Mini Race Report

Started quite well, got in a big battle with Falcon, Nycrom, Josh and Schumi. I tried to stay at the back and wait for them to hit each other lol. everyone seemed to be very fair, then i saw schumi dissapear in to the pits....

Not sure what lap but maybe 3 coming up to the last chicane area (i forgot where i was) and SMASH i hit nycrom, it looked and felt like a big 1, but only had light damage.

However i think it helped nycrom and he raced off and had a fight with falcon. Which left me and josh to try and slipstream our way but we fell back around a second a lap :nervous: .

Lap 5 i thought **** it il try somthing different and go for a 2 stop. i came out behind schumi but too far to get the slipstream. from then on i just put go laps in (in the dark), i started to catch schumi. The leaders went into the pits and came out only less than 10 seconds behind me.

Schumi dived into the pits around lap 10, then suddenly there was only josh behind, falcon and nycrom must of been in trouble lol (all good im thinking, sorry guys)

Josh starts catching me fast so i thought its time to pit on lap 13, the pitstop seems to take FOREVER, no schumi on the map yet, im leaving the pits and BANG his there, however this time im right behind him.
A few laps later i see josh pit again (WOOOO) suddenly me and schumi at fighting for 1st instead of 3rd or 4th. We were trading places all the way to the end and i won by 0.3 seconds

great race i really love that track

I got out of shape just before the long straight and nycrom went into me. Would of caught Paginas had that not happened.

Engine Damage=Game Over (2nd time in a row!):(
Unfortunately u lost the control of your NSX to the corner exit, I was behind u to few meters..and I can't avoid u..really bad luck..damaged heavy suspension and engine for me too..for nothing probably I lost a better place..i was really competitive here..i was in first position for several laps..but a race incident..unfortunately can happen.. :(

I started out very careful. Trying to make sure to not do any mistakes... In the first sector on lap 2, I made an unforced error with engine damage as a result.. Think that was the looongest lap I've ever done. Felt like a week. When I finally made my first pit and was in the porsche curves at lap 3 I made ANOTHER unforced error. Had to pit again... From there on, my race was totally over. All I could hope for was a mistake by someone. I drove pretty concistant after lap 3 but did not gain any time. Probably because og the lack of slipstream. But I must say that you guys in the lead did an awsome race.

During lap 11 an onwards, I was BEGGING for rain. And I stayed out on the track as long as possible to be able to dive in to the pits to throw rain tyres on. But when I was about to start lap 16 and the sky was totally blue, I decided to get some fresh rubber and go for a fastest lap (knew it would be hard without slipstream) since I felt confident in not letting OwensRacing or UAE_ReDLiNe catch me. I knew UAE probably would overtake me while I was in the pits, but it never happened.. So during the last laps I was trying really hard to set a fastest lap, and on my final lap I had a low 3:54.XXX comming up.. And when I was about to enter Mineapolis, what do you guys think happened??? RAIN!!! FFS!!!! Grip was decreased and my superlap went down the drain.. But just before the ford chicanes, I ran out of fuel... So I guess the rain did not matter in the end...

Would've loved to be onvolved with the top guys, but a 5th place is something I'm quite happy with when looking at my first 3-4 laps...

Congratz to Paginas for a great race. And Schumi74 as well who finished 0,3 seconds behind..

yeah schumi went in with damage, i damaged my front right wheel from turning in too early and hitting him slightly, so sorry if thats why you pitted! but yeah then nycrom and falcon got ahead, me and pag battleing for 3rd, and im sorry if i seemed to be turning quite rapidly on straights, its hard to drive perfectly straight for 10 laps with a damaged front right wheel :scared: but finally everyone started pitting around 10/11

Ok, Mini/Probably Long Race Report for me then :)

As we started the countdown for the race, it started to rain... As a result I think we were all pretty careful on the first lap on dry tyres. It was actually fairly wet, probably should have been on Inters if going for optimal pace. Thankfully the rain stopped after about 4 laps, so the track started to dry out and our slicks were the tyre of choice again. All this time myself, Senninha and Aderrrm were swapping places, probably holding each other up, but it was good fun. On Lap 6 there was an accident into the first Mulsanne Chicane which left Senninha stricken and in the gravel; only myself and Aderrm to continue the battle for the lead.

After that it was back to the usual, swapping places all over the place, no contact, fantastic racing. Aderrm pitted on Lap 7, which was much earlier than I anticipated he would. I was going to do a 2-stop at the beginning of the race, but then swapped to a 1-stop when I realised during the race that my tyres would be able to make it quite easily. I pushed like crazy, and despite him being on fresh rubber, he only made up 2.5 seconds on me when I pitted on Lap 9. I came out of the pits directly behind, just out of the slipstream, 2.5 seconds behind.

From there, I pushed like crazy again to catch back up. I knew Aderrrm would have to be running a very long stint on his tyres in order to beat me to the race win by doing a 1-stopper, so I anticipated being able to sit and wait till the latter few laps to be able to take advantage. Luckily for me he made a mistake into the first chicane, doing a pretty little half-spin and losing about 6-8 seconds. After that I knew it was my chance to build a gap and take the win, so I was back to pushing like crazy, and managed to build a gap of 14 seconds by the final lap.

However by the last lap I noticed something was very wrong. The fuel gauge was flashing red as I went under the Dunlop bridge. Not good. It had been so long that I've done an endurance race where it was long enough for the fuel tank to be used up, that I didn't even think about the fuel I'd require when I made my stop. From there I knew damn well I wouldn't make it round again, but it was too late. I dropped off the pace big time, backing off the throttle well early to save any fuel I could. With a 14 second lead, I could afford to, but fuel ran out at the end of the Mulsanne straight, meaning I had a huge distance to cover to get back to the start finish line running at 50mph. Senninha came past me just heading into the Porsche Curves. And Kamy, being so cruel, took my podium away from me as we went into the final chicanes. :(

Anyway, it was a good race, La Sarthe is a fantastic circuit :D

Eurgh. Had an awesome race with Aderrrm in GT300 - leading by 14s into the last lap. Could see I was very low on fuel, wasn't sure if I'd make it or not. Ended up spending the last lap backing off the throttle really early, then ran out of fuel on the last stretch of the Mulsanne Straight. Lost 2min30secs, finished 4th ._.

Really gutted, stupid mistake to make. But congrats to Aderrrm, you made it a tough race. And Senninha too till a coming together on Lap 6.

Great race mate. And Senninha too. I think I could have got another 3 laps or so with my fuel :P! No idea why I pitted early to be honest lol. When you caught me up aswell, and we were going down the first straight I thought you was going to put one down the inside, so I let off the brake, lost concentration, put a few wheels in the gravel trap and spun. :dunce: From there I was always 8-14 seconds behind you and was begging for rain to give myself a chance. I had 12 laps on the same set of tires and knew I couldn't catch up. I brought it down to 9 seconds then I saw you going slow... I thought you had binned it (somewhere, even though it was a straight lol) or you had run out of fuel. Unlucky mate anyway.

Great race everyone.

Yes i think it was that contact on lap 2 my car got hurt and i was surprised cause the hit was not very big, but i couldnt go on and have to make a really early pitstop. But it wasnt your fault really i had to brake hard because paginas braked hard infront of me (cause the car infront of him braked hard and so on) well whatever :-)

Pitted on lap 2 and 10 so ofcourse a 1 stop race would have been the winner. Did anyone manage that? Or did everyone for various resons make 2?

I did 3...

Lap 1, 3 and 15.. Very concistant, was'nt it??

Btw: Thread for round 8 is up. Please continue any further discussions in the new thread after the talk about round 7 fades out.

but honestly would of got away with just one if i didnt have to refill, sarthe actually doesnt eat your tyres

Now I know why I was the only person who got lapped on this circuit! :dunce: The pace of the competition was staggering but I really appreciate my first online race experience (albiet an endurance one!) and certainly gave me lots to think about. Though I did felt sorry for Moleman when I was unlapping myself on the end there!

Gotta share some new parts I have made for a gtplanet member. T500 RS LARGE Brake Pedal. Designed for the two footed paddle shifting racer. ;)

This is what I do everyday. From design, programming, set up and operation. One man CNC shop.

Anyway figured you guys would enjoy viewing.

As well. I have some surprises ideas for the WSGTC come end of the season. ;) Denilson, I need to discuss these ideas and get approval.

Good Job 👍

Too bad you cant win Le Mans. lol jk , but seriously :sly:

@ Owens - damn that looks good!! wow im looking forward to seeing what you got for WSGTC lol

@ Bermuda - SHUT UP, least i can beat you in a leman car :D

Denilson, I would have overtaken you in the pits if I had of not been a smartass and just filled the car up on my pit stop. I was planning a 1 pit strategy but as soon as I left the pits I knew I wouldnt have enough fuel. What an idiot! next time I know. I was really hoping for rain too because I was practicing in rain all week :) Guess I can't be upset I came last, I ran a pretty consistent race with no unforced errors. Just slower than everyone else (and second pitstop for fuel :@)

pretty satisfied with my own time was saving tyres because i needes to do 14 laps on one set. i tured out to be very stupid strategy lost minimum 27 second in the end but was good fun

Yes, you would... perhaps.. Was looking at the replay, and you where 28 seconds behind me when I entered the pits... You probably would've passed me by 5-10 seconds.. However, we still had 5 laps to race, and my pace was 3:55's all the way.. And your best was 4:02.. Sure you could've kept up with the slipstream for a lap or two.. But I think my pace was at least as fast that you can't say for sure that you would've beaten me to the finishline. ;)

OwensRacing: Sounds interesting! Just throw me a PM.. 👍

Well if it's any consolation mole, you got the fastest lap. :P

We were doing around 4:22s when us 3 were together. Then I pitted and suddenly did a 4:13. Probably because it was wet when we were changing places. I was never pushing it though. Realised I had quite a long way to go on the same set of tires.

the gt500 fastest laps been set?

oh and if its possible, can somone send me the replay? sucks disconecting and not being able to save it when i rejoin..

Don't worry, I'm sure you did fine. My first race with this league saw me put nine laps behind the lead. With the competition of the league, you learn fast. Lord knows, you have to if you want to improve over your previous race.

You think the amnt of gas in the tank significantly affects our speed? I was hitting consistent 4:16's at the end of the race without any slipstreaming, or was I just on a roll at the end?

Small race report from my drivers seat:

Race started out well. Was grouped behind the lead pack. Decided to use the draft for a peak at the lead. Well doing so we went three wide. All good. Till I got nervous and was watching mini map to be sure we was clear. This caused me to late brake in first chicane. Car got into the sand and while locked brakes it slid back on track. Was yelling stop Stop STOP!! WACK! Get hit very hard. My fault and damage was pretty serious on my right rear. Limped it back to the pit doing so ended up losing the rear at the end of this lap and damaged the engine. Pitting on lap 3. So now I am alone. See chorda was behind me. Suspected a glitch and he was prob up front with me being last. So set the cruise control and try and save tires and fuel. Worked great. I caught up to UAE. Well he pitted. So I decided to chase him in there. Totally disoriented from the night. I over shot the pit. All the way through pit lane and back out. Well that was it for me. One more time around and pit. Rest was boring for report. I still enjoyed every lap of this race though.

Le Mans with time and weather = Awesome

This has led me to have interest in a 50 lap race here. Like to do Le Mans style cars.......prefer to open this up and allow members of the WSGTC have first dibs.

This would be a one race deal. Not a league or series. However if we get a good turn out and racers want to do another 3 hr enduro we can organize it.

If you are interested in this type of race PM me. As well would like to do this race one hour after the finish of the WSGTC race. So Friday around 8pm EST, like to get the race to last right at 3hrs.

Yep. I'm not sure why we don't race at Monza with change weather on. Makes things way more interesting and if you're behind you have another lifeline to grab the lead.

Oh yes. Agree. As well my previous mention of a LM Enduro could easily use Monza for a second round. Again that is we get the drivers interest.

Think maybe a monthly Enduro could be done.

Owens I was right behind you when you spun off and had to pit. On lap 15ish I clipped the edge of the track with a back wheel and went spinning for almost 250 metres shouting STOP STOP!! it scared me so much but I managed to miss the barriers and ended up in the gravel

You're actually really close to a few ideas regarding WSGTC 2.. Monza, LMP's and diversity is some of them.. But don't be afraid, it will still be a Super GT Championship. 👍

I am in for something like this. So if it's in the works, then I would rather go that route. Not having the time to dedicate to a league or anything definitely prefer participate then organizing.
