Impossible. Almost.

eBay, if you're very, very, very lucky.

Hmmm....Don't you need some kind of cable for it aswell? And where abouts does it go on the fat PS2s? I don't actually have a eBay account, but Mum does so I could get her to bid for it, and at £1 each....

It slots right into the back of the PS2. The only cable you need is an Cat5 between it and the router.

And you have tonnes of them, don't you?

Because if I can get my hand on those two, then I could bring them along. I could bring my phatee, though it isn't in 100% nick, it does work and it works fine on GT4, struggles with SA though, due to the maps. But if it means we can have 2 more PS2s, I'd happily buy those two.

I'm a little confused as to how we can have 8 GT4s, 7 wheels, 10 TVs but only SIX PS2s. What is everyone playing it on?
if you need another ps2 let me know i can borrow my friends slim ps2 and give it to daan to borrow(my fat one died and my friend has a ps3 now so doesnt use it anymore).

I have a fat PS2 with a network adapter lying around. If someone wants to pay shipping from Connecticut, I'd send it over. Or just the network thingy. Whatever. I should have the disk around somewhere too. Send me a pm.

We are aiming to get as much as possible, another networkable PS2 would be great. I am in the process of an eBay auction for a wireless adaptor. I'll know by this afternoon the result of it.

Vonie, that's a very kind offer, but shipping from Connecticut isn't going to be cheap, is it?

Okay, one of them went higher than I was prepared to go, >£15. In on another though.

You're not supposed to use the catflap.

Btw, 2 routers have gone over what I was prepared to pay, got another one which finishes tomorrow night.

Hmm...true.

I didn't think it'd be that much.

It's a kind offer, but (and it's a big but, like the one on a hippo)...

It'd be a US/NTSC-UC console, I assume - and you can't network different versions. If you send just the Network Adapter, it would come with a US/NTSC-UC installation disc, which won't work on a non-NTSC-UC console. And that pretty much screws the whole plan.

But thanks anyway. It really is a very kind offer :D

Holden - If you can get hold of that PSTwo, that'd be great. If you can attend too, that'd be greater.

Ooh, question...

With the network adapter, does it need it's own installation disc, or will any PAL installation disc work?

No, there isn't any installation necessary. Just screw the network adapter to the back of your PS2.

You can have my network adapter. I have a phat, old skool PS2 that DRE's once in a while, making it unsuitable for LAN use.

Since David/VEXD and Mike/Ren-Tec are still in Holland and I'm seeing them tomorrow night, I can give the network adapter to one of them so they can bring it to the UK. If then one of you can fetch it from their place or pays the shipping costs, you'll have another PS2 ready to use at the LAN. I don't need anything for it, you can have it for free.

Just let me know within a day 👍

That'd be great, Hugo. I'll be seeing David this week(ish) anyway, so if you CAN send it along, please, please do.

Also, if anyone has any knackered DS2s, I'd quite like them...

So, with that adaptor, plus the PS2 from holden and hopefully my PS2 will have an adaptor, that'd be 9 PS2s?

Thanks Hugo.

Sounds like a plan to me. One more would be ideal from my point of view.

What happens with the 6th cars in a 2x 5 lan scenario? A non-mobile chicane?

There's no need to even have them. I'll set the machines up to run two 5-LANs. Ought to clip the barely noticeable lag down even further too.

👍 Didn't realise you could do that. Can you have the 6th car as an A.I. car? Actually forget that, think of the shame of being beaten by the computer :ouch:

Heh, sadly not.

Anyway, yes. The host can be set to as many, or as few, drivers as you wish. Except one. Or anything over 6.

Don't you just hate him! Faster than anyone AND helpful AND a really nice bloke. Gah! :dopey:

Seriously though, thanks for that, Hugo 👍

accutually wouldnt that not work? when my fat ps2 stopped working i took it off and put it on my little brothers fat ps2 but because it was already registered to my ps2 it wouldnt work,or is that not an issue for LAN's?

would like to but sadly im helping out with the UK Time Attack championship the weekend before at knockhill and on the friday night before i have a gig the night before.

I bought Mark T's adapter, screwed it onto the back of my PS2, used the setup disc as a bird scarer (maybe a drinks coaster, I'm not sure) plugged into the LAN at GTP8 and everything just worked.

In this case it's only little effort to help others with something I'd probably never use again, but still thanks for the kind words, David :)

Another Adaptor went out of my hands! We need more GT4s too.

Famine, I take it my memory cards have arrived?

A card arrived, saying I have to go pick up a parcel because the sender didn't pay sufficient postage. I can neither confirm nor deny the contents nor origin of this parcel until I go collect it...

However, Roo's has arrived. So I currently have my 3 plus Roo's, daan's and 2 from Venari, for seven in total. Yours would make nine.
