Sadly, I am now officially unable to attend. As well as my imminent uncle-hood, my cousin is coming to Edinburgh for a family get-together that weekend, for the first time in a very long time... it is also the first time my cousin will have been back to Scotland since a major operation, hence I will be staying in Scotland to see him and his family... sorry I am going to miss another UKGTP, and thanks again, daan, for the kind offer of a lift. 👍

A shame, I've updated the opening post. I see 9 confirmed racers. I thought it was 11...I must be missing someone...

No again. I could make it logistically (for a change), but it's in the middle of my exams. Well, the middle of the end anyway.

Sorry you can't make it to this one, but the offer of a lift remains open for the next ones too.

Falls right in the middle of exams for me too. I however have commited to come, so sod my AS Levels the nono takes priority :D

I have no chance of turning up at all guys, I'm sorry. Kent and The Nono are too far apart....

Pah! Pah, I say!

Kent and the previous 8 weren't too far apart. In fact daan and the previous 8 weren't too far apart, and daan went from Scotland to Kent and back to Wycombe for the first 3.

And AMG., dustdriver, sjaak, Jan and Ruud drove through Kent after having arrived from Europe (Holland and Belgium) on their way to 8 UKGTPs between them.

And -Diego- flew from Spain.

And Smallhorses went from San Francisco.

Well that destroys my excuse for keeping quiet for so long!

My status has not changed, but I should know better after the weekend whether or not I wish to book a room at the inn.

If I do make it, my equiptment list will be as it was for the ocho - sod all other than a well worn DS2 and copy of GT4. My 1000mhz powered PCTV and beginning-to-DRE fattie PS2 would be more trouble than they are worth.

I can however supply the odd prize and a days worth of themed events - details on their way to Famine.

It's only 272 miles between here and Newark. Piece of cake. Consider that I just did 1495* miles of driving to get to Holland, and back, for a LAN...

* OK, so Famine did ~250 of that...

9-9.30 arrival for a 10-10.30 start works for me. If it's a twin 5-LAN it'll take very little time to set up.

Maybe next time.

It would appear that The Rutland is almost fully booked - is anyone else still looking for a room? - They still have a 'family room' available.

I have yet to book a room, and judging by a PM I recieved Stevisiov may also have yet to book. I have no problems sharing, and don't mind roughing it on a sofa with a sleeping bag if they are all gone. However, wasn't there some condition that we only got the venue for £100 if we filled ten beds?

If you and Stevisov want to share the family room with me then i'll book it. (bagsie the single bed. The other bed is a double)

Did you get the mass-PM from Famine?

I thought Famine was gonna grab the family room for him, Milford Cubicle and daan?

I can't get used to using people's usernames!

I bagsied the twin room. daan and I are going to stock it completely with Guinness in lament of the only part of the British Isles that isn't represented by part of our heritage.

Famine took the unmentioned in the PM double so we're sorted but he forgot to tell me that bit before he sent the PM ;)

Car-less - the whole £100/10 rooms thing has gone out of the window.

It's only going to be about £2.50 more each though.

So who needs accommodation then? venari, daan, me, roo, Famine and MC all are booked at the Rutland?

I can recommend the Georgian Townhouse, it's a bit upmarket, but it is bloody good, top class breakfast and beds are softer than the puppy from those bog roll commercials.

Wow, they must've upgraded the mattresses then! :scared:
The couple of times that I've stayed there, the mattress was so soft that I fell right through it and slept on the hard box-spring underneath all night!
'Twas like being surrounded by mattress whilst not actually being supported by one!
