week 1 driving skill competition - f40 @ suzuka

Controller: Logitech G25

There's more time to be found (just look at the hairpin :lol:) but this was the best I could manage today. Maybe I'll try again during the week.


(video will be up in about 15 minutes)

Arcade mode, car from arcade only garage, grip real.
Logitech G25 wheel, clutch and shifter.
No aids, no abs (brake balance 4/0 set from RA menu).

I like how you used real settings while driving the F40. 👍 In my league F40 comes with no asm no tcs no abs and a brake balance of 3/0. Those are the stock settings.

Great time, I think you're winning atm. Managed 2:15 ish with auto earlier within a few laps will try manual tomorow and send in my proper time.

Thanks 👍 but OK8's time is the fastest for now. Not much improvement i can do to my time, there might be just a tiny bit more to squeeze out though.

Can't wait to see what times others will come up with :)
 
How on Earth are you guys going so fast? I can't get below 2:14.. You are using Sports softs right? I'm not doubting you guys, but I can't get it to go any faster, the tires are literally smoking at almost every corner.. I feel slow :P Gotta love the F40 though.

Yes I guess 3/0 is better than 4/0, the fronts locked quite a few times on my run.

Honestly looking at all these times in here are pretty impressive but, you take the icing off the cake. I know how intense abs off is, it's like playing a whole new GT5 and for you to get that time you are blazing fast. I can get is a 2:16.441. Everything off including abs with a brake balance 3/0. The F40 doesn't have ABS so it would be cool if it to be off. Like I said OK8 great time. 👍

I'm happy with this for now, I'm too tired for any more attempts tonight. After getting frustrated with the abundance of wheelspin I decided to try and destroy my F40. Only a few dents. Just something interesting/weird/stupid I noticed, when you put your F40 in reverse and flash your high-beams the backup lights flash too.

Done in 6 laps and 40 minutes (and around 8-10 failures, mostly outbreaking myself around Spoon)

Replay and ghost saved. Can upload if needed. My lap felt a bit scruffy, should be able to run a flat 2:11 with a bit more effort. Repect to OK8 for not using ABS, I might give that a try later.

gjeff12, were you a wheel or DS3 driver?

EDIT: Just updated the time sheet with most recent times, but cant add gjeff until i know if wheel or DS3 :)

I improved my time to 2:11.538. The real pain for me is, that I typically improve on this new time by 3-4 tenths in the first 2/3rds of the lap, and then I am losing it all on the last 3 corners (Spoon, 130R and the final chicane) and keep ending up with a whole bunch of 2:11.5xx's and .6xx's. I just can't keep those 4 tenths I keep finding, it will have me down to the flat 2:11 I predicted.

One lap only today when the SEN was down. (Couldn't post earlier as I was busy.) I was happy with the car selection, worried about the track selection. I am not sure how many laps I will get done, but at least I have one under the belt.

Good times guys, I'm the opposite of you hamilton... I can keep up with my first sector, then pull ahead until the fast left and chicane, then i end up losing the time i gained...

Posting them on here is cool. I update times relatively regularly and have a sub to this thread so i get email updates when people submit times anyways :)

Unlucky I know how you feel, I was a second up on my best and went off on the corner before the 2nd long straight.
 
If I were the OP I would update my first post with a ranking so far. Would be more fun for the casual people to read and may appeal more people to it too.
