May Update

I would love any new contents (car/tracks) and other updates (rain), but I'm "surprised" I still don't know all the tracks : BB raceway for example, I always skipped this track until this weekend (daily race, GrB), mostly because the layout looks stupid, I was thinking "another poor oval track for beginners, I won't play this thing"... Big mistake, I found it was a very enjoyable track to race, lot less boring that I would have expected ! Another example, I probably didn't race the new Dragon trail layout more than 5-10 laps, I still have to discover it deeply.

So this is just to say that for a casual gamer, the content is not so thin... But again, I admit I feel the need for updates, because it makes me feel that the game is living, and that "oh, I have to try this brand new stuff !"

My favorite is Trial Mountain then Deep Forest Raceway.
You may know about it, but if you don't,
Kazunori had stated that they do have all the files etc. for Deep Forest (for Trial Mountain too) which run in GTS but they would need to resize and redesign everything in order to fit in GT Sport.
We are already working on Deep Forest; we actually have the data for Deep Forest that runs on Gran Turismo Sport but it does have some problems.
The problem that we had with some of the older tracks from previous Gran Turismo games was the scale being off in certain places. The size of the trees are very large, or the width of the curbstones, etc. There were curbstones that were wider than cars!
I also laughed at "there were curbstones that were wider than cars!". *cough* Dragon Trail *cough*
And he also adds:
If we want to bring that into the quality of GT Sport now, there is a lot that we have to redesign, and it is not that easy.

They promise Up to 500 cars, why are you defending them. PD has really slacked off here.

I am not defending them. Sorry if my post gave you that impression.

I just don't believe they will give any free DLC cars anymore. Maybe I'm being pessimistic (which unfortunately is a really negative trait about my personality), but as I said, I hope I'm wrong and we still get free content.

GT Sport's will continue to be free. Micro transactions will not be a thing again.
And yes we will still get new updates and new content don't worry.

Microtransactions are unrelated to whether DLC is free or paid. A microtransaction is the purchase of a virtual currency with a real one.
Yes and that was my point. That microtransactions will not make it in GT Sport, so the content will continue to be "free" for the community.

There should be a Silvia(or two) in May update.
About cars, it's definitely going to be a Silvia or two.
I'm refering to 1990 S13 and 2002 S15 though as they are from GT6.
Source?

No, you're mixing the two things together again. I explained it as clearly and concisely as I could, so I'm not sure how.

A microtransaction is not downloadable content. A microtransaction is the purchase of an in-game currency with real money - such as in GT6 when you could buy credit tokens with your cash: https://www.gtplanet.net/gt6-in-game-credit-packs-now-on-sale-at-amazon-uk/

Downloadable content is extra content for a game that you download. This can be free (GT6) or paid (GT5).

The absence of microtransactions from GT Sport is absolutely unrelated to whether DLC will be free or not. There's no connection. They're separate things. One does not beget the other.

I'm not sure if @DavidMonoy97 is familiar with GTA, but if you are then it is the same thing. GTA has free DLC, but the in game prices are exorbitant enough that many users buy "shark cards" through the PS store which gives them in-game currency to buy things. Buying those shark cards is called a microtransaction

Wrong user - ironically it's "@GT Sport" who seems to be conflating DLCs and MTs. He's the latest in a long, long line of users who seems to think that GT Sport not having microtransactions means it will never have paid DLC. We see it a lot here.

A GTA Shark Card is basically an in-game, pre-loaded credit card. You buy it with real money and it has an in-game value. It's just done in a form that plays into the game's mythology, but functionally it's no different than GT6's credit packs. Or any other microtransactions. As that's what microtransactions are.

Whatever form it comes in, future content for GT Sport, at least some of it, will be paid content.

You'd be in cloud cuckoo land to think otherwise, there is no way it will live on for several years to come on the basis of the 3+ million copies it sold.

Personally, I'd happily to pay for more content now, they have offered up a good amount of additional free content* and I've had over 400 hours out of it and want more content to extend that experience.

(* Before someone offers up the 'all of that should have been in the game already...' please don't bother, it's a standpoint which has been done to death and ignores many of the realities of modern game creation)

Considering the low volume of sales for what the franchise is use to and the fact that we know how PD take their time to release the cars and tracks as polished as possible I wouldn't wait another 12 cars and maybe a number closer to what other games offer by DLC (5 or 6 cars) that is even considering if we are actually getting a May update.

Oops, thanks for the correction. Just wanted to see if an analogy would help those who are confused.

Honestly I wouldn't mind microtransactions or paid dlc packs. Look what microtransactions have done to GTA V (obviously GTS is not nearly as popular as GTA), but without a doubt, it extended the life of the game. If throwing money at PD means we get more content, then take my money.

I'm not really expecting anything for a while, to be honest. They delivered on the 50 car timeline they announced last November. And there's been no official announcement from PD of anything forthcoming. If we do get anything, I wouldn't be surprised it if didn't happen for a few more months.

See this above? This is a shining example of those community members, I talk about, that have become apathetic toward PD's posture. A few months, a year, two years, who cares. Content will come... eventually... maybe...

This is a company's dream customer. They can take all the time in the world, whatever gets done, gets done, whatever doesn't, doesn't and everything is fine with fans.

Personally, I hope May marks the return of more substantial updates to GT Sport and that PD continues to engage with us, like in the first months of the year, instead of closing themselves away. I don't even mind to start paying for the content. The quality they produce, when they set their minds to it, deserves to be rewarded.

Ok I was really dumb with this one.
I was wondering how can there be paid DLC if there aren't microtransactions.
Yes now I got it...
A paid DLC could be a thing but it will need money from your PSN wallet (for example) in order to be bought. Microtransactions would need PSN money in order to get in-game money.
If what I said is still wrong then I think my human intelligence is too low.:nervous:

That's a pretty big assumption to make about someone over a fairly benign post. You could've asked for some clarity instead of jumping to conclusions as to the type of community member that I am.

Are you Kaz? happy to pay, really?

No assumption made. PD have already stated that new cars and tracks will come and that updates would continue beyond March. Here and here.

Yet, you say PD promised nothing, beyond the 50-car plan, and even say that you wouldn't be surprised if nothing came for months. That's unreasonable given the current information. You have no reason to think there would be nothing coming for months, other than making an assumption that PD will just go quiet again. I didn't intend to single you out, specifically, it just so happened that a post, by you, appeared and could be used to serve as an example of the "rock-bottom expectations" mindset some folks have, in the GT community.

I see your post in two possible ways: either you were misinformed and therefor offered a misinformed opinion on future updates or you have the information and still choose to assume the unreasonable scenario of no support for months.

If it's the former, then I can apologize, but I also ask for understanding of my view, because I've been lurking on the forums enough time to have witnessed the phenomenon I describe quite often, in the long periods of PD silence.

If it's the latter, again, why the contradicting expectation?

You're still operating under a lot of assumptions. Frankly, I don't understand why you felt the need to target my post considering there wasn't a whole lot for you to go on. Again, my post was pretty benign. I'm not posting anything that outright confirms or denies anything that's been floating around GTP.
