Who will join me on pCars?
