Little late sorry mate. You will have to start on hards like most of the field will be. Remember you can all nominate your tyre well before the sunday deadline.

Welcome back mate!. Ah come on i know you can make it! Just strap into the drivers seat as usual and win those races. A few of us haven't had a chance to really tune/test the car for round 1 so you will be in the same boat as a lot of us.

As we all know race 1 is always a bit of a test race for most when it comes to setups and strategy.

Quick note to all.

Remember that this season qualifying is split into 2 x 15 minute sessions with Tier 2 going out at 8:30pm and Tier 1 going out at 8:45pm. Due to this season not using staggered starts you need to ensure you do the following to avoid losing your qualifying position.

Once you finish your qualifying session and have left the track.
- DO NOT re-enter the track as this will reset your current time and put you at the back of the grid
- If you want to see your time go into watch race after you have left the track

With the way the free run works in GT5 it keeps everyones position and qualifying time up until that person re-enters the track at which point their time and result on the timings gets reset and puts them at the rear of the timings.

Now i am aware of the bug that when you go into the watch race view it sometimes will not focus on a car but just pan around the track like its in idle. What you do here is the following to fix it.

- Enter your tuning screen and go through the A, B, C tune options then exit
- Try watch race again
- If it idles again then repeat until it corrects the problem

DO NOT re-enter the track as i know this will sometimes fix the issue but it will also reset your time and grid position on the timing screen which makes it harder for me to sort everyone before the race as the only other option to avoid all this is to have me not qualify at all and just watch everyones times and start from the back for every race. Not exactly ideal.

Thats all boys. See you all tonight.

So just a quick post-race summary.

Struggled in qualifying to get a good time with limited testing on the circuit (like most drivers). Got a good start (hard not to when we all go at the same time lol) and went side by side with toiv, heading on to the back straight i went wide and got on the yellow stuff and spun in front of Oni, Toiv and the rest of the pack. Burried my foot in the throttle hoping it will light them up and avoid stopping mid track or in the path of Toiv, luckily enough i was missed by everyone and received some damage to the right front.

Pushed on looking for a 25 lap stint on the hard compound, tried to do my trade mark outside overtaking move on Jol only to run out of road and tap the grass and a repeat of my 4 wheel drift/spin at the same area I did in the GT300 series.

On lap 21 i spun out of the two hairpins forcing me to rethink my strategy.

Put on my mediums and pushed myself to the extreme, put my second set of mediums about 11-13 laps from the end and was peeling time off. Timed (fluked) my fuel strategy and I don't think i would've made 1 more lap.

Congrats to Toiv on his win, thanks to Oni for not holding me up towards the end as he seen the pace i was carrying.

Note to JTV: When i did that accidental dive on you at the sweeping left hand corner i felt it wasn't a clean move, this is why i pulled over and let you back passed on the back straight.

Funny moment of the race, seeing JTV drive along the wall to try and avoid hitting me and Jasr sliding sideways on the opposite side heading in to turn 1 lol

Gents,

The Cac_Graphs(TM) for Monday's race are now done, and the replay has been uploaded. :)

Let me know if you spot any errors. The numbers all start to blur together after a few hours and combined with deteriorating typing skills often produces unexpected results. :yuck:

Cac.

Cheers Cac. Took a quick look at it. Looked good to me. Didn't spot anything wrong.

How's about those lap times! Across 9 different drivers everyone was so close to each other.

:D

The "Lap Comparison Graph" is a bit of a flawed idea at this stage, due to limitations within the Google Docs graphing options. The trend graphs used for the Postition and Gap info are great as they allow for displaying only those drivers your interested in for comparison, but do not allow for "Y" axis limits in order to zoom in on tightly packed data to show small differences. The trend graphs are "Auto Scaling from 0" only.:grumpy:

Time for me to send another "suggestion request" to Google+ I think. 💡

Cac. :)

Glenn i hope you understand how much we ALL appreciate the work you put in to your graphs, i'm sure none of us can comprehend how much work is involved.

Between Oni and yourself with the graphs and artwork is what really seperates us from everyone else.

It's an honor to drive and participate in this series.

The graph is interesting thing to look at, specifically the lap time comparison chart, i managed the quickest lap for the last 6 consecutive laps..

Haha mate at the rate your going Google should hire you.

Guys i'll need the rest of the teams by Sunday.

ORS | SEASON 9 | PRE RACE BRIEFING

For round 2 we head to Japan for a 45 lap race around the famed Fuji Speedway F.

ORS_S9_R2_zpsa7f6001c.jpg

This track is straight forward with the ORS white line rule for all corners. Therefore i should not have to advise what is a cut and what is not around here. If you are found to be cutting corners consistently to gain an advantage then you will be penalised by the stewards. Penalties can range from point deductions, 1 race bans and up to disqualifications from the entire ORS season 9. Ensure you have read all the rules in the opening post (page 1).

The pit exit around Fuji Speedway F sends you out just before turn 1 on the main straight. Make sure you keep right and do not cross the pit exit line. As you are coming out into the path of other drivers remember that the car behind has right of way so please you common sense to avoid any collisions. Regarding pit entry you MUST stay inside the pit entry lines when entering the pits. The pit entry around Fuji Speedway has a slight chicane on entry. Make sure you do not cut this chicane as penalties will apply.

If you find yourself off the track be mindful when rejoining, please be aware of your position on the track relative to your fellow races. Drivers rejoining the track must give way to race traffic and not become an obstruction.

The following drivers need to ensure they are carrying the below ballast for Monday night.

Tier 1
TT-R_Toivo - 35kgs

Tier 2
mrtaital - 25kgs

Failure to comply can results in 1 race bans to removal from the series.

Now finally i need everyone's qualifying/race start tyre by 11:59pm Sunday night. If you fail to provide me with your qualifying tyre by the deadline you will be forced to qualify and start on Racing Hard tyres.

Regards,
Oni

I still can't get over my performance in Race 1. While I only came 4th, the fact that I was actually competitive in a full enduro was quite a surprise. Actually I thought that my car was accidently over speced. But CEO inspected my ride and the Cac-graphs[TM] and lap times don't lie. Really hoping I can keep my momentum going seeing that its taken me 2 full seasons to get here.

Yes great work on the graphs Cac! Can't imagine how much effort it takes to churn through all the data.

Here is my small contribution to the ORS community. Some happy snaps for us to remember the great opening round of Season 9.

Gents,

For those of you who do not have access to a PC to surf the web, and instead use the humble PS3's browser for the task, will have found out that the Graphs displayed by Google Docs do not work on the PS3. (The spreadsheet tables work fine though.)

While far from being a great solution, these links below will at least allow the PS3 browser to display those graphs, although in low-res unfortunately. (Interactively as well!) Put the cursor over the graph and press R3 to zoom in.

Also, unfortunately, the Lap Times graph is too complex even for this method of viewing for Google to handle, so brings up an error page. :(

Cheers to everyone for getting their tyre choice in. Those that didn't make it before the deadline will be qualifying and starting on the racing hard compound.

Asuka cheers for those photos. Splendid job on the little write up. Hope to see you up the pointy end of the field again tomorrow night.

Yeah couldn't find a team member so I'm a loner on this series...

Guess I'll present my team now... I put hours of effort into this logo...

Gonna C-U-CUM-on-Bie-BER!!!

No idea what the colour of the car is.

Oni,

I just noticed the Calendar dates conflict with a family holiday, i will be on a cruise departing 1830 on Monday the 11th of March and I won't be returning till the 23rd.

Thus i will miss the final two rounds of this series.
