I have been given the task from Rota to nominate the medium compound as his qualifying tyre. I also am selecting the medium compound for qualifying.

See you all tomorrow night.

ORS | SEASON 9 | PRE RACE BRIEFING

For round 3 we head over to High Speed Ring /Reverse for a 3 x 20 lap sprint race.

ORS_S9_R3_zpse6cd3d0a.jpg

The standard ORS white line rules apply. If you are found to be cutting corners consistently or frequently then you will be penalised by the stewards. Penalties can range from point deductions, 1 race bans and up to disqualifications from the entire ORS season 9. Ensure you have read all the rules in the opening post (page 1).

Regarding the pit entry around High Speed Ring /Reverse make sure you do not enter at full speed as it may reset you and result in some time lost entering the pits. When exiting the pits be mindful of cars approaching. The car behind has right of way so please use common sense to avoid any collisions.

If you find yourself off the track be mindful when rejoining, please aware of your position on the track relative to your fellow races. Drivers rejoining the track must give way to race traffic and not become an obstruction.

The following drivers need to ensure they are carrying the below ballast for all 3 sprint races Monday night.

Tier 1
TT-R_Toivo - 35kgs
GTP_JTV - 25kgs

Tier 2
Rotamasta7 - 35kgs

Failure to comply can results in 1 race bans to removal from the series.

Now finally all drivers must make sure they submit their tyre choice for qualifying/race start by 11:59pm tonight. Once your tyre choice has been submitted you cannot change it.

Regards,

Oni
ORS Committee

I haven't heard of any issues such as blackouts in Sydney. I'm doing fine here.

If there is a severe lack of attendance we can postpone it a week due to all the drama happening in QLD.

See how it goes i suppose. They expect the storm surge (heavy winds and rain) to hit while we are sleeping tonight so i'd say around 11pm 12am. Just wait and see i guess. Anything major happens we can postpone.

If we do postpone then the tyres locked in for qualifying tonight will stay the same for next week.

Thanks for the complement OneHandSteer. A lot of effort goes into running the ORS series so i believe the thread should reflect that and the participants deserve a well presented series.

I made it to the first race last night, but sadly mu night was ended short but a hungery screaming baby!

Started at the back of race one, tapped GTP_JTV wide at the essess so waited...was having fun battling at the back but baby was crying so wasnt watching the sceen then noticed GTP_JTV was out of control infront of me and I collected him :( wrote off my car, limped to the pits.
Finished the race but had to bail.
My car was set up totally standard, no tuning and it showed, GTP_JTV would just fly around the outside of me into T1 everytime.
Gutted I missed the other races, hope to be back next week and will make sure the wife is home to babysit!

Great cars tho, loved powersliding it. Very controlable. I have been given a tune by Rod so i look forward to driving it now. Just need to work out the trans. (I may just leave it)

Hi guys,

Some great racing last night – epic crash and re-start in Race Three – I think we should all post our best crash shots of that one.

Also quick note of apology to Lost and Asuka in Race Three – think on Lap 12 or 13. I was having a few picture signal problems. Of course the worst of it happened right after after making a run past Oni for 2nd, then I lost the picture for a split second just before braking for the right-hander after the tunnel, it fickered back on momentarily and then on and off again several times as I was trying to recover, which left me disoriented and accidently in the middle of the track making contact with Asuka and then creating a moving road block for Lost as I tried to figure out where i was. :ouch:

Sincere apologies again guys. I hope I didn’t ruin your races to much. A new HDMI Cable on the shopping list.

Well what an adventurous and good night for me, i only discovered the speed of the high line in the last 8 minutes of qualifying but boy howdy did it work out great in the game, I think my love of speedway helped me push it to the limit and get the most from it. Until I got a drift down track in to the path of oni where he had nowhere to go and drove in to me.

Surprisingly I didn't get any damage from it, managed to push the car to its limit and grabbed JTV's draft which got me the win.

Amazed I got quickest lap in all 3 races, even with the hard compound. I under estimated the speed a draft at this track gives you.

Special note to oni and arie for our race 1 battle, oni we battled in every race and it was enjoyable.

Apologies to JTV for the rub in R3, after i got pushed in to the wall in t1 I got the red mist over my eyes and wanted to get the time back.

When would it be possible to join in guys? I'm a clean driver and just want to take part - this looks brilliant

Im sure if you dont mind the time zone gap - Oni chan could put you as a wild card driver and you could race if we dont get a full field and the other wild cards arent participating. But it all comes down to MrChanaling. If not best bet would be to sign up asap for season 10....

You know what would be better if someone can upload a video of the epic crash of the nations.... weres mick when ya need him :P

Lucky we were all in muslce cars if we were in rice waffers we all woulda been crushed!

I agree mate - I have a try at this but might take me a day or two... definitely worth covering - following that smoke you guys produced at 200km/h and watching the drama unfold was pure cinema. :)

sweet thanks jasr will be watching the thread for the vid like a hawk. so many angles should be a thrill to see how you approach it.

First of I must say what an epic round it was at the High Speed Ring. Close racing and crashes through out each and every race.

Had an epic 1st race with the Spider Men. Thanks for that Mr T and Oni. You guys blitzed the qualifying and was preparing to watch you sail into horizon. But to my surprise the draft was allowing me to keep up.

I was watching you guys and thinking "These guys are brave to be driving so close to the wall".Now I understand why and how you were taking the HIGH line on the banked turns :sly:

It all went wrong when I followed Tait deep coming out of the tunnel. Found out later that he was on the edge so I naturally was on the grass and into the wall but luckily didn't sustain any damage. Battle for second place was a cat/mouse game of who could position their car in the right spot and use the draft. I fractionally mistimed my run so lost out to Oni by a nose. Great stuff!

No problems Jasr about the Race 3 incident. I saw that you were in trouble coming into the esses and saw a gap on the inside. Being the last lap I simply went for it hoping that you would stay left but my gamble didn't pay off. Didn't matter in the end as it wouldn't changed my points.

Love the snap shots from Oni and Jasr. Here is my interpretation of the BIG crash in motion. Enjoy!

Haha that's awesome A, loving the Kenny Loggins tribute. Nice artful panning of the HSR signage, multiple views and shows how well you managed to avoid the carnage and get through unscathed. Topwork!

Epic asuka off the top of my head the first major ors accident, maybe need to review saftey regulations haha, nah great video mate thanks for taking the time and effort to put that together wicked....

No worries Gents. Glad to hear you enjoyed the video clip!

It is really interesting how the over all drivers and team championship points are panning out after the first three rounds.

See you all at the Grand Valley Speedway!

ORS | SEASON 9 | PRE RACE BRIEFING

For round 4 we head over to one of the most favoured PD tracks, Grand Valley Speedway for a 45 lap race.

The standard ORS white line rules apply. If you are found to be cutting corners consistently or frequently then you will be penalised by the stewards. You can use the run offs entering and exiting the final corner. All other run offs and concreted areas cannot be used. Penalties can range from point deductions, 1 race bans and up to disqualifications from the entire ORS season 9. Ensure you have read all the rules in the opening post (page 1).

Regarding the pit entry around Grand Valley Speedway make sure you do not enter at full speed as it will reset you and result in time lost entering the pits. I suggest entering the pits around 120-140kph. When exiting the pits do not cross the pit exit line and keep right. Be mindful of cars approaching.

Tier 2
mrtaital - 35kgs
