Did your clocks change recently?

My girlfriend's in Sydney did so I guess it did for Europe too.

I'm not going to be able to make the race this Friday since it's my birthday and only day off to spend with some family that came into town. I thought at one point I could make the race but I'd be really pushing it racing for and hour and a half.

I really wanted to race at Sarthe after watching Truth in 24 so it's a total bummer missing out.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I stated in a previous post that the red areas on the big straight is off track. But it's NOT. I was 100% sure that the white lines was the lines for track limit. But I discovered that the lines are just there because they did not remove them before the race. The lines are for everyday traffic and not for us. In some parts the lines are for us. 1st sector plus the righthander before the big straight. Also just before (on the left hand side) the sharp righthander after the big straight. And also in the last sector. Chicanes: As long as you are on the right side of the curbs, you will not recieve a penalty. Meaning that you can be outside the white line as long as you can make the curb.

Startprocedure: Polecar will decide where the start is (somewhere between 1st and 2nd chicane). He must make sure that ALL cars are clear of the first chicane before starting. Somewhere on the straight between 1st and 2nd chicane is where the start will take place. It's totally up to the pole car, as long as ALL cars behind him is on the straight. He can not start the race if the last car is still in the 1st chicane. Also, remember that odd numbers will take the left hand side since T1 is the lefthander in to the 2nd chicane.

Depending on your gear ratios, you have to shift at no later than 6000 rpm. I shift at 5750-6000. This car has a slightly dodgy power/torque curve.
I can confirm this. I couldn't believe how fast Aderrrm went in the MR-S at Fuji so I went back and tried the car for myself. After a few very slow laps I started scratching my head, fiddling with gear ratios and then I saw the unusual power/torque curve. The HP peaks at below 6000 rpm and then drops sharply, yet the redline is at 7000 rpm. So if you're shifting this car at redline you're robbing yourself of 50+ HP. As soon as I adjusted my shift points I realized the full potential of this car.

I didn't see Aderrrm's La Sarthe quali lap, what was his top speed? In the Celica I think the highest I saw was 165 MPH.

Guys, can I be put on the GT300 waiting list for tomorrow, been away all week so couldnt qualify

I just tried running in the rain for the first time in my lounge and it's a complete disaster. No grip! Drifting and crashing in every other turn even at very low speeds. Is there any palpable difference between Rain and Intermediate tires? They both seemed equally terrible. Raising the suspension didn't seem to help either.

Something doesn't seem right about the physics model. In the real world my street UHP Z-rated Yokohamas have excellent grip in the wet, only slightly lower compared to dry conditions. The car handling is still very predictable, none of this crazy "PD on ice" BS.

Sorry about the rant but if it rains I think I'll just stop under a bridge and wait it out :D

Although it wasn't part of the quali lap times, down the first long straight up to the first chicance I can do 167. After the 90 degree right hander on the back straight I can do 164.

Remember there's a big difference between tire temperatures in My Lounge compared to Open Lobby. Between rain and intermediates - I'm not sure either :P. I remember the glitch where Racing softs were faster that Rain tires. After they fixed it, I did a lap in a gt500 car on Suzuka in the rain. Racing rains were fastest followed by Intermediates by about 5 seconds, then Racing softs which were about 40 seconds slower.

I think it's hard to realise how fast you're actually going in Gran Turismo. You think you're going slower than normal because it's raining, but infact you're doing still doing 40 mph around a corner which on the road, would be going some.

Hmmm, I think the lack of grip in the wet is slightly exaggerated in GT5 - certainly racing at Suzuka in a GT500 in the wet a few nights ago was really difficult, was such a small amount of grip. To be honest I hope the GT300s handle better in the rain or it's going to be such a tough race (not that I mind :P) - rain in the dark with that little amount of grip will be the worst ofc.

To be honest the grip levels on GT5 in the rain feel like you're driving on slicks in the wet (which I've done/do in karting, tyre changes weren't permitted). When you drive with full wets it isn't a lot different to driving in the dry, in a kart anyway - the grip level is so much increased. I've driven my road car round the Nurburgring in the rain and I can't say the levels of grip were as low as they are in GT5 either, or I'd have definitely ended up in the wall :P

I did a karting race on slicks whilst it was lightly raining, the track was still wet though. Awesome fun, opposite locking at every given moment is just epic. No other word for it. The best half an hour of my life. 👍

i can do it too - but i haven't qualified yet so can i go on the waiting list please

Yup, no problem 👍 I'll also put you up as GT300 host. Nothing against you Senninha, but HortusIX've hosted before and knows all procedures.

BTW: HortusIX, have you heard anything from Bakugekiki? Not seen him for a looong time...

And on another note, regarding the total drivers tables. Masi has not responded yet to my PM about updating the OP. So Wardez is going to make a new nice looking table for me to put up in the OP. My guess and hope is that everything will be updated in the beginning of next week. Hope you guys have understanding.

Also: UAE_ReDLiNe, what was you brothers PSN, what car is he going to use and what country is his origin?

Does he understand the importance of taking it VERY easy during the first couple of laps? Just to make sure we don't get rammed (not saying he will) in T1. Quite a few of us still race for final standings.

What will be the in race "time of day" and "time progression" setting be? I know you can alter how fast time goes on the track. Are we going to for sure be running some of the race in darkness? Just curious

16 or 17 should work. With the in-game time of day clock set to start around 15:00

We will set the start time for 14.00 and time-progression to 15. It should be 16 if we race for 90 minutes as long as it's dry... So we'll set the progression to 15 to make up for possible rain, slowing us down.

So: Yes, we will race thru all the dark hours. :)

To be 100% on time. Please confirm connect time and race start times at the end if the post here.

Great appreciated. Hate to be late or anyone for that matter. ;)

damn im looking forward to this race :D

Connect Time 20:00 BST (GMT)
Race Time = 21:00 BST (GMT)

I hope thats right lol :sly:

Yep I can't wait me too..my first pole position...:) But yesterday I had a problem with my G25...something about software..not hardware..:scared: I hope all will be fine for the race... 👍

UAE_ReDLiNe and HortusIX: Sorry for not updating the OP. But we had a bad weather here in Sthlm last night so my internet is down (typing from my phone).

They are working hard to salve this issue, and I really don't want to miss this race.. Fingers crossed.

Pagi: You're correct. Connect time: 20.00 PM (GMT/BST), 21.00 PM (CET), 15.00 PM (EST). Not sure about EST, but I'm pretty sure eastern USA is GMT -5.. Can someone please confirm.
