Why is it that when white police officers are rough in the arrest of a black man it's always racist? Those same white police officers were probably rough arresting some whtie trash dude - but that video doesn't get shot, or doesn't make the news.

I'd say it simply didn't make the news. And I don't think it was racist. I just think that they were needlessly cruel AFTER the cuffs were on him.

I think swift has something of a point there. 👍

Now, don't get me wrong, racism exist and comes into play quite often when police are involved.

However, I feel that more often than not, the brutality we all see coming from police is not about the race of an individual but instead, just about the police being power-hungry jerks with psychological issues going beyond racism.

Frankly, I think police are far too often brutal and violent beyond what is necessary.

... One last thing...
Young Warrior,
If you think my post had anything to do with the idea of where racism occurs then I need not say anymore about your replies... You do all my work for me when you miss the greater points of replies such as my own.

Did it ever occur to you that I was not talking about where racism occurs?
I was actually talking about the condition of politics and racism in America and how the partisan lines you drew up had no validity.

Republicans and Democrates both have racist people in their parties (of all races)... Try not to act like it's just the white republicans.

Btw, you still didn't address my questions.
When was the last time you came down here to new orleans and discovered the wonders of racism?

Personally, I have a feeling you don't know the first thing about racism in the state of Louisiana.
If you did, you certainly wouldn't have been talking about racism down here in the same reply with commentary on racist republicans...

This state is one of the biggest "Dem" states in the country and it's full of both white and black racist!

That sort of situtation doesn't sit well with me when I see you acting like republicans are to blame for the racism.

I mean really... Do you think the good old boy union workers are racist? Hell yeah they are!
And what party do you think those union boys vote for?

To be honest I didnt even think about the fact wheter he was democratic or republican it completely passed my mind hence why I dindt understand your post at all.

As for the police yeah they are little powertrippers.

So because I show one video of a old black dude getting his head bashed in you automatically jump at me. I never once said that its only white peole being racist I just merly posted a video of a possibly racist man who works for the government after numerous people were denying racist ongoings.

That's the kind of person who is going to want to be a police officer more often than not. Sure some police officers are going to be model citizens, but a fair number of them are looking for a way to exert power over others... they do get power trippy, and I imagine that some reprocussions are in order for those officers. But the case for racism doesn't have enough evidence as far as I can tell.

I remember seeing a video of a white kid getting pulled off of a city bus and beaten by a black gang here in LA. It was news because the bus driver left him there. I remember thinking - if that were a white gang attacking a black kid it would be racist. But the black gang attacking the white kid is just a mugging.

...ie you were accusing them of being racist.

Young_Warrior
I called it how I see it. Another forum said it was racist too.

... but you can't back it up. I'd recommend not calling it until you have a better case. Now maybe it was racist, but your standard of proof is quite low.

YW, I would suggest contemplating this. It seems you've been having an even rougher time in this forum then me in the Abortion/Creation threads. :sly:

Young_Warrior
I dont contest at all that its low. The reason why I posted it is for us to discuss and not me outrightly claiming that its racist.

Cool, so what are your thoughts on it?

Young_Warrior
I was hoping that some thoughts of my own would rub off from you guys :embarrassed:

What thoughts? in you post you simpy put up what the article said. So what do you think of the situation? And give a complete thought this time.

Young_Warrior
OK I shall give it some time to think about. My reply will most likely be a couple of hours from now however.

First off, I find it hard to believe that you didn't think about "him" being republican or democrate because of this...

Abort all black babies and cut crime, says Republican

Also, I didn't jump on you because of racism or calling the cops in question racist.
I jumped on you because I don't like seeing people exploit the victims of racism to further their own socio-political objectives.

You were picking up the cause of a man from my state who was treated wrongly... However, you were more concerned with painting republicans, white people, police officers, and any others I'm not mentioning, as racist for your own reasons.

If this was really about the victim of those racist acts you would stick to that topic.
Instead you cite out of context statments to inflame and insult people who don't hold the exact same political views that you do.

The bottom line:
I didn't like reading your attempt to comment on the state of racism in Louisiana or The United States Of America.

You know I dont like racists, but what Swift said is quite correct to what I've noticed here.

We dont have many afro-dutch people here lol;) But anyway, the most people from other countries here believe in the islam. Now they say Holland is too racist because of the terrorist attacks and they say they're not all like that.

Fact is dutch people cant judge them, but one experience is that some of those islam people believe in the islam...too much I would say. You cant judge if someone is that way so we're not racist really. It might be annoying for those people but well....it's difficult to take away the suspicion thats present here, and we're arent THAT suspicious or something....

Anyway, I do believe that some people here hide behind the racists. Like if a foreign 20 year old guy gets a speeding ticket he thinks the police is racist, thats just plain stupid. If you wanna be treated as any other dutch guy you gotta face you CANT SPEED.

This is a random example, and I said "islam people" cause I dont know any other word in english for it.

I'd like to quote Terry Pratchett, if I may:

Terry Pratchett
Just because someone is a member of an ethnic minority doesn't mean they can't be a nasty, small-minded jerk.

A *#%@ is a *#%@, no matter what they look like.

And once you pull away the skin from someone, you'll see that everyone pretty much looks the same. But they might howl in different tones.

Well... that was certainly unnecessarily violent.

This is highly funny and yet slightly disturbing at the same time.

Firstly about the man getting kicked in: Theres no way you could say if that was racist or not unless someone else was there to say that the man made racist comments. For all we know the policeman could have just lost his cool. However I dont know how a police man can bash a old man like that and I think that the police officer should be severely punished and compensation given to the old man.

As for the rebuplican.....If it was racist he would probably not be a politician anymore but for a man in his position he shoulkd have known better than to say anything like that. It is offensive to the black community but it doesnt neccesarily mean that hes racist.

Conclusion on him being racist is: Undecisive.
