1:45 is coming soon :)

Next The idea or love affair with the "GERMAN CRASH COURSE" and this Cote DeJour courses??? what gives? I HATE both of these pieces of DUNG!!!! Now in all honesty I probably have not taken the time to actually really learn the "ring" but even still its so tight and the road itself is just crap period! If they widend that road and took the time to really pave it right it would be GREAT! but the condition of it in this game means that track is garbage.

I personally love the ring. The fact that it is paved like a real road adds to the sense of achievement when you set a full clean and quick lap. I understand why some people wouldn't like it though, it can be utterly frustrating if you can't get the track right or the car isn't working or what-have-you as it takes an age before you get another shot at that section again. But equally, that is another reason I like it. The length is a massive challenge.

It's horses for courses, but I like it.

I am inclined to agree with you on the Monaco point though, I dislike it in a race environment as the track is just too damn tight to do anything. Whilst, as my point above makes, it increases the challenge which can make it fun, to me I never really felt it. That said, in a time trial situation I like it, it's good fun because it is SO narrow in places you need to get the exit/entry just right. again on the sense of achievement thing

EDIT: Updating times now, and changed from AC cobra to Shelby, my bad :)

My time is not final. I have a lot left in it lol

What the heck:

GTP:Adeadsnipermatt
PSN: MontalvoMC
Time: 1:43.190
Transmission: Manual
Controller: G27
ABS: 1
Brake Balance: 5/4

This may seem trivial, however Brake Balance adjustment is only permitted if you drive with ABS turned off. As such that time is null and void. You will have to re-run with ABS off or default BB. Sorry, but rules is rules!

Damn, you are ahead of me! Gonna put some more laps in tonight although I am very busy this week :(

Misunderstood
Like most of us i have a job, i can't dedicate myself 100% on GT. Don't worry the replay will come but i want first to get some serious number of laps down in order to produce a really good laptime.:)

Good luck 👍 can't wait to see a replay and see where to gain time!

I 100% sure misunderstood's time is somehow illegal. As you can see here on TT's, I'm curently 58. and +2.200 behind the 1st. Dont tell me you are 3.500secs faster then me, prove it or your lap is invalid.

I reckon a 1:41 is possible, but it would literally be a flawless run, and could only be done on a wheel.

I gave a quick blast at this and soon got into the mid 1:43's. I can easily see how to get into the 1:42's, but no more. Generally I don't put a lot of effort into the TT seasonal, i usualy do a handful of laps to get the million and put myself at the top of my friends list. I generally come 100-500 depending on effort. I have been in the top 100 a few times, and with a DS3. I'm usually a second or two off the pace, sometimes three, but that includes people having their own tunes, which is something I don't do, I don't tweak my car.

As I said, I can see it being possible, but it would be as if a robot was driving in my opinion. Everyone's driving the same vehicle however (no tuning) and apparently way off the pace, which is why it looks suspicious.

Nice one! I am hoping to get into 1:44.xxx, I'd be happy with that, good luck everybody else 👍

Is anyone driving the old school method of slight drift into the faster corners, not that there are many, to point the car for the exit? Probably not necessary with the SS tyres?

I do tend to let it drift in 4th gear through the tunnel, but thats about it perhaps in the second to last corner to get it turning quicker 👍

You can go faster by lifting off the gas there and not sliding.

You are right, 1:42 would be possible, by some "alien" driver". 1:41, no. Not with stock cobra. Only way to get that time is to drive chicane with left wheels barely touching the red and white thing (not sure how its called) and some bumps of the barrier which dont make the lap red all the time. Dont blame me for saying all this, but I'm just being reasonable. And btw. great time hamilton.

@ivann: they are called rumble strips or line indicators. They run the double duty of protecting the track from damage and showing where (generally) you should place your vehicle.

And any tap/bump again a wall, no matter how gentile, should disqualify your lap even if your time doesn't go red.

Just because your time is white doesn't mean its a valid lap. I often think I have improved my time only to find out I touched a wall or cut a corner too close. I won't know it till I watch/race my ghost.

@no1pal:I'm bah! Once again I'm only 0.002 ahead of you. Surely you have 0.003 left in you. (Neener Neener nearer, you can't catch me.)

Typically I was holding 3rd right to the turn in, lift a tiny bit, then grab 4th... maybe I was losing some time just by doing this

no1pal
Again I am :P
But you have the habit to beat me in the end :nervous:

That´s what I do, lift a little on the trottle to avoid sliding.

Haha I didn't do any more laps today I was doing more licenses, only have 9 left to gold! Well try some of the tips being given, hopefully I can get into the 44's this week. Anyway good luck (you'll need it :sly:) 👍

Those 0.002 are a bit annoying :ill:

@ LMP787B Thank´s. I guess I need it.
Love this competition. At first I was sceptical with the Cobra, but it´s good fun :)

Misunderstood said he's going to get 40's!!! (post #84)

I'm doing something very wrong...and so is everyone else!:sly:

Too embarrassed to share my time, aha.

But seriously, how do you guys do it? I can't even break into the 49's with this car.

Am I missing something?

Practice and practice! Try to accelerate smoothly on the way out of the corners, take nice lines and try to keep the lap clean and smooth, anybody with queries feel free to PM me :)

Dont worry I couldn't break 1:50 for around 5 laps, once you know the track you will find it easier to improve. Good luck :D

Driving a car like this is like breaking a girl's virginity. You can't just whack it in and pound away, you'll tear the walls to shreads. You gotta ease it in gently and caress the delicate beauty, be gentle with her.

I am of course, on about whacking the car into a corner, pounding away at the pedals and steering wheel, and tearing the armco barriers to shreads. Why, what did you think I was going on about? You sick perverts :sly:

You gotta ease those pedals down and caress that steering wheel, or she'll bite you back where it hurts.

Haha great metaphor! Will capture people's imaginations for sure!

Best analogy I've seen in months. I'm gonna be chuckling over that one for days. (Is that why Cobras best color is red? Too far?)
