SFGTP3 - "The Threesome" - Yeah, Baby!

All was well, guys! Going to these LANs is the fastest way to improve your skills

Smallhorses: Good hospitality as usual, thanks for doing this again :dopey:

SimRaceDriver: Too bad I had to leave before the end of the first night, but I hope you enjoyed my prize! (McLaren F1 . . . Darda car) :D

"wannabe": always good to have you around, too bad you and your dirty, dirty jokes were only there Saturday. :D

alrivers: good racing as usual, it was great when I lost to you by .024 seconds!:banghead:

jump_ace: next time you come around, you'll have to race with the small TV and broken DS2 so we have a chance! ;)👍

Kylehnnhnhhhnnhhnhnhat: good stuff, here's one of many bad things I said about you

Me: Good racing to whoever was in the gold Nissan.
EDK: That was Kyle.
Me: Oh, never mind then.

CAMikaze: enjoyed a lot of the Clio enduro, though you were slowly pulling away the last 49 laps or so... ;) Nice to meet you though...

EDK: Good to meet you, lots of great racing (Jaguar at Opera ) and hope to see you at the fourth iteration of this gathering of greats. :D

Strop: Good seeing you again, if you're at the next one you can give me your camera :P (post the pics of my "drink" :D)

Thanks ceiling_fan.:D:tup: Kudos to Mr. and Mrs. Smallhorses for their hospitality as well. And sincere apologies if I was being a little to loud at times during the weekend.:embarrassed:

And for those of you who were unable to attend this weekend, here is a sample of what went on. ;)

This was taken from the Qualifying session that went on before the competition began on Saturday.

:bowdown:Please don't ban me for my off topic Nick

But just a quick post to let you know that I made it back with another 30 min delay return trip. Had an incredible flight back home but that's all I can say :)

Jerome

Sorry, I missed it guys. It turns out I was pretty busy. :guilty: Hope you guys had fun.

Hay, no earthquake this time... ? xD

Just wanted to take this opportunity to give a big 'Thank You' to SmallHorses for opening up his garage once again for yet another kick-ass SFGTP race weekend!

It was nice to finally get a chance to meet you Jump_Ace...My God man you're quick as hell with a Dual Shock!

It was also nice to see familiar faces once again....(Ceiling_Fan, JuanaB, AlRivers and of course ItGirlXX)..as well as a few new ones. (Strop, EDK, Camikaze, KyleHat)

Looking forward to the next SFGTP event..which rumor has is going to be sometime in August...???

Cheers,

SimRaceDriver

Someone joined the mile high club...

lol not that. We made it back in just over an hour :) The pilot joked that he could get in trouble and said it was our little secret, because the flight was delayed 30 min.

I'm glad your flight was delayed, also :P. Alaska is now on Kyle's Airline 🤬-List (which is becoming crowded). My flight home was delayed 2 hours for unspecified reasons, and at no point did they even apologize.

However, it was a fantastic weekend, and a well-executed event yet again . Big thanks to the Smallhorseses for the shelter, food, and liquid sustenance! Your hospitality is second-to-none! If the event were at my place, I'd charge for drinks and tell everyone to bugger off at the end of the night . I realize in my haste, I didn't really say goodbye to everyone, so...goodbye! :P. It was fun to race against all of you, and trade paint in just a few corners :D. Alrivers and I need to stay away from each other on the track next time. It was like a magnet, I swear! :)

Guess you'll be driving next time then.

Yes, such a great event you both are the best hosts and words can't describe my appreciation and respect to you guys. Sure there were some bumps along the way but we all were on the same page and we just decided to take some drink breaks for about 3 min cause the garage got 'stuffy'. No biggie, couldn't have gone any better.

I'll respond more once the results are up 👍...speaking of, are they done yet Nick, I thought I sawr the thread somewhere

Forgot to thank CAMIkaze for capturing a side of me that hides my 'beer belly'...:D

And the grazy Dutch-Shtyle Rayshing quote! :D

Looks like you guys had fun. :)

Well, that was fun & exhausting (:P) at the same time!
Been up since 4:30am to ensure someone got back to PA.
Had a long day at work too, and will be in dire need of sleep shortly.
Suffice to say I'll be back tomorrow to put up my comments when I'm not so brain-fogged! :indiff:
The results will be waiting a good while though, we've got our cozy weekend away on Big Sur coming up and we're hosting Rachel's folks for a couple of weeks after that so we'll be busy for a while.

I'll say a brief thanks now, to everyone for turning up and making the third SFGTP such a great event!

I just want to add a quick thanks to Nick and Rachel for being such great hosts.

And to all of the attendees for keeping things fun and helping the weekend to fly by!

I'll take a little time to write more later, just wanted to get that out there. :dopey:

Ok, I seem to have acquired a few things from the weekend that're looking to be returned to their rightful owners:

Someone is missing a 3-way mains power adaptor and orange extension lead with black ends. (I'm pretty sure it's Alex's but I want to make sure.)

Secondly I've got an extra memory card hanging around. Let me know if you're missing one, and specifically what colour it is ;), and I'll be happy to mail it back to you. (Or drop it off if you're close by!)

Anyway.... On to the thank yous (In no particular order)!

juana b. Thanks as ever for some great races, your infectious sense of humour and enthusiasm for breaking the "first beer of the day" record which is now logged at 9:05am! I gotta make arrangements with you to drop off your PS2/DFP at some point so give me a shout when it's convenient, although I'm away this coming weekend.

ceiling_fan My partner in crime in the Clio Endurance, and returning winner of MCFPCOTW award. Many apologies for my error in plugging my DFP back into USB port 2 during one of our pitstops, a mistake which eventually cost us 2nd place! :guilty: Again supplied an almost flawless running commentary of the day with much laughter throughout! Your driving is improving with every event you attend, and the WRS will certainly keep you occupied now that you're running in that too! :mischievous:

SimRaceDriver Great to see you again, and had an epic finale to the 70s handicap at Nurburgring with you! Hopefully you'll still be up for the fourth installment of SFGTP, and will be able to make both days! (Don't forget your toothbrush!!!)

CAMikaze Hope you enjoyed your first LAN event and meeting some of the SFGTP crew out here! 👍 A good clean racer (if a little noisy at times!), all of us enjoyed some battles with you at some point throughout the weekend and I hope you've learned enough that you'll be able to organise a LAN event of your own in future. Will e-mail my testing data to you when I've had chance to compile it all in one place. :)

jump_ace Epically fast as ever and unnerving as hell when he sits just inches off your rear bumper just waiting to pounce! Fantastic races with you in a few places, and once again earned your title of overall driver of the weekend! A pleasure to host you here again, and hope all goes well for you in July & August.

Kylehnat Also a pleasure to host you again, a great racer (when kept out of Alex's way! :P) and did some cripplingly amusing impersonations throughout the weekend! (Neil from Family Guy ;))

EDK Great to meet you at last, and hope you've enjoyed the event enough to want to return again. Another racer with whom I shared some battles tighter than a stripper's G-String! :embarrassed: Thanks also for bringing a variety pack of beer, and allowing us all to ride in the G25 cockpit! (Also very good natured when we all accidentally "forgot" him at lunchtime on Saturday when he went to grab a coffee! :guilty:)

Strop Another welcome returnee, especially when armed with Vegemite and chocolates for the hosts, and once again holder of the Bay Area's Most Enormous Camera Award! Did his Aussie heritage proud by keeping a pack of Tom's Chasers at bay in his FPV GT at Tsukuba! :D

alrivers Another racer back for a hat-trick of SFGTPs and always a welcome contestant. We didn't have as much joy getting the webcam set up this time, but we'd gathered to have fun racing, not solving IT issues, so it'd didn't get too much attention! Creator of the trickiest qualifying combo, in a BMW M5 unsurprisingly, to match his BMW service shirt and newly acquired original 6-series!

Finally.... Once again a massive thank you, and lots of hugs for my wonderful Missus itgirlxx, who lets me fill our house with 10 loud and enthusiastic gamers and endures my passion for GT4 and LAN preparation with an exceedingly good grace. Now looking forward to a good long weekend away in Big Sur with her, away from TVs, PCs, PS2, just a radio, some good books, good wine & Whisky and fresh air!

Yeah, I was amazingly consistent this time around, which meant instead of getting sixth with a minute, I was sixth with only a few seconds behind!! :P

I wouldn't say we lost because of the DFP mistake. We lost maybe 20 seconds from that, whereas jump_ace was routinely gaining 30 seconds every lap on us anyway!!

Not just that, it was on N tires. :scared: (N3, I think) at Costa d'Awallridefi! :dopey:

Dang!! In the words of the infamous Maxwell Smart ... Sorry about that. I'm pretty hopeless with names and am actually proud I remembered any of them :)
