New seasonal events: Time Trial No. 31 & Drift Trial No. 31

How do you detune a FGT to get to 750? I have two and the lowest I can get either is 795. I took power to 50%, and took off all downforce, and i'm still at 795.:dunce:

Add Ballast my man. đź‘Ť

I did a quick run, finally broke into the 1:22.4's. My sector 3 times are finally dropping. Once I get to string together my best sectors, I see a low 2 or even a high 1 in reach.
Great Driving Doodle, what sensitivity do you drive with?

You know what? It is absolutely strange to tone down an F1 car. When I saw some of the top early times for the Spa-Francorchamps Time Trial, I saw mostly the Formula Gran Turismo or even a Ferrari F2007. I just used my Mazda 787B instead at about... 715PP. People really surprise me when I see what the top players are using in events.

I did it in the 787b also. Im top of my friend list so not bad. I only saw 2 non formula cars in the top 256. Props to those guys.

There is a Minolta 88V in 15th at the moment for the anti Formula guys.

I use 7 for Ferrari F1's and the X2010/X2011. Everything else I use 0. Right now I just dropped down to a 1:22.355. The 3rd fastest controller time behind samurai and gt-uncle.

Still a work in progress but here's my FGT tune so far...

Aero = 65 / 88
Ballast = 200%
Power = 54.1%
Max power = 467hp
PP = 750

Suspension
RH = -5/ +5
SR = 17.4/ 17.5
DE = 8/8
DC = 8/8
ARB= 7/7
Camber= 1.5/1.5
Toe = 0.00/ 0.20

LSD = 15/40/30

Transmission
Used a gear trick by setting all gears to default
Then set final to max 5.500 and top speed to minimum 149
Now adjust the gears to...

6.131
4.735
3.625
2.864
2.364
1.986
1.725

Now set final gear back to 3.350
Top Speed (at top of settings sheet) should be 237hp

I never use the 7th gear as 6th can manage both of the long straights without losing any speed đź‘Ť
I sneaked into the 1'55's after lots of tweaking to get this set up last night! now I feel happy to just sit and race tonight :)
My wheel is set on Simulation mode with Feedback strength 3
Not usually my thing the F1 cars in GT but this track/combo is great fun! Good luck to all hitting their target times :cheers:

---------------------------------------------

Those 1:53's and 54's are outstanding! I want the leaders set up please? :sly:
Massive Props to TEW_-RAGING- for the 1'54.7 in the Minolta!!! :bowdown:

Cheers :cheers:

Thanks for the tip on ballast...never used it before. Took 10 sec. off my Minolta time.

Great job doodle, I'm too controller user and curently have 22'69x. Maybe I could go '550 but under that is very unlikely.

Did it first with the Sauber C9 but the Fgt glides the track, however silly it may seem to de-tune it.
750 pp is a hard figure, low for the formulas, a tad to high for the la sarthe cars

A few people have asked for my tune for DOME on Grand Valley ,
I like to share so :)

Suspension;
40, -25
6.6, 8.0
5,6
3,4
5,4

Toe
1.2, 1.4
-0.3, 0.25

LSD
10,12,14

Brakes
3,1

Adjust Ballast so Car is 903kg
Adjust power so PP = 370

Transmission, Set Max Speed to 190, then adjust final gear to 3.750
Max speed up top should be 202

Its not a great tune, and has no basis on fact or science.
Also, 2nd or 3rd gear needs some tweaking for entrance to the tunnel, which is just horrific

High 1.24 using all your advice. Dpad too. Many thanks PJ. :)đź‘Ť

Managed a 1:24.8 in the dome good enough for 16XXth in the world. Lots to improve on but was borrowing friends car so didn't tune it. Reckon with a bit of tuning I could find another half a second.

Also had a go on spa in the FGT, managed a 2:01.5XX good enough for about 56XXth. What car Is everybody using on spa, is it still FGT or have people moved onto f10/f2007?
Thanks

Depends what you like, I used the F2007 because I can push it more in the corners and turns in better. Did a 1.56.5 with that, did a 1.57.5 with the FGT.

Hey KB18FAN,
I think the key to a fast lap is a little racing theory, then have fun and get LOADS of experiance. Every so often something new 'clicks' so to speak.

I learned most of what I know from the GT Academy 2010, I literally did 2000+ laps in 4 weeks on the Indy Road Course and I was still 1 second off the fastest lap.

Learning a track takes me about 50 laps to know the track well,
then about 150-300+ laps to really know precisely where I want to brake, turn-in, apex,throttle,exit(for a certain car). Then deal with slight variables of each lap.
Ive done about 480 laps of Grand Valley East now:dunce:.

You literally need to pick a TT and say this is the one I'm going to learn to perfection.
đź‘Ť:rolleyes::eek::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::gtplanet::gtpflag:
and just jealous to your patience! I really wish to see you driving.Well done mate. Well done.

I'm down to a 1:57.3 at Spa in the FGT now.......As a result of studying the fastest 3 guy's replays. I can probably find another 0.5 by being a bit neater in general a bit better through the chicane but I'm not sure I can get anywhere near the fastest guys. I'll keep working at it though.

Gonna attempt some online racing
Join my room for same car races on Grand Valley East & Others.
Just for fun, but race clean đź‘Ť

Room No. Closed

My connection is *&%*%&

PR1VATEJ0KER,

You should try with the addition of 200kg, you will reach a top speed. You should have 134cv for 1046kg.

He's tuned 7th gear out too. Hits 178-9 in 6th not 7th. Good skills and a result.

Liking your tune here PJ. Unsure with the diff. so I'm playing with the settings, trying to follow the guide. Headache on the way.

Cheers for sharing the settings. đź‘Ť

Anyone watch Yam's replay on Spa, hes running big camber on Rear (maybe 3)
Gonna try for a top 100 place.

EDIT: Made P101 with 1:56.4xx.
Heres the tune for anyone interested, it should handle pretty solid

Are you talking about Grand Valley? Top Speed is better with 200kg?
I actually just tried this and dropped another tenth to a 1:22.266. I guess it works.

It's 1046kg, do stg3 reduction first đź‘Ť

Humm...I actually have the stock weight + 200kilo ballest on top of it to get into the minimum range.

Will have to try that out in an hour đź‘Ť thanks a bunch for the 411.

Best I can do is # 147 @ 1:123.073 :ouch:

PR1VATEJ0KER
Will try 2moro, thanks for confirming ;) đź‘Ť

I did lose about 2 tenths in sector 1 so I'll be seeing a 1:21.9 hopefully soon.

Actually, that's not the best Ballast to get a better Top Speed than the PR1VATEJ0KER's Tune. Also, I've checked that the Ballast Position works better on the back end, but it takes you to change the Suspension Setting & it take you to change the Transmission Setting so, all this end on a new Tune that I don't think you guys wanna do. :sly:
If you do all of this changes, I think a 1'21.9 time will be more easy to do, and hence, a 1'21.4 can be a reality.
See it to believe it, wait my times & if I (a poor pilot :crazy:) get a 1'21.9 or better it will mean I right. :dunce:

i haven't played gt5 for a month
today i finally have time to give the new seasonals a go but the game keeps freezing on me
I do the time trial, win gold, but when i leave the track i only get a GT5 logo and nothing happens.
my PS3 resets and my time is not recorded when i return to the game
i have done the first time trial 3 times now
Can anyone help me ?

Had a few laps today at Spa and it was fun.
Did 1:56,719 I think with F2007. Currently at 219 but I do have a lot to pick up with a better run.
I have been 0,3 sec faster to the first split and I have done the last sector 0,5 faster so that will be low 56 or even high 55.

The best thing is that for the first time I am faster with the wheel:)

Nice lap, did you tune it or is it close to stock? I can't seem to get anywhere close to 56s or 57s without a tune. Is this one of your shared cars? If it is you mind me giving it a try?

I'm at a 157 somthing with a FGT.

I'm finding this tune much more effective than Private's one. Shaved almost 1 sec. so I must thank you alot for this. But once again it's just my driving style.
