Engine swaps exist in Japan too.
No 3000hp Civic has ever passed a shaken. So they are illegal.
Swap in an engine below 250cc, and you wont have any issues. Except for driving up hills.

No, a modder should be able to do anything. Add Mario Kart bananas for all I care. However there needs to be something in the game to allow non modders and modders to separate themselves if they wish to be separated (or if the mods reach some extents that they can't interact). So we should only be allowed to do modifications that the game's creators "think" are realistic?
That is quite honestly no worse than realistic swapping. Modding is modding, and being realistic does not make anyone more or less noble. The real issue is when people jack up the horsepower to unrealistic levels.
Banning is unnecessary, I agree, but there aren't enough room control options. There never have been. This is something PD needs to fix.So perhaps instead of trying to get hackers banned, people should just sick PP or horsepower limits on their rooms if they want to control hacking.
But does it calculate that a v8 in the front of a civic weighs more than a 2.0 and therefore would screw up the handling completely by making it nose heavy and effecting the distribution of the weight ?
If not then clearly the notion of it being in anyway fair or close to real life is moot

Considering there were 5.8l versions, it does sound a bit strange. Should have cycled the UCD a few more times.

There is no such thing as winning a thread.
There is one pesky little fact though that I'm sure is eating at you, what has pd done other then have supplied cars in the tt's for a few weeks?
Been running a lot in 550pp lately, and now im suspected of cheating because of my laptimes, thx to the hybrids
Old GT games could be hybrided as well. Many GTP people did it. There are hybriding threads for old gt games.
As for the ridiculous notion that if we don't like it, we shouldn't go online, what that means to me is that legitimate users of the game should limit themselves from using certain features of the game because others are exploiting some loophole. In a nutshell, we are expected to punish ourselves because others are breaching Sony's terms of use!
If you're going to whinge and whine about how Hybrids have ruined your game as opposed to living with it, setting restrictions and using the Kick Function, then yes. If we learn to live with it, as opposed to shunning them, fearing them, and despising them, the outbreak will ease. If we integrate them, allow them when sensible, and where sensible, people will stop circumventing restrictions and bring million hp cars when they arent wanted. They'll accept restrictions and start playing by the rules. Same as the X2010's. Not as common in unrestricted rooms, are there? We've learnt to live with them by setting restrictions and such, now they arent used as often, even in unrestricted lobbies. Learn to live with it until PD Fixes it, or dont put yourself in a position where it will affect you until PD fixes it. Simple as that.
And you can't use HP and weight because that guy who looks like he's a street Supra, he's actually in a GT500 car and you don't know it.
Does anyone remember the toe bugged wrx in gt5p?
