Polyphony Digital partnership with Ayrton Senna Institute announced

Now this is what I'm talking about!! From 1:02 on is the best part...but the whole thing is epic IMO.

Is it ever incredible to see an onboard of that classic configuration... Incredibly unsafe, but great to watch and even more so to play, I'm sure. Would love for that to be a part of GT but honestly I can confidently say it would never happen. Sometimes I really wish I had a good PC to play some of these racing sims because they have the best user mods and things you'll never see on consoles. Would be a dream to drive on classic courses like this and Monza, for example.

I've just came back after watching the Ayrton Senna film, and I must say, I'm really amazed at his performance. :) However, the ending made me cried inside though, Senna was awesome who never wanted to give up, just kept moving forward to accomplish what he desired.

I can tell you right now, he's gotten all my respect. But I wish he didn't end up in that awful crash and was still alive, I'm gonna miss him a lot. :(

*Ayrton Senna, forever Boss in my book*

Glad you liked it and that you now know more about him. You can't imagine how sad it was for some of us, that were kids at the time (I was around 11 when he passed away). I can still remember the day clearly in my mind. And the days after, his funeral, etc. I cried a lot... really, for days. That's how it felt being a kid that loved racing and cars when he died.

To be honest I still haven't watched the whole movie. Why? I'm preparing myself for it. I know I'll cry a lot again... so I'm waiting for a moment I feel like. But with all those news, Senna and Gran Turismo, my favorite game ever... it'll be a good time to remember his story again. (not that a fan wouldn't do multiple times a year. You see a bit of an old race, and you smile, etc... )

If you head and your heart are in the right place you shouldn't have anything negative to say about this possible game changing collaboration. They do so much as far as education goes for the community that it makes me proud to be able to contribute in any way. If I do happen to get to enjoy some extra content on my sim racer as a result, then that is I just a perk.

I'm saying dont assume. You labeled someone without actually reading or understanding of the post. So your question was not even needed. Instead of working yourself up over what someone else thinks about game content, you could actually read whats posted? If you don't feel there is enough content, that's fine. But don't impose your line of thought on others by making false claims or trying to label someone because they differ in opinion to you. Especially when you nor I even know what the game offers as is.

Have you forgot the reason this all started which goes beyond my question asking. Go back and look up the post and it will show I wasn't deciding or labeling you but asking if you did such things. You want people to stop speculation but those you've argued have far more experience it would seem with these games and the way PD works due to being old enough to remember such events. I'm not imposing anything, rather debunking based on facts and trends from PD, if you don't like the reality that crumbles the sugar coating that allows you to love the "oh so great PD" too bad. You'll not enjoy some of your experiences here. Trying to run this emotional angle in a debate that detracts from the real subject is grasping at straws though, so if you'd like to get back to the questions I've asked rather than hitting repeat over and over, that would be nice and the easiest way for you to save face.

Right. There's no way we could get zombie Ayrton Senna like we got zombie Jeff Gordon. That would be a totally fitting tribute to the great driver. [/sarcasm]

Watch me get flamed for even mentioning the words "zombie" and "Ayrton Senna" in the same sentence.

It's great that they're collaborating, but I think it's totally reasonable to have doubts when you look at how Jeff Gordon/NASCAR, Sebastian Loeb/WRC and Sebastian Vettel were presented in GT5. If that's the best they've got, I'd rather they leave the memory of Senna alone.

I have nothing negative to say about the collaboration, it's a great feather in Kaz/PD's cap. I might have something negative to say about how it's implemented in GT6. Screwing up Vettel and Jeff Gordon is one thing, most people can laugh that off. Screwing up Senna is a whole different thing on a whole different level.

And if you really want to contribute to the Foundation, buying Senna content isn't the best way to do it, as only a tiny portion of the proceeds will ever find their way to the Institute. No figures are confirmed and probably never will be, but I'd be surprised if it was even as much as 5%, meaning $0.25 out of a $4.99 DLC purchase. Make a direct contribution if you really want to help out, they'll at least get all of the money.

You're still reaching! It's like you want so bad to be right that you drag on a needless conversation. I told you (I) "wait" before jumping the gun on a purchase, on a conclusion of the content, on the warranting a purchase. If anyone is saving face its you and your argumentative assumptions. Your rhetorical question (it was just that no matter how you twist it) was an assumption. You neglected 3 times now to see what I think about content affecting buying the game. I said "wait". You come back when you know what it means to wait for more information before making a judgement whether theres sufficient content to make someone want to buy the game. All the little pretty added words like "oh so great pd" or "emotional angle" you try to emphasize in your argument makes no excuses for ignoring my original statement. Please read before assuming and adding your hilarious spin to a reply.

How was it rhetorical? In the sense that you wouldn't give me a solid honest answer? I mean I have no idea if you are one of the many around here that buys a GT game just because the box says it is Gran Tursimo. So it's not an assumption if I am asking, you've decided on your own that the question shouldn't have been asked due to the manner, and thus conveyed it with a negative tone which is impossible to know since it's the internet. I don't need to save face, I find myself in these types of debates with countless people all the time because I like to debate.

We've waited, and the info we have as of now is nothing, many of us are asking for some gameplay footage that is official since it will be coming out in a little more than a month. If that is too much to ask for then I guess we shouldn't ask and just buy the game when it's released and just accept the vague features that are talked about but never explained. For you to sit here and say others should wait as the clock is winding down quite fast, is a bit ironic since I'm supposedly imposing my word on you and others. I've been reading your trite just fine, you keep saying I never asked a question and judged your character from moment one, as well as saying I and others are impatient about how PD conducts business. You've still neglected why we think this.

You're still coming at an emotional driven angle with the guilt trip and saying I'm just some "mean internet user that doesn't want to read." Once again why is questioning PD and wanting more info bad for a group that they want to buy their game? Especially considering that it is almost November?

I'll cut myself off from information on GT6 within 2/3 weeks before release ( have it on preorder ) Whatever happens to the good ol' PSX days, where loading the games and play them for the 1st time were the awesome unforgettable moments

Debate someone who cares then. You said I was an impulse buyer. Then you say I'm a GT loyalist who buys it just because the title. Don't pretend to know me. Don't place your labels on me. You keep denying you put me in a category of one of those, but thats exactly what you did and continue to do even though I explained it off the bat.

I haven't neglected anything. I said I wait. If you don't have enough information to buy the game don't buy it. I'm not you. You argue your point to me for no reason. I don't follow your line of thought. So your desires and needs are not mine. So like I said before, I wait. With GT5, I didn't buy the game until the new year, 2 months after release. I never said others have to wait, I said that's what I do. Please, get it right.

Sorry but you continue to reach. It seems you're needy and have to know everything, so maybe your impatience makes you reply with false claims and assumptions. I didn't give a guilt trip. I said clearly, you labelled and assumed, just like you continue to do by saying things you think I feel about you. I don't even know you! LOL, get a clue, man.

If you don't want to debate then don't complain about people that speculate and then rebuke when you challenge them. I didn't say that I asked but if you want to ignore, I could shown you again what I said? I'm not pretending to know you, hence why I asked questions from the drop, though you're not doing any favors by getting what would seem to be emotional.

You said you wait, yes. You also said we too should wait and then were questioned by me and another user as to why we don't have the right to ask for something when the game is going to be released in about a month (projected). I argue because it is a forum, this isn't a chat room or twitter and you just drive by inject commentary and not expect someone to reply if you don't like me replying you can put me on ignore and I'd be more than happy to show you.

You were telling us about how you wait and it's great to wait on things, as a rebuttal to someone who supposedly can't wait, and telling us to wait and see. You then asked us how we know such things when it was told to us that this feature would be an update in the readings. However, even without those it is well known that late features revealed soon before the game are given such treatment since GT5

Sorry but you continue to reach. It seems you're needy and have to know everything, so maybe your impatience makes you reply with false claims and assumptions. I didn't give a guilt trip. How am I needy? Let me ask you this, would you go and watch a movie without previews or buy a car that you only saw say the fog lamps and wheel of? If that is a no, then why would I want to buy a game or have to wait to buy one down the road? What false claims again? What assumptions? I've asked questions and given you room to clarify to me, rather than doing so you get defensive.

Anyways if you'd like to have me on ignore just private message me and I'll tell you how.

LMS and Seth, do the right thing; take it to PM's. This has long since stopped being about the topic at hand.

It would be incredibly poor taste to make a zombie Senna, I doubt they will. Maybe videos and pictures of Ayrton, but not an animated character.

BTW, your characterization of living racers in GT5 as zombies is both funny and spot on.

Glad that you like it. In another thread, I've mentioned this doc to you because It is amazing. Senna was a some kind of force of mother nature when he got in a car.

Senna was my childhood hero. I became a diehard motorsport fan and petrolhead because of him. Which led me to GT series and other sims.

Your country was very lucky to have a great racer like Senna, and I highly respect that very much. Cheers. :)

They could include a model of Senna, but if they can't get his face right they could get him to leave his helmet on (he'd be easy to identify just from his eyes). And for a voice they could just use quotes from the man himself, such as this

''By being a racing driver you are under risk all the time. By being a racing driver means you are racing with other people. And if you no longer go for a gap that exists, you are no longer a racing driver because we are competing, we are competing to win. And the main motivation to all of us is to compete for victory, it's not to come 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th.''
