New seasonal events: Time Trial No. 31 & Drift Trial No. 31

The Grand Valley Leaderboards are getting intense. I'm in a 3 way tie for 16th And 15th is .004 ahead of us.

I tinkered with the f2010 if anyone is interested, can run 56's atm but keep mucking the chicane :( anyway........

aero 51/100, ballast 195/30, limiter to make the pp

springs 17.2/16.8, bound 8/7, rebound 7/8, stabs 6/6

camber 2.3/1.0, toe +.04/-.02

default tranny at 196mph top, then a longer 2nd and 3rd, and a shorted 5th and 6th

Lsd 8/37/16

nothing fancy, the car is planted and rotates well enough for now, I'll post improvements if I make any.

Have you tried maybe putting a bit more downforce at the front?

Have you tried maybe putting a bit more downforce at the front?

Sure, at 65/100 you can move the ballast 200/0 and chip away more power. It's on rails that way but I'm faster with the hp above 510 👍

I tried my luck with the Drift Trials. Here's how it went.

The Suzuka event was tough until I finally understood what I had to do to score high. My car was a Datsun 240Z that used to be Grand Prix Red, but I switched it over to a nice blue color in honor of the good old Devil Z. Anyhow, I didn't know what to do early on until I thought about how much I had to swing the car around in the corners. I didn't start seeing results until I put on Comfort Softs up front and Comfort Mediums on the rear (for better drifting). It was then I noted my 240Z being better able to slide out in the corners. I started then experimenting different tuning options. First, it was the modifications that did not impact PP (transmission, suspension, etc.). Afterwards, I tried piling on power. The best effort of mine resulted in a 5790 score- good for Silver.

The AEM S2000 was ready to play at Spa-Francorchamps. It seemed pretty easy to chain together some good drifts with some of the long corners at Spa-Francorchamps. I really felt like I could have EASILY won Gold. I know Spa-Francorchamps as one of the finest racing circuits in the world even if it isn't 10+ miles long with 70+ corners. However, the drift section for Spa-Francorchamps is very fun to me. I really enjoyed my runs around Spa-Francorchamps, all the way to a best score of 11713 points.

So all I could manage for both is Silver in my best runs. Maybe I get better and knock down a Gold or two, but these are pretty good challenges.

Thanks for this, was good enough to break a noob like me into 9580, which as high as I have cover been, and gave me a chance to use a car that never usually sees the light of day.

Cheers

For all of you F2007 Lovers - Use the following settings on Spa - I've found them to be fastest - at least for me

Aero: 92/100
Ballast: 200 @0
Camber: 2.4/2.4 (You may use 2.4/2.2 if you like it more)

I'm afraid those are the only values I can give out publicly. The majority of the Suspension and LSD were given to me by a friend and so I can't hand them out. Enjoy. The car should feel nicely compliant and stable.

One clue about the Spring Rates, Front should be higher than rear. Tweak them for stability.

Interesting, that's droping a fair amount of power isn't it? Perhaps I need another look now that I'm comfortable with the combo. I ran the f7 with min df iirc.

I initially tried minimum but it was just too slow in the corners..You won't get that time back on straights. To me the above combo is in the just right zone. Dunno what your time is..I'm currently sitting on a 1:56.683 with a sloppy 1st corner - around .2-.3 and another .4 sprinkled throughout. Though I'm sure a better driver than me can probably go quite a bit lower.

Edit: Scratch that..new time of 1:56.264. Just go it now with ABS=10. Looking at the lap there's at least .5-.6 left for me, If I don't make any mistakes. I make lots of mistakes :)

Mid to high 57's, I'm gonna experiment with the 07 and 10 shortly. It's been too many years since I was competitive though :dopey: I can still find an acorn now and again so it's not like I've lost my mind quite yet, (hoping  )

edit: Seems for the f7 I was faster in a no oil change car with 200 miles, higher hp and less torque, they balance with the pp, something to look at.

I regularly oil change mine, since I use it pretty frequently (2300ish miles on the virtual odometer). Though the amount of times I've run Spa already, I'll prolly need an oil change soon - Love the track. If you want I can let you use my exact car, I just can't post the settings here..due to reasons mentioned in my previous post.

I'm hosting a lobby on Grand Valley East with the TT31 restrictions & Shuffle Races

I stand corrected  I'm using a fair bit more now 👍

Cool, keep an eye in here, good stuff being shared :)

I have several f1's, at various stages of oil, brake in, etc. Nutty. Feel free to add gtp_arora if you wish

Congratulations J0KER to get the 2nd Place! 👍

Thanks Gerchu:cheers:,
On that lap I was actually 0.050 faster than yinato's P1 Time coming into the final section, I made a small mistake and lost nearly 2 tenths :ill:

I think the perfect lap with my setup might be 1:22.6xx

Thanks Gerchu:cheers:,

No such thing as a "perfect lap" Or at least I cant find one.... lol
1:59.2xx @ Spa :-(

Well done 👍.

Unlucky on that but it usually happens to us one way or another. Good luck on achieving your maximum.

I think a perfect lap with your setup is dependent on driver so someone like Arnaud Lacombe will most likely get below 1:22.6xx with it. You might do too as early predictions always seem off by a few tenths, a bit like GT Academy 2011.

Stating the obvious here - I think news of GT Academy 2012 is why more poeple seem to be coming back.

My final f10 set, beter or worse it's good for 55's with this goof pilot.

aero 78/100, ballast 200/5
5430 3775 2825 2180 1760 1485 1295, final 5620 and top 193
10/40/20
spring 17.4/17.5, ext 8/8, comp 8/9, sway 6/7
camber 2.4/1.0, toe 0/0
brakes 5/4, abs 10

BTW, using 90/100 df on the f7, at a 56.8 iirc.

👍

Hi everyone,

First, for starters, I would like to thank me for sharing PR1VATEJ0KER configuration.

I know you say whether or not it is really good but at least it allowed me to be consistent and highly effective.

On the active direction, I tried and I was not really as fast as I turned in 1'22'1xx without using the sidewalk in the tunnel, this car has good stability, so I think there is no big change.

On my lap, my greatest pride, is not the time itself, but especially my pattern, I could string together 1'21'9xx over 4 rounds in a row !

I have a really good feeling, I trained for a week online with my friend GTPL_Amo in Nissan 370z with tires comforts means without any aid or ABS, it seems to work because I still feel more comfortable before.

I would also talk about the'' perfect'' round, first perfection is not of this world, nobody is able to pass his perfect lap, even Arnaud Lacombe, it is not magic and Moreover, it is always possible to be faster.

When I pulled out my 1'21'793 I knew I had lost time to turn before the tunnel entrance, I went back and I managed to take a look truly amazing, for me anyway.

I found myself in the tunnel in '860 and I managed to achieve this trick with a superb area 3, I get out of the tunnel extremely fast and I spent the last corner of the same kind. My sector two is '378, which is very fast, my only one sector disappoints me a little, now I tell myself that the tower is not perfect and I should really lucky to repeat the same trick on a sector in a '429 (my best)...

PR1VATEJ0KER, you know, I missed a lot of opportunities, I think you do not have to be disappointed before trying to target the 1'21'7xx you should begin by being regular and then 1'21'9xx, in the flukes can not advance.

Sincerely, for my part, with your setup my friend, I do not see how to improve my time, I would very fortunate to successfully enter 1'21'6xx ... I could do it but I would play for hours and hours, it does not interest me...

I'm really happy with my time, especially as we fight on equal terms with the same configuration, if I am going to because we found a better setup I do not care, the important me is the performance level playing field.

Finally I congratulate you my friend, you're friendly and very fast, an excellent player for short fair. 👍

If I can help you in the future it will be with pleasure.

Good night.

Regards,
Yinato.

Though I dont know if I can go that fast, I've driven out of my skin on this one.

Hey it was no problem Yinato, I've used your config from previous
TT's more than a few times 👍

Ive had 1:21.9xx's 5 or 6 times today(Playing for 2 hours on the TT)
It's always 2 good sections and one okay section.
So hopefully .8xx will be possible soon.

Congrats on that mega quick 1:21.739

Hi all, if anyone's interested, I have an F10 and a Dome on share.

The F10 is running Arora's earlier tune and is on PSN: slittlehales

The Dome is running PR1VATEJOKER's tune with chassis strengthening and weight reduction. PSN: gtp_Deve

Cheers

It's funny, for Spa I kept aiming for a 1:12 (or 2:12, I forget), when the whole time it was X:16! So I pulled it off after my second lap with a X:15, and was like 'DAMN! Having another go' God I love the Peugeot 908, what a car, eventually pulled a X:13 and saw that I already made gold, that was it.

Dome Zero seems to be the only one (out of only two I'll admit I tried), that has a chance around here, first lap I could complete, finished it with a few seconds to spare, the other car was a Mazda Cosmo that just wanted to oversteer, in slow motion as well, very irritating.

Does anyone have a good tune for their Speed 12 on SPA? I'm stuck at just over 26,000. I want to get top 100 but I'm really bad at tuning. :grumpy:

Thanks.

Hi all. So far at Grand Valley I'm sitting around the 500th place range. That seems to be my usual spot on these. I would really like to improve my skill so I can run with the top guys. I practice alot but just seem to hit a brick wall so here is my question. I'm looking for one of the top guys on here to befriend me and teach me the finer points of TTing and just racing in general. Somebody to take me under their wing so to speak and someone to practice with. I don't usually ask for help and hate to be a bother, but I feel thats the next step to me getting better. Anyone who would be willing to be my coach, so to speak, I would greatly appreciate it. Advice is good, but really looking for someone to run and practice with. Thanks to anyone of the "aliens" willing to help.

I wasn't able to improve my Grand Valley lap today. I'm losing almost 0.5 seconds in the last turn. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong there. Either I get on the throttle early so i tap the curbing and glide into the dirt or I come in too hot and lose a lot of straightway speed. But if I can fix it, a 1:22.0xx is possible.

Wow, I'm impressed, I'm still in the Grand Valley Leaderboards and still the fastest russian there  I need to try it again with the last of Joker's posted setups, maybe i can push it to the limit and break 1.23.xxx :)

KB18FAN
I'm not really a pro, but the only thing a can tell you from my personal experience: watch top-players replays, try to remember where they are breaking, accelerating etc. And try to load top-10 guys ghosts on TTs. It really helps me to improve, because you are always trying to catch that ghost and pushing yourself to the limit.

Cheers
